Summary
Dazai isn't thinking straight enough to handle the mission as planned and ends up with an unnecessary blood bath. Chuuya can't do anything else but witness rage and madness while the children scream, but that image will never let him rest easy.

Canon divergent: Starts before Dark Era and moves onward.Chuuya realizes there's much more under the surface of Dazai's mask, a void created by horror and trauma too deep-rooted to cure. He's driven by the irrational need to know more about his partner, but inside Dazai's mind it's too dark for any light to spark.
Chuuya gets caught in a spiral of violence and pain he won't be able to free himself from.
But if he doesn't try to help Dazai, who will? Chuuya doesn't want to let go, and that complicates things.
