Generally, Wei Wuxian tends to remember Lan Wangji first. He picks a stranger out of a crowd, or catches a glimpse of a figure dressed in white or blue as they turn a corner. Generally, Wei Wuxian is the first to feel the flood, to stare dimly into space as he’s inundated with centuries’ worth of memories all at once; the flashbacks tend to be kinder to him, leaving him dizzy but not disoriented. Generally, Wei Wuxian is steady enough - with his resolve augmented by many lives’ worth of confidence and shamelessness - to shout Lan Zhan’s name, or to run after him as he retreats, until Lan Zhan sees him and remembers in his turn.
