Soulmates? Everyone is born with what the first thing your soulmate says to you.
Midoriya Izuku, a boy with a soulmate but no quirk. What person will want him when they find out he's quirkless.
Chisaki Kai, Leader of the Yakuza group Shie Hassaikai. He's given up trying to find his soulmate
What happens when they cross paths one day and they both find what they have been looking for?
Midoriya Izuku. A 14 year old boy, he has his entire future ahead of him. So why is he standing on the roof of a building ready to jump off? To know why we have to go back to what happened that day.
*IZUKU'S POV*
While on my walk to school I stopped to watch a fight. Mount Lady made her debut, someone told me that I can become a hero. That made me happy, but as all things go my happiness didn't last long. During school my teacher mentioned to the class that I wanted to go to UA as well as another one of my classmates. Bakugou Katsuki, we used to be childhood friends but after I was shown to be quirkless he started to insult me, The insults later turned to physical violence. After school while I was packing up to head home, Kacchan grabbed my notebook and showed it to his friends making them laugh at me. He ended up burning it with his quirk and throwing it out the window. As he was walking away he told me "If you believe you'll be born with a quirk in your next life, then take a swan dive off the roof"
His words and actions hurt but I tried to not let it get to me. That was until I met him, the person I admired most, All Might. I was being attacked by a sludge villain who tried to take over my body. All Might saved me, he even signed my notebook. I still had so much I wanted to talk to him about so I clung onto his leg as he tried to take off. We landed on a roof of a building and I decided that now is the time to ask him
"Even if I don't have a quirk can I become a hero?"
"Without power, can one become a hero? No I should think not."
Of course he wouldn't think I can. Why did I even ask? He leaves and I chose to stay on the roof. Maybe everyone is right? I sent down my bag and climb up on the ledge of the roof. As I'm standing there I think about the life I've had so far, my mom. Maybe she'll find someone else and have a child that will be born with a quirk this time. Kacchan, he'll be happy that I won't stand in his way anymore. I look down at my wrist to my soulmate mark, "please get down from there." I never found out what it meant. Hopefully they find someone who isn't useless and quirkless like me. I was about to take a step and fall when I heard the door of the rooftop swing open.
*CHISAKI'S POV*
Eri's test was going smoothly, that was until her handler barged into my office to inform me that she ran off. Why can't they watch a child? I grab my coat, mask and gloves before hunting her down. As I'm walking around I spot her running down an alleyway, once she gets to the sidewalk she looks up. She noticed me and starts running into the building. I walk in and it seems like she's waiting for me at the stairs. I follow her, what could she have possibly seen? She runs all the way up to the roof. Is she trying to jump to get away from me? As I get there I now seen what she was rushing for.
Standing on the edge was a young boy with green hair, he was wearing a middle school uniform, his shoes and bag was on the ground. Was he trying to jump off? Why? Since quirks came around the suicide rates have dropped. I don't want it to look like I pushed him off so I tried to talk him down, he turned around to look at me when I came up.
"Please get down from there"
"Why do you care? he replies.
That line, where have I heard it before. I quickly look at my wrist where my soulmate mark is. There it is in bright green ink "Why do you care?" I look back to him and notice that he is looking at his wrist as well. Before I get the chance to talk he beats me to it
"Wha-what did you just say? You-you just said what's written on my wrist."
If I said his, does that mean that this boy is my soulmate?
"You said mine as well, can you just get down from there and we can talk about it"
He finally climbs down. Eri looks up to me and smiles.
"Umm what's your name?"
"I'm Chisaki Kai, what's yours"
"Midoriya Izuku"
I offer to walk him home. Well it's not like I was going to let him say no anyway, we walk back down and to my surprise Eri didn't try to run off again. We talked as we walked to his house, he kept mentioning someone named "Kacchan" how he told him to take a swan dive off the roof. I asked him why and he seemed hesitant. He eventually blurted out that he's quirkless. So that explains why he tried to jump, he was getting bullied for being pure.
"Sorry that you have a quirkless soulmate like me"
"Why are you apologizing? Free from the disease called quirks, you're pure, perfect even."
"Wait you really don't mind that I'm quirkless? You're not mad or even disgusted?"
"Of course not, I'm quite relieved to hear that my soulmate is quirkless."
He talked about how he wanted to be a hero but he decided to give up. The moment he stepped onto that ledge he had given up. He cleansed himself of that hero syndrome. By the time we made it to his home it was dark.
"Can you come with me? My mom is going to be worried about why I came home so late"
"Okay, but I have to make a call"
He nodded happily and waited till I was finished. I called Kurono to pick myself and Eri up in 30 minutes. I told him the address, and hung up.
*IZUKU'S POV*
After he was done with his call we walked up the stairs to the third floor. As I was about to open the door it swung open. My mom ran out and quickly gave me a hug.
"Izuku where have you been? I have been worried about you" She looks up to Chisaki
"Izuku who is this?"
"His name is Chisaki Kai, and he's the reason I'm here now, can we talk to you about something?"
She invites him and Eri in and the three of us sit down at the table while Eri is sitting on the couch.
"Okay now that we're inside can you please explain why Izuku is coming home so late?"
"Well I was following Eri because she ran off on me she spotted someone on the roof of a building. She ran inside and I followed her, bringing me to the roof top. That is when I seen your son"
"Izuku is that true? What we're you doing up there?"
"Yes it's true, and I was umm" Before I could finish Chisaki continued
"It looked as if he was getting ready to jump off"
"WHAT, were you really going to jump Izuku?
"Yes I was mom, I'm sorry"
"Why?"
"One of the students at school told me if I believe I'll be born with a quirk in my next life then take a swan dive off the roof"
"WHAT! Why would someone say that to you?"
"Mom it's fine"
"It's not fine, what if Chisaki wasn't there to get you down? What would happen to your soulmate?"
"That's actually another thing we wanted to talk to you about. Chisaki is my soulmate"
"wait what?"
"As I was standing there Chisaki tried to talk me down. He said "please get down from there" That is what is written on my wrist"
"What's on your wrist Chisaki?'
"Mine says "Why do you care?" that is what he said to me as I was trying to get him down"
"Izuku can you please go to your room, I'd like to speak to Chisaki alone for a bit"
"Can I take Eri with me, you know to talk to for a bit too"
Chisaki looks at Eri who is smiling, he nods and I grab her hand and bring her with me into my room while Chisaki and my mom talk
*CHISAKI'S POV*
After Izuku left his mom began talking to me
"I'm going to get this out, but Izuku is quirkless"
"So I've heard. On our way here he told me. No I'm not disgusted by that, I actually think he's perfect like that. He's pure"
"You don't know how happy that makes me as a mother. Hearing that his soulmate accepts him even though he's quirkless. I've always been scared that once he finds his soulmate that they won't want him because of that."
We talked for a while more, then I got a text from Kurono saying that he was outside.
"I'm very sorry to cut this conversation short Ms. Midoriya but my ride is here"
"Oh that's okay and please just call me Inko."
I head to Izuku's room to get Eri, I knocked on the door when I heard a "come in" from the inside. I open the door to find Eri helping Izuku take down All Might posters. Inko seems to notice and ask what he's doing. He just replies saying that he doesn't want them up anymore. I tell Eri that it's time to go, she clings onto his leg. She doesn't want to leave.
"Come Eri, we'll see him again if that's okay with them"
"Oh that's fine, I'm sure Izuku would like to see you two again."
"YES" I turn to see him smiling
"Okay, you heard that Eri, we can see them again on a different day, but its late so we need to go home."
"Before we go I need to tell him something"
Inko helps Eri to the car waiting outside while I talked with Izuku.
"Midoriya, I'm going to give you my number. Please don't hesitate to call, especially if something else with "Kacchan" happens, but if you just want to talk that's fine as well"
He puts my number into his phone, as I was walking out he stopped me.
"Umm please just call me Izuku" I smiled a bit but he couldn't see it because of the mask.
"Well in that case just call me Kai" He smiled and nodded
I walked out of his room and Inko just came back inside. I gave her my card, in case something happens and Izuku is unable to call for himself. She thanks me and I head down to the car. Once I get in I see that Eri is sitting on Kurono's lap. We get back home and I decided to put her to bed tonight. She lays down and laughs a bit.
"How did you know? About Izuku"
"A feeling, are we really going to see them again? I like him he's fun"
"Maybe, We still have to do your tests, but maybe we can make a better world for him so he doesn't get hurt again."
"That sounds like a better world"
"Yeah it does, now sleep. You need rest if you want to see him again."
She lays down and falls asleep. I leave to go to my own room, I stare at the ceiling for a bit before heading to sleep myself
"A better world indeed"
