Summary
Barbas Eisner was a simple mercenary, fighting his way through every day alongside his sister, Byleth, and their father, all just to survive. Though the simple world he understood was shattered when three strangers showed up to their village with a request for help. Suddenly, the world he knew revealed itself to be one of lies and half-truths, many coming from the very family he trusted. Unable to return to a life of ignorance, Barbas would look for the truth, no matter the cost.
Byleth Eisner remembered a simple life with her parents in the monastery, befriending students and admiring the knights. Though it all fell apart when her brother was born, fleeing as her perfect image of the world began to crack. She'd dedicated her life to protecting Barbas, but when her past catches up to her, she finds herself thrown into the midst of brewing conflict. When blades are drawn, would she be able to choose between family and her ideals?
As time marches onward, the two find their answers. Barbas looks to Alliance so they might bring about the winds of change, while Byleth looks to the Empire to burn the system of old. When their true colors are revealed, will the two be able to reconcile? Or are they doomed to clash?
