"How the hell did you get roped into this?" Feng Xin laughs around the mouthful of cotton candy while Mu Qing considers shoving the stick down his throat.
"Fuck off." Warns, but can't really turn away from his pest as the booth is small and he's quite literally boxed in on all sides. He's trapped and like blood in the water Feng Xin managed to sniff him out. His dumb smirking face refusing to be any less irritating.
"Be nice," Xie Lian suggests with no real authority. "We all had to help with the event, no one job is any less important."
Mu Qing scowls from the brightly-painted box, decorated in hearts and elaborate lips, boasting a kiss for tokens.
"Yea. Sure."
Xie Lian at least has the manners to look apologetic. They all had been roped into the Shi Family annual charity fair. Feng Xin volunteering his time running carnival games, Xie Lian being kept as far from the concession stands as possible. It was by sheer foul luck that Mu Qing had been closest when Shi Wudu learned of his younger brother's intention to personally run the kissing booth.
Damnation by proximity, and Shi Qingxuan whined and pouted about some master plan, but was ignored while Mu Qing was cast into this living hell.
"Hell, how many people have you scared off with that face?" Feng Xin mocks, brow suddenly twitching as he realizes Mu Qing has had 3 patrons that day. His face turning a strange shape, then swiftly reverts back to insufferable bastard .
"I have a token?" Xie Lian offers, "You probably can't leave until you meet your quota, maybe it'll help?"
"Ah don't let him cheat." Feng Xin whines, then makes a noise as Xie Lian begins to offer the fair currency and simultaneously leans down with the full intention of kissing Mu Qing.
Feng Xin's not sure who interrupted first, himself or the sudden flurry of red and cocky smiles But pale hands yank Xie Lian back from the booth and a frozen Mu Qing before anything can happen.
"I have a better idea." Hua Cheng grins, arm wrapped protective around Xie Lian's waist and causing both Feng Xin and Mu Qing to grind their teeth. "I actually happen to have plenty of tokens here, I'd be willing to spend them on your behalf ge ge." The red bastard holds up a sizable plastic bag of tokens, almost an obscene amount for one person. Chances are he stole them…
"That would be really sweet of you San Lang."
"What's the catch?" Feng Xin and Mu Qing demand in unison, shuddering at the agreement, but even more unnerved by the devious glint in Hua Cheng's good eye.
"That's a simple thing." He rests his chin on top of Xie Lian's shoulder, having to bow his neck to do so, but appeared very much the delighted Cheshire cat as his gaze drifted between the two. "I want you to kiss Feng Xin."
"Hell no."
"The hell??!"
Both are betrayed by the sound of Xie Lian's snort of laughter, their childhood friend failing to cover his amusement in time.
"What?" Hua Cheng raises ink black brows and fails to look innocent. "It's a charity event after all, isn't it cheating if I just hand them over?"
"Is it cheating if I punch out your other eye?" Feng Xin threatens, feeling like a scolded kitten once Xie Lian looks his way. A reminder that, no, they can't actually kill his boyfriend despite all the reasons it should be legal. He supposed in the end it doesn't really matter, slimy jerk, it's not like Mu Qing would even consider it.
"You don't have to." Hua Cheng continues, tossing the big of tokens in one hand. "I was just trying to help, I'm sure sitting here for the rest of the evening is preferable. Should we see if Pei Ming wants a turn?"
Xie Lian tugs on the braid of black hair, a hushed voice imploring Hua Cheng not to tease so much, Feng Xin disgusted at the display. (Idly wondering how many tokens he had left and if that'd help Mu Qing - then how to best sneak them into the box without the little shit knowing it was him. Just like school lunch money that would appear in the other's bag when he'd pretend he wasn't hungry rather than just ask for help.)
"Don't be a complete asshole, just give him the damn tokens or not. Stupid fucking games--"
The offering is a dare Mu Qing can't win after all, and Feng Xin was already planning how to escape before the guy's temper shot up when there's a loud snap and a blur at his side.
Mu Qing's boot lands on the booth table, hoisting himself up in a fluid motion rather than use the doors to the kissing booth (prison). He's fast, Feng Xin barely has time to catch the sudden weight crashing into him. A poor, unbalanced hold on the body while Mu Qing's hand grasps his bun, like a leash, forcing him into the hard knock of mouths.
It's more like a punch than a kiss - then more like being stabbed as Feng Xin's mouth is slack with surprise and Mu Qing's teeth scrap his lower lip. The bright gasp that stumbles out surprises him, makes his hands (one carrying Mu Qing's weight) flinch. Fail it's one job and dropping his cotton candy as the man's tongue darts across his open mouth. The smallest stain of sugar lingering on his lips when the warm body pulls back. Disengages with a huff and all but slaps the token bag from Hua Cheng's open palm.
Mu Qing doesn't say anything, just trudges off at a quickened speed towards the offices to turn in his bounty. The long ponytail swinging back and forth like a pendulum, matching Feng Xin's speeding pulse
"The fuck was--" He stumbles, arm still outstretched from catching the man and there's a deep crack on the booth's counter from the impact of his jump. "The hell did--??!!!"
"Well that was fun." Hua Cheng comments, sounding like he was already bored.
"Ah, Feng Xin…?"
Xie Lian smiles awkwardly, like he's torn between amusement and embarrassment.
"Hell was-he just---what!!??"
"He stole your cotton candy." Xie Lian offers, pointing to the retreating shape, the smallest glimpse of pink cloud over his running shoulder.
"That asshole!!" Feng Xin kicks up dirt in his scramble to pursue the retreating shape, cursing his name and crimes for all to hear with an unstoppable from spreading across his face. Deciding when he catches the bastard he's either going to kill him or kiss him.
Either works for him.
