You couldn't really blame Izuku for what happened.
Here's a little backstory.
Izuku was... drowsy, so to say.
When you're drowsy, your mind may not have focused all the way since your brain is still half asleep.
Izuku was in that state of waking up confused and doing/saying something because his mind hadn't yet become coherent.
During his well deserved good night's rest, he slept like a baby.
Partly because the dream he had was a rather pleasant one. Now, he wouldn't tell it to anyone because he'd probably die from embarrassment if anyone ever found out, but his dream consisted of him and Ochako cuddling together on a couch and doing normal couple things.
Izuku had long since admitted to himself that he did indeed have feelings surpassing platonic when it came to his female best friend.
It seems that his subconscious agreed.
And so, in his drowsy state, with the fresh memory of dream Izuku and dream Ochako cuddling together, his mind still processed the two as a couple.
Though they weren't in real life. Not yet, at least.
When Izuku's phone dinged, he squinted his eyes as he looked at who texted him.
'Uraraka'
Without thinking, Izuku read the text, which was a standard "good morning Deku ^_^".
He didn't know that most people who were "just friends" didn't text each other in the morning. Not everyday like they did, at least.
The pleasant dream still on the forefront of his mind, Izuku replied to the text without thinking.
"Good morning babe."
Send.

...
Shit.
Izuku's eyes sprung open.
What did he just do?!
He peered at the text and yes, he did just call Ochako "babe".
Izuku groaned in embarrassment as he dropped the phone and buried his head in his pillow.
How was he gonna explain that?
'Yeah, i called you that cause I had a dream where I was spooning you on a couch."
He sighed as he saw the three dots appear on his phone, signifying a reply was on its way.
Here's to hoping he didn't succeed in ruining his first ever friendship.
'See you later 😘'
His eyes widened as a blush adorned his cheeks.
He didn't know why, but he was sure he heard a vivid scream of "Mina!" coming from two floors above him.
He clutched his phone to his chest and collapsed back face first into his pillow.
'I'll deal with this later...' He thought with a dopey smile on his freckled face.
