Isekai Catastrophe!

Summary:

These heroes had failed, and had somehow been transported into a parallel world where they are all given a chance to have a high school life. Will they all get along or will it just be an obvious start of chaos?

AKA: Isekai Quartet, but the students are the bad-end/sad-end version of the protagonists only.

[OFFICIALLY DISCONTINUED DUE TO LOSS OF INTEREST]

Notes:

NOTICE: This is highly experimental! I've always wanted to write this and I was quite unsure if this type of fic had already been written. Eventually we'll dive in further for each character's bad ends. So don't you worry! I do want to write something fun and fluffy so the bad-end protags can be happy in this fic.

Chapter 1: Second-Second Life!

Chapter Text

Meeting the Archbishop

Kazuma is not having a grand old time in here.

After dying at the hands of the Winter Shogun, the big-tiddy Goddess Eris had granted him a chance to go back to his own world and of course he took the chance! Screw that useless goddess, one-shot wonder wizard, and that crazy paladin! He's gonna be better than this!

At first he thought he'd finally woken up back to his own world... but this place seemed Japan and not Japan at the same time.

"Did Eris lie after all, cause no matter how I think about it..." Kazuma pointed to the mysterious figure in front of me. "YOU ARE DEFINITELY FROM SOME SORT OF FANTASY WORLD TOO!!!" He screeched. "AND THEN, WHY THE HECK ARE WE IN FRONT OF A SCHOOL?!"

He let out such a chilling aura. His eyes seemed to have something burning behind them. He had a flowing dark cloak, underneath the cloak was some sort of priest outfit. God, another Arch Priest? He better not be a second Aqua or so help me!

"Hey! Am I the only one who finds this weird?? Say something!" Kazuma screamed at the figure.

Cloaked man stepped in. "Why are you screaming at me, friend?" He lifts his head, revealing golden eyes and gives a charming smile. "I've just arrived here too! We should not fight, yes?"

Kazuma didn't know why, but he doesn't trust that friendly niko-niko smile of his. "Right. Right..." The unlucky adventurer nods. "Well, I'm gonna go-"

"Go where?" The priest-like character interjects. "Are you gonna leave? Leave me? LeAvE ThIS pLacE?"

(I-I can't move! WHAT THE HELL!!) It's as if something is holding my body in place! (Abwabwabwa! S-something is definitely touching my feet!! Again, what the hell-)

Priest guy smiles that damn smile again. "Hey, I want to explore the school, won't you come with me?"

Okay, so I can't run, can't move, this guy is totally emitting dangerous vibes right now, survival tactics dictates me too... "...Y-yeah. Why not? T-that sounds fun... Aha-ha-ha-ha-!" Fucking agree with the guy. I just died, I'm not dying again within the first hour!

Looks like it worked cause I can feel my legs getting free now!

"Then, shall we?"

Defender and Death

Satoru was confused, he's pretty sure that he had- He sighs. "No matter what, I still keep this form even in this world huh?" He flexed his skeleton palms.

"Ah!" A startled gasp freed Ainz away from his thoughts. From the end of the hallway was a fully-equipped man, his armor kind of resembling Albedo's. The stranger walked in brisk steps, before eventually turning into a full sprint straight towards him.

(Eh- EHHHHHHHH-! Why is he coming towards me?!) The armored man stopped still in front of me. Doing his best to maintain his Overlord persona, he spoke. "What do you want, human?" (Well, I assume you are...)

"So you've come to take me to the other side, Sir Reaper? Are you so merciful to show me my past life before I had suffered?"

(What- What is he talking about.) "Calm yourself, young man. I'm not a reaper, I'm simply an Elder Lich." Satoru straightened to appear more calm. "Explain yourself."

The armored man stopped to think. "So, you're not affiliated with the angel who took me down."

If he had eyelids, he'd be narrowing his eyes by now. Sadly he does not. (Angel? From Slane Theocracy's Sunlight Scripture, perhaps?)

"So, if you're not the angel's ally, who are you? Why are you here? Why am I here?" He points the dark shield he had on his right arm towards me. "Answer me, Elder Lich."

"Not so polite now, are we?" Satoru sighed. "Lower your shield, human. I do not intend harm. Even I am confused as to why I am here." (I'm sure I was in my chambers the last time...)

"Shut up. Do you think I'll believe you that easily?" His eyes burned in rage, much like his shield. It seems he's unreasonably distrustful, though he once looked meek when he thought I was a reaper.

(Man, we've gotten into the wrong foot.) Satoru does the best course of action, though he doesn't know if it will actually work. He's gotta try sometime soon, why not know... right?

- [Greater Teleportation] -

In a blink, the Elder Lich was gone, leaving the armored hero on the hallways alone.

"Tch." He lowers his shield, and goes on his way.

Love and Devotion

I let myself get lugged around by this guy.... whose name I still don't know.

"As you can see... that's why! ...Satella.... ahhh! I'm blessed..... Satella.... Love! LOVE! LOVE IS WONDERFUL, RIGHT? Sa-Satella~!" The arch bishop murmured to himself as he twirled around the halls, acting as if everything is fine and dandy. He hates this guy so much. Ugh.

(God, can he shut up?) Kazuma stared, inwardly cringing from this guy's love crap. (I feel bad for this Satella chick now, if he's this obsessed.)

The arch priest and adventurer had pretty much just explored almost all of the school, and everything's there. A number of Classrooms, Infirmary, Cafeteria, AV Room, and even a nice Sports Field.

This really is just a normal school, which makes it weird

Kazuma attempted to make sense of things, but decided that nah, this is probably that useless goddess's fault. Even in my second reincarnation she's still being such a stupid idiot. (Eris-chan will never do me wrong~ She's my heroine after all~ Gwehehe nyehahaha!!)

"Friend." The weirdo called out.

"What?" I disdainfully answered. "The tour finally over?" (We've been walking for an hour, mind you.)

He gestures slowly to the gymnasium. "There's someone inside."

I turned to the gymnasium and pressed an ear to the door. He's right, I can hear footsteps. (There's someone else other than this guy?! Then-) I burst inside the gymnasium fully intending to run away from this lunatic priest. "Please! Help me get away from this... guy.... Eh? EHHHH?"

What awaited me inside was a figure of a little girl. Her blond hair was flowing down to her waist, she was wearing some sort of military uniform. She turns around to look at me, only to reveal the clearest blue eyes I've ever seen. "...You want me to help you?" She asked blankly.

"Yes! Thank god you're here! This guy has been dragging me around and he's really, really scary and- WHAT THE HELL AM I SAYING?!" He fell to his knees and cried. "The one who I thought would be my savior, turns out to be a little girl! A LITTLE GIRL! I'll probably die by the hands of this priest guy now!" He points back to the golden-eyed bishop.

"What are you saying, friend?" The archbishop laughed. "I'm not going to kill you as long as you are my friend!"

The adventurer skids around the floor in terror. "Was that a threat?? That was totally a threat!"

"Now now..." His quiet footsteps only seemed to scare the adventurer more. "Stand up friend, there's much to see!"

"NO CHANCE IN HELL!" Kazuma shouts back. "Stay away from-" Kazuma's words were cut off as he gets tackled down by the arch bishop. "W-wha- No! I don't swing that wa-"

BWOOOOOOOOOOSHHHH-!!!

A sudden explosion erupted inside the gymnasium, the force of the blast blew back the two further away. "Wha- What the heck was-" Kazuma looked positively shaken.

The two turned to the only possible source. At the center of the clearing smoke was the little girl, holding what could only be described as a rifle. Making the two do a double take. The two paused, and stared blankly at it and then at her uniform. (Uwah... she's from some war world.)

(Where the heck did she hide away that gun anyways?)

(Was that what caused that explosion?)

(What is happening?)

That was the few things that went through their minds, but there was one thing they knew; this little girl had a dangerous smile on!

"Ah-haaa~ I missed." The little girl sighed.

While Kazuma panicked in the corner, the archbishop rose. "W-why? Why have you attacked us? Let us put away the weapons and become friends?" He glared. "Let's become friends." He repeated firmly.

"I just do as my god wills me to. He guides me to the right way, and lets me be the greatest version of myself. I devote myself to him wholeheartedly!" The little girl screamed in religious fervor. "He said that you're a dangerous individual."

Kazuma finally recovers. "Hold on! Hold on! What about me?? I'm a totally normal, harmless guy! D-d-don't kill me!"

"You called me a little girl." She answered simply.

"Oh." The adventurer grimaced. "Well... what if I said that you're a hot babe?" He winked with a thumbs up.

"That's a crime, and I will have to execute you by bullet rain."

"EXECUTION ALREADY!?"

She nods. "You have the face of a pathetic human being. I'll take any excuse to eliminate you."

"My feelings are hurt over here you know?!" Kazuma points to his heart. "Right here!"

The little girl sighed. "Enough with this and let me kill you guys already!" She points her rifle towards them and began to murmur a prayer. "Lord, hear my prayer..."

Kazuma looked panicked. "Hey weird guy. Come on, fight her, please? Please!? OH GOD, PLEASE?!! I DON'T WANNA DIE!!" He shakes the archbishop roughly.

He slowly turns to the adventurer with a smile that reached from eye to eye. "How could I do that...? She devotes herself to love! LOVE! HOW ADMIRABLE!!" He giggled. "Ahhh~ My brain~ it t-trembles... how magnificent! I can't fight her like this, please girly! Kill me! Kill me with your love!!"

(What the heck is wrong with this weirdo!? He's actively provoking her now!) Oh hell no! He carries the bishop to his shoulders like a pack of potatoes that he is and begins to bolt right out of there!

"Listen weirdo, I'm not the savior type but I need you to actually fight her! I sure as hell can't defeat her!" He shouted as another explosion resounded behind him. "Get your act  together!"

However, the archbishop was still in his frenzied state. "Ahhh... tremble.. tremble... gyuhehehe~"

"God you're as useless as that goddess, and now we have Megumin's distant loli relative behind us exploding everything! Why won't anything ever go right for me!!" He cried as he ran away.

The girl looked like a beautiful fairy, well if she stops shooting us and drops the gun that is, and holy crap she can fly?!

"There's really some serious power balance issues here!"

The Three Rulers

(It worked... it actually worked!) Satoru cheered internally. "So... magic works even in this world, huh?" That's great... imagine if I had to fight that shield wielding dark knight? Without my magic, I'd totally be toast!

Satoru allowed himself a moment of respite, but it was broken as soon as he heard an unfamiliar voice.

"Hm? Who might you be?" The overlord jumped in surprise by the sudden question. From the distance was a young... man/woman? They wore a blue fur coat, a scarf, and a peculiar mask. There was another person behind them, a young girl with long silver hair, who lay still on the ground wearing some sort of sailor uniform.

(I can't sense anything from him- her- Agh! Whatever! I can't sense anything from them! It's as if they are hiding something.) "I'm just a passing Overlord, and you?" He gave a quick glance to the girl behind them. (That girl either she's not hiding her aura, she's a human.)

The masked person just stared down at their palm. "I... don't know what to say, other than I'm a Great Sage. I'm controlling this body in auto-pilot, so I'll need to ask them."

(Them? Who's them?) "I... see." No I don't. "Now where's this place? ...and what about the girl?" He gestured his skeletal arms to the girl laying flat on the ground.

"We are currently in what appears to be a school rooftop."

Satoru nods. (Hmmm makes sense.) He thought as he discreetly looked around.

They bent down to poke at her hair. "As for the girl, I don't know, she was crying her eyes out earlier when I found her and didn't seem ready to stop anytime soon. Normally, comfort is given to someone crying, but I am incapable of it. So I stood here and watched her cry herself to exhaustion... She passed out, and then you appeared."  They stated in a concise manner, as if they were a automated.

(Is this person a robot? Is that why I can't sense anything from them? I should've interacted with CZ more to have a better idea with this.) The Overlord nodded. "It can't be helped then. First, we should find a place where she can rest peacefully."

"That won't be an issue." The masked person raises his arms in the air, and manifests a full-sized bed from out of nowhere!

(A magic user! It must be a form of [Create Item]. So I'm not the only mage here...) Satoru shook those thoughts away for now and decided to help the girl. The Overlord took it upon himself to place the little girl on the bed. He turned to the masked person, only to find that they have created benches.

The masked person gestured for the Elder Lich to sit with him, and he obliged. "Hey, do you remember why we're here?" They asked.

Satoru thought hard for an answer, but... "...I can't remember why I'm here." Even my memories was jumbled... was I really at my chambers when it happened? Weren't I... on the throne room...? The Overlord didn't know and he decided to stop thinking about it for now.

"Really?" They sounded sad. "I... remember what happened to this body before I found myself here."

Satoru was surprised. "Really? Then, won't you tell me?"

The Great Sage turned away, being unusually quiet. "Living beings don't take this news well... so I'm rather hesitant."

"Did something bad happen...?" Satoru was afraid by that silence.

After a few quiet moments, they spoke. "It died."

"Eh?" It was the only thing to escape from Satoru's jawbone.

"This body died." They iterated. "I wondered if it was the same to you, and wanted to confirm it."

He was overwhelmed in shock. (Death? Was that the special circumstances that allowed them passage in this world? That's impossible... Ainz Ooal Gown will never be defeated! How could this be?)

"Unfortunately, unless the girl wakes up, I have no way to confirm my theory since you do not remember."

He sincerely wished that their theory was false, but Satoru was reminded of the incident earlier. "No. It might be true..."

The masked person raised his head in surprise. "What? Did you remember?"

"No, no..." If Satoru remembered correctly. "However, I met with another person in the hallways. He said that he was taken down by an angel."

"Taken down? Doesn't that mean-"

Their words were cut-off as the girl slowly awakened. She rose her head, making her silver hair fly around. "Hm-m?" She looks around in a daze. "Nii-sama?"

The two walked over to the small girl. "How are you feeling, young miss?" The Great Sage asked.

After realizing where she was, tears began to form on the edges of their eyes again. "Nii-sama..."

Satoru felt blessed for having this skeleton body, because if he were in his human self, he'd probably panic right about now. He could never take it when other people cried. "Young miss, it seems you're lost. We are too, and we want to leave. Once we leave this place, we can help you search for your brother too."

"Skelly." She simply said, slowly stopping her tears. "A not evil skelly?"

"Yes, I'm not bad. This Great Sage here is not bad too. We want to help." The masked person seemed to take a hint and nodded.

The Great Sage stepped in. "Will you tell us what happened that got you here?"

Satoru would argue that it's too soon to ask that question, especially because she's a little girl... but he can't deny that he wanted to know as well.

Before the little girl could even respond, the doors from the downstairs area bursts open to reveal a scantily-dressed woman with blonde hair pinned up by a blue ribbon. Without even hesitating, she pointed a finger to all three of us with large glee on her face. "A-ha! I finally found you three!"

The said three muttered a sound of surprise in unison.

She presses her index finger to the side of her head and communicates telepathically to someone unknown. "Hey Seiya! I found the last three students! How are things over there?" Never mind, apparently she's talking to someone named Seiya.

She gets an answer that the three could not hear and she nods.

"Well then, come on you guys! Class is about to start!"

(Wait, what??)

Notes:

I had a lot of choices, but I didn't know who to give Bad Endings to and finally the class is complete!

These seven will be the final choices. I hope you're not too upset that I didn't choose your favorite Isekai? Though, there's still a possibility of transfer students.

I have one question! The next chapter will be self-introductions so it will be important!
*What name will Satoru use? Momonga, Ainz, or his own name Satoru?

Chapter 4: Self-Introductions

Self-Introductions

"With that said, this is the rules of your school life here in this world!" The scantily-clad teacher who introduced herself as Ristarte announced. The rules on the board were as follows:

  • Learn Hard
  • Play Hard
  • No Violence!

"As students, you're expected to participate in activities, get along with each other, and most importantly... have fun!" She giggled. "Now, any questions?"

"Question!" A little childish voice called. "I have a question!"

Ristarte looked positively glowing. "What is it?" She beamed to the little girl. (These people are all normal... definitely a lot more different than Seiya.) She discreetly turned to the side where her 'Assistant Teacher' Seiya, made himself comfortable.

The girl stands up and, with her soft little girl voice, spoke. "So murder isn't allowed?" She asked sweetly, as if she were asking her father a new doll she saw on the store rack,

(Oooookaaaaay.... that was not what I expected. Especially from that little girl.) "I-It's on the rules isn't it? You shouldn't hurt your classmates!" The goddess panicked.

"B-but! But!" She shifts around shyly, still using her little girl form to sway people. "Every single one of the students here look remarkable on their own way except that guy" She points to the brown-haired adventurer who paled, clearly remembering some sort of trauma.

(Ahh... so he's the student Seiya rescued...) Ristarte couldn't help but sigh. "No, you can't kill him." (Weirdoes... every single one of these heroes are weirdos. That must be why the gods don't want to meet the heroes directly anymore...)

"Don't you understand, Ristarte?" The little girl's voice went octaves deeper, surprising no one, this was what she expected from one who's world was ridden with war. "You cut-off the useless people to increase efficiency and productivity. We don't want someone that's only dead weight. That's how it is!"

"Oi! Oi!" Kazuma retorts. "I definitely agree with what you said... but isn't that a bit much?? Also, weren't you also trying to kill that guy?!" He jabbed to the arch bishop behind him.

"Yes! I won't mind being killed with your love!" The recovered arch bishop giggled on his seat.

"He's a dangerous individual, but a valuable ally." She scoffed. "God approves of him, unlike you. He feels embarrassed looking at you and he was wondering what failure of a god made you."

"Now now...." Ristarte tried to calm things, again. "As I said, violence is not allowed! Also, it's Ristarte-sensei."

"Risa-chan, I know you want us to live a peaceful school life here..." Kazuma slowly started, ignoring the goddess' preferred title. "..but no matter how I think about it... MY CLASSMATES ARE ALL CLEARLY NOT STUDENTS!! WHAT EVEN ARE THESE PEOPLE?!" The adventurer was not having this, just thinking that he's gotta live a school life with these freaks already didn't sound like a good idea to him.

For the first time since the class started, Seiya-sensei finally spoke. "You shouldn't judge people based on appearance. A slime can be as dangerous as a dragon." He said with passion. "Always be cautious."

"No, impossible! How can a slime be- you know what? Nevermind!" Kazuma gives up. He gives up. This makes no sense! "That's not even the issue! I'm classmates with a Priest with his screws completely loose, a Dark Knight, two literal Children, a Mysterious Masked Man or Woman or whatever he is, and maybe even Death himself! You know the worst thing?!" He slammed both hands on the table with a loud 'thud'. "I'm not as cool as all of them! What the hell is this? Some cruel joke or something? Why am I this lame when these guys look cool as heck??"

"God, you're pathetic. Your creator must deeply regret making you since there's no way a god can make that bad of a mistake." The little girl retorted.

Kazuma glared at the military-clad girl. "Can it, small child. God just left me unfinished!"

"I can see why he doesn't want to." She smirked, bringing laughter to half of the class.

"Sorry friend, but you walked into that with your own words." The priest laughed.

"Don't casually call me a friend you freak!" Kazuma retorts.

Two claps resounded on the room, bringing the attention back to the blonde goddess. "Come on guys. Today we'll only be doing the self-introductions and have an easy day. Let's get it done as soon as possible okay?" The class agreed. "Well then, why don't you go first?" Ristarte gestures to the archbishop in front of her. "Tell us something about yourself and what you'll expect out of this class."

The archbishop was more than happy to introduce himself. Standing up with a little chipper to his face, he spoke. "In the witch's cult, I am the Supreme Sin Archbishop of the Seven Sins." He bowed theatrically. "I go by the name of Schwarz Pleiades! Yes!" Schwarz grinned.

"Shiro thinks you're a dangerous individual." The sailor uniform wearing little girl remarked.

The blonde-haired little girl nods. "I know right? God's directions are always correct. It is as he wills it."

"Wow, the little girls are totally blasting you over here." Kazuma laughed. "What a loser- Hahahah!" said the saddest loser out of all of them.

"That's... nice..." Ristarte smiled forcibly (...and rather extreme way of introducing yourself...). "What do you expect out of this class?"

Schwarz giggled. "Why that's simple! Love! LOVE!" He wraps his arms around him. "Familial love, Lustful love, Earnest love, Forbidden love, Pure love, Fake love, I crave for it! It's wonderfully amazing!

The class just started at this weirdo. "...Seiya it's fine, lower your sword." The students didn't even notice the other teacher getting in a battle stance until the goddess said it.

"Don't blame me if he decides to take your head for his weird fetish." Seiya-sensei grumbled.

Ristarte just sighed. (I regret taking this job now.) "Sit down, Schwarz."

(In Yggdrasil, there's no doubt that his class would totally be a [Dark Priest]. A priest devoted to the powers of shadow and mental magic. I highly doubt he has any healing spells at all and I'm rather curious of this cult he's part of. Is that the catalyst of his powers?) Satoru couldn't help but think that way.

This class' students does have an extensive character to them.

"I guess I'm next then." The adventurer stifles his giggles and stands up. "Kazuma. An adventurer. Please get me away from this weirdo."

Seiya's eyes seemed to gleam. "That's the final seating arrangement."

"Why am I sitting next to him anyway!?"

"Just in case he goes out of control, we have the chance to escape as he kills you. It should be fine as long as he's your friend."

"Why do you guys want me dead?!?" He cried. "Kazuma is hurt!"

The blonde goddess just laughed it off. "Hey, Kazuma?"

"Yes. I'm Kazuma." He makes a face that looks like a dog in heat or some sort of weak pathetic virgin. "What can I do for you, Risa-chan?" He tried to sound sexy, but it was just sad.

Ristarte cringed, this guy is hopeless. "Try not to die... also it's Ristarte-sensei."

"Yeah, don't get casual Crapzuma."

"Who said that??" Kazuma screamed. "Wanna throw hands??"

(He doesn't seem like much.... maybe he's simply just an [Adventurer]... the most basic class that's master of nothing but can do everything? That's just a theory for now.) The Guild Master remarked.

The adventurer was swiftly ignored in favor of the next student's introduction.

Her silver hair was eye-catching, with it flowing all the way to her thighs. She was such a small little thing, but she was somehow a high school student here. "Shiro's name is Shiro, Queen of-"

Shiro was interrupted by the noticeable flinch from the Dark Dragon Knight behind her. His thoughts were on one thing. (She's royalty... huh? Royalty.... I will take note of this.)

"A-as I said..." Shiro clears her throat. "Shiro is... the Queen of Elchea Country and the keeper of the King Piece. She's part of... she's..." The girl was silent and started to shake. "Umm... Can you allow Shiro to sit down for now?" She looked melancholic, seemingly longing for someone.

Schwarz looked like he had the same look, but it was gone the split-second it appeared.

The goddess looked concerned, so she allowed her request for now.

(A Queen, huh? She's much too young-looking, did someone die and she was forced to be queen at an early age? Actually, were there ever [Royalty] classes in Yggdrasil?) The overlord does not have enough information on Shiro so for now, he will continue to observe.

"I guess I'm next." The other little girl of the class nods as she stands on her chair to appear more imposing. "Imperial 203rd Aerial Mage Battalion Commander, Major Tanya von Degurechaff." She said in seriousness.

(Commander? Major? Her?) Were the things that went through Ristarte's mind. (Judging by the pattern so far... he would definitely retort to this...)

"What a bold-faced lie!" Kazuma retorts. (Jackpot.)

"Lie? I don't lie, you nasty maggot!" Tanya grinned. "God inhibits my body, because I made a pact with him, in turn, he has granted me supreme power!"

Ristarte doesn't feel great with that. A self-proclaimed god that possesses Tanya and gives her powers... that sounds like bad news. Seiya seemed to think the same based on his subtle glance towards me.

"Hmm..." The masked man seemed curious of that statement.

"Those who speak of gods are the most unreliable." The armored man remarked.

"I know right? God? God?? That seems like such a joke! Gods are useless pieces of crap! Why do you think I'm here in the first place? A useless goddess totally sent me here!"

Seiya smirks in my direction. Yeah yeah, useless goddess... whatever. I've changed too you know? (If only I could tell them that I'm a goddess... but I made a promise not to reveal it...)

([Gunslinger], clearly a [Gunslinger].) The Guild Master thought. (This class are pretty rare. People really just prefer the Medieval aesthetic.)

The two were arguing over gods now... Ristarte had no choice but to break it up and proceed to the next person.

"Please refer to me as Rimuru Tempest for the time being. I'm a great sage that auto-pilots this body." The masked person simply said. The class waited for more out of them and stayed silent... but no matter how long everyone waited nothing more came out of the masked man's mouth.

Ristarte's left eyebrow rose. "Is... is that it?"

"Yes."

"Like, nothing at all? How about you answer questions like: 'What did you do?' or 'Who were you in the past?'"

"Hmm... that." Rimuru was silent in thought. "I guess former Demon Lord would logically make sense."

Kazuma jolted from his seat. "Demon Lord?!"

"Yes."

"You know... you can talk more." Satoru couldn't help but chime in, curious about the Demon Lord part. "What happened, Rimuru?"

"I don't have the permission." The masked-person denied. "Also, refer to me as Tempest. It is the name of our family."

"Duh, that's why it's called family name." Kazuma got swiftly kicked to the side by Schwarz. "Ow! What was that for!?"

"You lack tact, my friend." He simply said.

Shiro who looked like she had recovered, asked a question. "Did a hero defeat you?"

Tempest looked away, clearly not intending to say anything.

Ristarte claps, not letting the awkward atmosphere develop further. "Thanks for telling us in advance, Tempest. So... last question, you don't have to answer if it makes you uncomfortable... but are you a boy?"

"No." Tempest shook their head.

"So you're a girl?"

"No." Another shake.

"So.... a guy?"

"No." Another shake.

"That doesn't make sense..."

"This body has features that allow it to appear both male and female. There's no correct answer." Tempest simply said. "You can use whatever pronouns you want."

(Features?) The overlord thought. (So they weren't a robot as he once thought, but a demon. A doppelganger, or a shape-shifter is the most logical conclusion... but I have a feeling that it's something else. He already said his class is a [Great Sage]. They seem wise, so it makes sense.)

"Is that all the questions?"

"Hmmm..." Ristarte thinks. "What do you expect in this class?"

The great sage was silent for a moment. "I expect answers, it doesn't have to be now... but I'm sure I will get them soon."

"Thank you, Tempest." The goddess smiled. The masked figure sat back.

(As expected of the Great Sage.) Satoru solemnly thought.

The guild master turned slowly to the next person... the person of interest. Who apparently died by the hands of an angel. He stood up, making his armor clink. "The Kingdom of Melromarc affectionately calls me the Shield Demon and I expect you guys to call me that way as well. I don't particularly think it's nice to meet you all." He said in apathy, as if he had given up.

"Aww~ you hot-shot. Don't get all shy on us!" Schwarz remarked happily. "We should be friends~!" Meanwhile in the background, Kazuma is shaking his head and was mouthing a 'no'.

He turns his head away and ignores him, Schwarz looked visibly hurt before muttering incoherently.

Shiro turned to him and stared up in silence.

"What do you want, brat?"

She shakes her head in fear. "N-nothing."

"Will that armor really protect you? Why not take it off?" Tanya asked.

"It will." Shield nods. "This armor is part of me. I will not take it off in front of anyone."

"Doesn't that mean you are stuck inside the armor?" Tanya smirks "What if... someone destroys it for you?"

"You can try, but it will never break." Shield is oddly confident as if it's an irrefutable fact.

Tanya's smirk widened even further, slowly reaching to her eyes. "Wonderful... I accept the challenge!"

"Please don't... no violence, remember?" Ristarte sighed.

"Yes, Ristarte-sensei."

(Still, what Kingdom calls their savior a demon? Judging by his appearance, he could be a [Dark Knight] a knight who's had justice failed him... but in terms of personality, maybe even a [Barbarian] or [Berserker] fits the bill.) The overlord couldn't help but notice the sword hanging on his waist. (Despite having that, he chose to use his shield to fight. I wonder why?)

"Well then, that leaves only you isn't it?" Ristarte finally points to me.

"Hm?" My eyes glowed red. (Now... what to do... The Floor Guardians, as well as the whole Nazarick inhabitants doesn't seem to be here. There's no need to do the grandiose Overlord act anymore. Should I tell them my real name? Should I use my guild name? I must make a decision...)

"What's the matter?"

"It seems we really do have to stay here and live a school life... No matter, I shall introduce myself." I stood up. "I am none other than the Lord of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, Ainz Ooal Gown!" I decided to use my guild name after all... what the heck, me? "Despite my appearance, I do not wish any conflict. I hope we will all coexist in peace." Was that alright? Did that seem Overlord-like? I tried my best you know!!

"You're a kind skelly so Shiro will believe you." The silver-haired child declares.

Kazuma's face scrunched up. "As if. You're scary as hell."

"Gasp!" Schwarz's eyes widened. "You're being mean to mister skeleton!"

"O-ho. Interesting." Tanya simply remarks.

Rimuru stays silent on the corner.

"Please don't call me a mere skeleton... I'm an Elder Lich." What the- they treated my introduction like a joke. I must not be as intimidating as I thought.

"Ainz is surprisingly cute." Kazuma nodded.

Shiro raises a thumbs up.

Tempest nods. "Agreed."

"As much as I hate agreeing with that maggot, yeah. Ainz is adorable." Tanya nods.

"Why not just say the last part you vindictive child." The adventurer grumbled.

Tanya smirks again for the nth time today. "I could, but I won't. Human trash."

"Insufferable brat." Kazuma hissed.

(What about me... I don't want to be called cute...) Ainz feels sad as an evil Overlord. Ulbert would be disappointed with me.

"Okay stop." Ristarte can't tell how much she's had to break fights today. Though she wish the two would just stop. "That concludes all of the self-introductions. You can go to your homes or now."

"Homes?" Shield asked.

"There's an apartment that will house you."

"That's cool and all, but where would it be?" Kazuma asked. "This world is real weird, you know?"

"Hm-m! That's why this world is great. As long as you walk, you will soon find your way. That's just how this world works, don't ask." The goddess pumped out a thumbs up. "Well, then Seiya-sensei and I will have a meeting with the other teachers."

"Other teachers?" Tanya blinked. "There's more of you?"

"Yes, there's even a principal." Seiya answered. "Go home for now, brats. You'll get more info tomorrow, do your best to prepare and be cautious."

"Well... I kinda wonder what's outside the school. So I shall go on my way then." Tempest politely excused themself. One by one, the students file out and went on their way.

The class has been wonderful so far. I hope it continues to be more fun the longer it goes.

Teacher's Meeting

"We're back, everyone!" Ristarte called out as she opened the Faculty Room's doors.

This took the attention of a small guy that looked like a child, who greeted them heartily. "Welcome back, Rista, Sei. How were the children?"

"Bad." Ristarte mumbled sadly. "They were totally different from what they used to be. Some don't even use their real names... I wonder if they even know that their classmates are all from another world. Ehehe~!"

"I'm impressed that you can call them children when you yourself look like a child." Seiya called out.

"Details! Details!" He giggled.

A red-headed man, just sips his tea. "I suppose they were not being good children then if Ristarte looks that haggard."

"Wait what?" Ristarte immediately takes a mirror to check on herself.

"Only about half are being mischievous brats, the rest are behaved. Should not be too much stress for Rista since I will also start to teach soon." Seiya answered.

"Still, this phenomenon is quite intriguing. A world where you can save them by doing nothing." A white haired girl giggles. "I want to observe it up close."

A red-headed short haired girl, just frowns to herself. "Well, this is the first time we attempted this and we even picked a small sample group..."

"It should be fine." The principal declared. "We'll believe in them."

Another girl with long hair that's tied up fumed. "Why am I the vice-principal?? I don't wanna be stuck doing nothing all day. I'm a goddess, a goddess! I shouldn't be cooped up in here?"

The red head giggled. "Darling, we're all gods here."

"I'm not a god." Seiya declares bluntly.

"Me too." The red-headed man chimed in.

"I'm not a goddess too." The white-haired girl added. "In fact, why am I given the opportunity to even be here?"

The child-like god just smiled. "Well, for you... you just kinda reminded us of Old Testament gods with your cruelty. You also have great power too so..."

"As for you..." He looks at the red-headed man. "You're just excessively OP that you're practically a God on your world."

"Seiyaaa~" Ristarte whined. "Don't put yourself down like that! After all you're mister 'God of Heroes' now!" She giggled.

"Please don't use such an embarrassing title for me." Seiya cringed.

"Awwww~ No need to be embarrassed!" She nudged the God of Heroes playfully. "You know what, you can call me with my new title too~ Goddess of Reset! C'mon~!"

"You're insufferable."

Ristarte smirks. "But you love me~"

"...I do."

All the teachers or should I say, gods giggled at the couple's little banter. Just like that, they are reminded that things could turn out okay. The gods wish for a happiness in the near future, no matter how far it is.

How was it? Someone told me last chapter that there's a canonical ending to Slime... I didn't know that. I've only seen the anime version of all these series so it could be helpful if you can tell me about similar things in the future... but please avoid giving away too much spoilers.

Please. I hate being spoiled.

Why are there different names for certain characters?: It's just my headcanon okay? Sorry ><

What's up with that last part?: I'm trying to give this fanfic an actual story. If you think it's unnecessary, please tell me.

Are you looking for more teachers?:Yep. Any god in Isekai will do.

The Queen's Diary

To my dearest brother, Shiro has news for you.

It might sound like such sacrilege for the past versions of us, the [  ]... but Shiro is going to school. It was not as scary as she had thought. Everyone is interesting, there's a nice skelly-man and a great sage that helped Shiro a lot with stopping her tears.

ShIro wants to show her gratitude, but she doesn't know how. She wishes Stephanie was here with me... she had a riajuu life back when she was young, right? She'd know what to do in times like this.

Another little girl is on the class. Her name is Tanya-chan and we're seatmates. She doesn't seem like a bad person, but she's rather extreme.

There's also a dangerous man in black cloak too and his perverted friend. Don't worry, Shiro is smart and will definitely stay away from those people.

Shiro apologizes for failing nii-sama and the kingdom.

I'm sorry, that Shiro is weak.

.

.

.

Oh yeah... before Shiro forgets, there's another man in our class. He wears a Dark Dragon Armor that covers every inch of his body, and he's about the same height as nii-sama... It can't be right?

That wouldn't be you under the armor, right nii-sama?

Is this one of your pranks or tests? Are we playing a game?

Are you role-playing? Do games not exist here so you had to make do?

Were you here the whole time and were waiting for me, nii-sama?

Shiro considers herself smart, but even she cannot figure nii-sama out most of the time.

Today's just the first day of class, tomorrow I'll try to talk to nii-sama... I mean the Dark Knight more.

- Shiro Nai

Meeting Demons

Various beautiful woven cloths hang from their respective racks, making the place seem regal than what it actually is, an Arts and Crafts store. A gust of cold air from the AC didn't faze the Shield Demon as he brought out his fiery shield against the blue-haired person. He didn't think he'd be cornered this soon, but if this person wants to fight... bring it on then!

"What are you doing?" Tempest murmured under the mask. "I'm not trying to hurt you, it's against the rules."

However, he doesn't lower his shield. "I'm not taking any chances. Why else would you be here, but to ambush me?"

"I could ask you the same thing." They sighed. "Why are you here?"

The Shield Demon was silent, it seems he doesn't want to answer the question.

"I'm here since I'm curious about the materials in this world." Tempest raises their hands up in the air as a sign of peace. "There, I said it. I don't have bad intentions."

After a few seconds of the two staring down at each other, the Shield Demon finally lowers his shield.

"Hm... I would've thought you'd demand more out of me, like ask me to take off my mask or something." The former demon lord remarked as they lowered their hands.

Armored man shakes his head. "I could, but that would be hypocritical of me to do." In a blink, the shield on his hand disappears. As if it was part of the armor itself. "You stay away from me and I will stay away from you. That acceptable?"

The former demon lord nods. "I'm fine by that terms... however, since we're both alone I want to take this opportunity to ask you a question. Will you allow me?"

He silently gives an approval.

"Did you die?"

"What?" It seems like that's the last thing he expected. "What do you mean?"

"Before I came to this world, I vividly remember this body dying. Ainz had told me about your... fate, so I wanted to confirm it."

"That skeleton, huh?" The Shield Demon hummed. "Whatever he said to you is correct. I was killed and I will not entertain further questioning."

Tempest bows. "Thank you, I shall be on my way."

"Go nuts, kid." He waved away.

.

.

.

After waiting for a few moments for the Shield Demon's form to disappear within the store, Tempest sighs. What a rather frightening individual.(That's one confirmed. I'll just have to go ahead and talk to the others, but for now....)

"Let's pick up some materials. I'm sure Rimuru would be excited with the materials that I have once he returns." (If he returns.)

The Great Sage goes on his way, trying to stop the negative thoughts trying to surface. Until the day he returns, I will hold it in and do my best in his place.

Tanya's Worries

"Imperial 203rd Aerial Mage Battalion Commander, Major Tanya von Degurechaff." I murmured to myself in my empty apartment. This was already her second day in this world and she feels rather sentimental today.

That's what I said to my "classmates" that day and in fact, I didn't lie... I just gave them my old rank. If you're a person of power, people will naturally gravitate towards you and either worship or fear you.

It's the second option that scares me the most.

Fear gets associated as something bad by most people, but I honestly think that it's a much more powerful emotion. It drives creativity, change, and most importantly, a revolution. I can't let them know of who I really am, and how important I truly was.

I won't deny that I love the brief respite this weird world has given me. There are no threats to my life, no more scent of gunpowder and coal, and there aren't multiple people looking for me to guide them.

Honestly, people back there are such babies, can't survive without orders. Erich is such a darling for getting them off of my back.

"Yet... even with this peace..." I stared outside my apartment window. "Something still feels wrong... I'll have to find a way to go back." Can I even go back after what happened? After that betrayal?

"Why do you want to return? Are you really at peace living like that in that world?" A voice reverberated in my mind. "This world is likely peaceful, like what you have been craving."

Tanya's eye twitched. "I toiled hard for the peace in that world! No way I'm just gonna up and leave after all's said and done. I want the cake that I've rightfully earned." With the cake being the Empire itself.

"If that is your wish. This world is still unknown, my faithful lamb. We'll find a way to return, no matter what."

"Easy for you to say, you weren't the one to-"

A ringing starts to echo in my mind, completely debilitating me as I clutched my head tighter. "Use your words correctly against me. I gave you power, I expect you to worship me."

"F-forgive me, mighty one."

In that very instant, the pain and the ringing was gone as if it were never there. Tanya sighs in relief. To stay on the safe side, she decides to change the subject.

"That Tempest person's assessment of this world, is it correct?" Tanya asked warily. She still can't believe the implications that came out from the observations of the Great Sage. It happened hours ago and she still can't help but still think about it.

"Correct. This world is not the same as any other worlds I've reincarnated people in."

Hearing that confirmation brings Tanya down further.

-o- FLASHBACK -o-

We were on our second day of class, this time Ristarte-sensei was on the backseat as Seiya-sensei gave his class orientation.

Personally, Tanya found it interesting. The lessons weren't boring things that I've already went through already in my past two lives as my salaryman-self and my soldier-self. In fact, the lessons consists of things we can learn on each other's worlds. The magic systems, the vegetation, the wildlife, fighting styles, and whatever they decided they wanted to teach.

In Seiya-sensei's own words. "We just want you guys to learn, if you guys find it interesting then we'll expand on it."

However, the thing he emphasized were hands-on activities. He's unwilling to release more details about it... but at least he has given us flyers to out first activity as a class. The date is still not set though which was weird.

Everything was going smoothly, until Kazuma and I broke into a fight again. Ristarte quickly stood up to break both of us up and began scolding us. "Please guys! We need you to get along or else you'll get into problems...." She chided.

"Hm... I see." Tempest remarked.

"What is it, Great Sage?" Shiro entertained them.

They stand up. "As Ristarte-sensei has implied, anything that could endanger a 'peaceful school' life will bring us trouble."

"Yeah. She said that." Kazuma retorts. "Whatcha trying to imply?"

"I'm not done yet." Tempest sighed. "I assume that we are all trapped in this world and are forced to be its students. I don't know what kind of entities the teachers are maybe they are even artificial, but this world seems to be enveloped in some kind of strange power that causes those who are 'breaking the rules' to have punishment, basically causing them I assume, to not be able to go home." They raise a finger to emphasize their words. "The ones behind this world are clearly powerful, since there are: no concept of space, repeating characters in the shops around here, and even some rooms in the school is inaccessible. Am I correct?"

Ristarte seemed to sweat under her collar, but Seiya kept a stoic face. "The answers to that will come in everyone's graduation."

The Great Sage sighed. "I suppose answers aren't gonna come out this early in. Fine."

"Graduation?" Shiro gasped in surprise.

"So this too, will end." Shield pondered.

"How long would that be though?" Kazuma sighs. "God, I hate school so much."

Tanya was gonna add her thoughts, but held it in when god asked- no, forced her to. The others were silent, contemplating Tempest's words.

-o- FLASHBACK END -o-

That surprised the soldier. "Can I get some solid proof?" A small glimmer of hope for her to return.

"About the no concept of space, he's slightly correct. This world's does not follow the fundamental rules of space. As the woman has said, when you will it, your feet will take you there. Regardless of whoever's the orchestrator of this mess, a god's power is involved whether it is the orchestrator or an accomplice."

"Seems dangerous." I can't outmatch that person, even with god's grace. I better obey for now.

She can feel him being scared, it was unusual. "It's best to follow rules of the authority for now."

"Following rules is my thing, don't worry." She nods to herself.

(Yeah, no worries. I'll stand on top of this like always. I will win.)

The Shield Demon and his Ducklings

"Hey, you know..." Shield sighed. "Will you guys stop following me?" He glared at the two obnoxious figures behind him.

One was in a form of a little girl, while the other was covered in dark cloth. In Shield's mind, it was an unusual sight. The royalty and the dangerous-looking crazed man. What an odd pair that decided they wanted to stalk me.

"What do you want?" At this point, he has pointed his shield to three people and none were intimidated whatsover. He decided to just drop it.

"Kazuma does not want to hang out! He's shot me down twice already! It makes me sad! So sad!!" The Archbishop wraps his arms around his body, clearly trying to convey the word 'sad'. The other girl was just silent, trying to stare me down.

(So that's how it is, huh? Already trying to find ways to break me? What a joke. Even the royalty over here in this world also wants to destroy me. )

"I don't care. Find something fun to do." He walks away again, attempting to shrug-off the priest. Just as I was about to turn away, something holds me back from moving. It felt like a strong grip on both my hands and feet, as if it was stopping me from running away.

Behind the little girl was the Archbishop, smiling knowingly. "Oh~? What do you do for fun?" He asks sweetly.

(What is this guy....?) He's the one using this technique right? This Archbishop will use his abilities, just to keep me from running away? (How absurd.) I stared at my right arm, I can use my Shield of Wrath to get free... but with this little girl who has no magic or combat capabilities being so close and unaware of the situation... using my Shield of Wrath here guarantees that she'll die.

This guy is crafty, truly a dangerous individual.

Wait... maybe this is a trap. The two collaborated, and this girl is acting as his meat shield. They'll torment me, somehow. I should use my Shield of Wrath anyways but... Tempest's words from earlier echoed. (What if the punishment is different? That there's something else other than not being able to go back? I can't take any chances.)

"I won't tell you for now. Though if you get me materials, I might." (A vague answer for sure, but this is the most neutral thing I can say.)

The gripping feeling from my limbs were gone. "Awww~ Shield-chan is swo shy~" He giggles. "Hey~ hey~ I totally want to help you search for materials! If you and I share a secret, we're totally gonna be best friends!"

(This guy's logic is off non-existent.) "Have it your way. Follow me if you want, but don't bother me."

"Aye aye captain!" He shoots both arms up in the air, trying to act cute. It obviously works on the little girl as she too, nods and bumps her fist up in the air.

With that, the two followed the Shield much like a duckling would for its mother.

The Shield Demon walks in through the mall in silence as the Archbishop bothered the little girl. Who keeps on ignoring him.

"Hey, your hair is getting long... how about I put them into twin drills? They'll appear shorter and you'll look cute~!" He fawned over the little girl as if there's no tomorrow.

Shield ignores them in favor of searching the store for precious metals. Yesterday he found the power-tools, next he'll need to find actual materials and get their price and to find out if they'll agree to getting his custom accessories being sold in stores.

Now that he had nothing to do, he found himself falling back to his old ways. He'll try jewel-crafting first and see what it'll do for him, if the store allows it... he can also earn money.

For what? He does not know. He just needed something to spend his time with to get away from his thoughts.

He can sense the two just goofing off somewhere playing tag albeit unwillingly in that little girl's part. (What happened to helping me find materials?) I should've expected this, I can't expect children to take things seriously...

I eventually found it, but of course I don't have enough money, but they'll accept my accessories anyways. So that's nice of them to do.

The day seems complete to me for now. I'll consider getting multiple part-time jobs, for the heck of it. I initially wondered what the two were up to and instantly wished that I hadn't because as the saying goes... speak of the devil and he shall come. The two found me.

"Seems like you found your own fun things to do." I raised an eyebrow to the little girl, who was now sporting twin drills.

The Archbishop nods. "Sorry about the material thing, tell me more about it later- but look at her isn't she cute???"

"I don't care."

"That was instant?!" He screeched. "Are you angry about the material collecting?"

I turned away to leave, I'm so done with this guy who has a broken logic.

He laughed and gave up in giving chase. "Stay safe on the way home~ Tell me more about what you found tomorrow~!!" The Archbishop waved goodbye to the retreating back of the edgy Defender.

Shiro didn't seem happy with him going away, even more so when he didn't turn back even once and just went on his way.

"Aw... you missed your chance talking to him." Schwarz sighs.

The queen pouts. "Shiro thinks it's your fault."

"Is it really?" The Archbishop grinned from ear to ear.

"What do you mean?"

"The loneliness that you feel, the solution is~" He waves his hands around in a circular motion dramatically and, with a flamboyant raise of hand, points to his heart. "-in here!"

Shiro was even more confused. (Loneliness? What?)

"You'll learn it someday! What matters is if you'll be okay with the answer~" He giggled. "Let's become closer and closer and become friends, okay~?"

The white-haired girl didn't completely trust the eccentric guy... so she'll have to hold the thought and gave him a nod for now.

With that, the two also went to their respective homes.

Kazuma's Realization

"....and that concludes the lesson for today." Seiya sighed as the school bell rings for lunch. "The activity's schedule will be announced this afternoon. As always, be ready perfect."

Kazuma for one, is glad that it's over. It's only the third day of class man, no one really cares about lessons for now! Of course the slave-driver sadistic teacher wants to rush education.

Just because. Maybe...? I don't know. I didn't actually listen at all... if push comes to shove, I'll just ask that Tempest guy.. or girl... or whatever the heck that person is.

Now comes the hard part, that one dreaded thing I try to avoid each lunch time. (I'm sure that guy will...) I turned slowly to this secret Aqua and Darkness lovechild that's somehow declared himself to be my friend.

Of course, he is none other than Schwarz Pleiades.

He's been pestering me for three days straight to 'hang out' and it's gotten to the point where I don't even mind getting killed by this guy anymore. Normally I wouldn't mind being popular to others... but there's just one problem.

This school is a sausage party!

What the heck?! Even if I do get popular here for some reason, the only other people here are men. Where are all the women?? Why are my only female classmates just a pair of loli's?? I want a woman not a child!

Well I don't know about Tempest... but he or she or- y'know what? Let's go with he. He's probably ugly under that mask.

Of course, Risa-chan is there... but I sense some sort of thing between the two teachers... nah, not just sense.... I can see it. You know why...? Cause they're effing obvious about it.

Out of nowhere they hit on, giggle while sneaking glances, and sometimes even some sort of adorable banter with each other!

Just like that, the only woman is gone. Poof. Nadda. Zip. Gone. Whatever.

He has no choice but stare at these men and he's noticed that they don't seem troubled over the lack of women?? Either they're all gay, (probably Schwarz) can't even fall in love, (definitely Ainz) or worse... they all have some sweetheart waiting for them at home.

Kazuma is jealous! He is jealous! Not only do they all look cool and have cool sounding names, they also have girlfriends?? Cheats! I call cheats!

What's with all these high-spec people?? It's as if they reached the ending of their games while I got killed at the secret boss in the beginning!

No Women. Awful Stats. Garbage Gear. God I hate this so much, nah not because I'm jealous... but because I'm extremely bored. Sure he got transported here for some reason unknown... and he finally has freedom to actually do nothing and just relax or something but whatever. I'm unsatisfied, and I don't know why.

(Wait, shit....) I paused in realization. (I'm totally the Aqua to Schwarz's Darkness and Tanya's Megumin. Fuck. I'm the useless one.) I sighed.... if I'm gonna be the Aqua then I'll make full use of uselessness and start leeching off of people! First, let's start off with the gullible one...

"Hey Schwarz~! Wanna hang out~?" I faked my enthusiasm through my teeth. "No need for an answer, I know yo- eh...?" Schwarz is gone from his seat! Where-

From across the classroom was Schwarz, talking excitedly to the Shield Demon. He finally notices me and gives off an apologetic smile. "Sorry Kazuma- I'm hanging out with Shield today!"

No way. Shield Demon?? The unsociable, unapproachable one? That must be a- "Hm. Hurry up and get your stuff. We'll meet at the spot we talked about." THEY REALLY ARE HANGING OUT!??!

"You can go ahead first, I'll buy my lunch at the cafeteria first." He waved the Shield Demon a goodbye as he walks away.

Schwarz hurriedly grabs his stuff and murmured an apology, "Sorry, friend. Shield and I will have a private conversation so I can't invite you with us... though let's hang out tomorrow!" He rushes away with a silly grin on his face.

My face contorts in displeasure. Of course, that one moment I want to give him my time he becomes useless.

Well, Kazuma will always do things his own way. This will be just like his old world back in Japan.

Kazuma will be... He will be... What will he be?

(What the heck do I do now? I didn't realize that...)

.

.

.

It would hurt as much as it did.

Powerful Lords' Secret Meeting

Under the rooftop's blue sky, two powerful beings congregated for the little meeting that they decided after finding out their similarities. These two lords do not need sustenance and therefore had nothing to do for lunch. After seeing the common point of their similarities and not having much to do, they decided to meet up every once in a while to trade information.

That was the situation wasn't it? (I'm honestly surprised that I've maintained contact with the Great Sage, though it made sense. Even though all of the students were joking around me, I can sense their hesitance to approach me. Only Tempest and Shiro are willing to approach me.) Ainz thought.

"Good day, Ainz." Tempest greets in the same monotone voice.

I nod. "Good day, Tempest." I answered with the same enthusiasm. "Let's get right down to business. I want to report what happened with my experiments outside school."

"Go ahead."

"Two days ago, I found a huge sports stadium of some kind, I deemed it suitable to use for my magic experiments."

Tempest raises their head. "How did it go?"

"I can use every single one of my spells, no matter what Tier they are. Though that's not really the most interesting part."

"What is it then?"

"It restores. Everything restores back to normal as if nothing had ever happened. Damages and area casualties vanish into thin air." Ainz really can't imagine why this happens. It's not like the particular place was beautiful, it was a basic sports stadium. Unremarkable. It seems like Tempest is interested in that fact themselves.

"So Tempest, how are your observations?" I asked.

"No new information is acquired, however I've wanted to investigate a peculiar quirk of the school and decided to start yesterday afternoon." Tempest shares their data. "The teachers claimed to have colleagues, but I haven't seen a single soul yet. Thoroughly searching the school did not help, as was breaking in on the faculty room." Tempest sighed under their mask. "I haven't even solved the past questions I have about this world... but this observation renders new questions."

(Holy crap, Tempest is insane for actually finding the resolve to break in) "What would that be?" I asked, though for me... I think Tempest is over-thinking things.

They nod. "These questions all boil down to..." Tempest shifts and materializes a white board with a stand and draws out a marker from their pockets. With it, they write their questions.

  1. Are the teachers lying to make us feel threatened by their so-called unknown numbers?
  2. Are they speaking of truth, but the teachers aren't in the school?
  3. Same as above, but I can not sense nor find them.

"I understand your doubts." Though I don't think any of those are true. I think Ristarte-sensei herself said the answer to this question. "That's just how this world works, don't ask." This might even be divine intervention, or a devil's work. With how miracles such as space not existing outside the school, there can only be one explanation and that it's a work of a great powerful being.

Now that I think about it... this world feels like a video game!

Things are unlocked the further the story goes, fast-traveling is possible, and there's even interesting characters gathered in one place.

What else could it be? I doubt Tempest knows what a video game is... this is troubling.

"What is it Ainz? Do you have theories regarding the situation?" Tempest asks, already erasing things written in the white board.

I waved a hand in dismissal. "Sorry, I don't. Though there's something else I'd like to talk about."

"Hm?" They paused, the white board not even completely erased. "What else is there?"

"The fact that I can cast most of my spells is quite alarming, because that might also apply to everyone else." I've been thinking this for a while, that despite the peaceful atmosphere the two teachers provided, there could be special circumstances that might cause the others to snap. "With this, I propose an analysis to all of our classmate's abilities. The teacher's power-levels are also unknown, so we should also count them into the equation."

However, before Tempest could answer a voice of a little girl giggles, bringing us two on edge. (When did she-?!)

"Your discussion sounds interesting... shall I join?" From behind the door was Tanya von Degurechaff who smiled much like a Demon Lord would.

Defender and Priest with Strategist

"Sorry! Sorry I rant late!" Schwarz ran towards me in a hurry, cafeteria food in hand.

I acknowledged his existence with a nod, and gestures for him to sit down. "Nevermind that, you could always take your time. I'm not going anywhere."

He smiled. Why is he looking at me like that? "Still, I'm surprised you called me over here... did you really want to talk about materials that much?" He asked, with his aura sparkling like that of the stars.

"I'm not." I started. "In fact, there's something I've started to notice up until-" However, he gets interrupted by the royalty, who appears to have followed Schwarz. "Really? Did you really just do this?"

"Ah... well, sorry!" He sticks his tongue out with an added tee-hee~! Normally, this would anger me, but I need to win this guy over to my side. (Deep breaths. Calm Down.)

"Um... is it okay for Shiro to join you guys?" The queen asks.

(I don't want any royals around me.) "Do what you want. However, don't come near me. Sit over there." I pointed to the bench across us, it's far enough that someone can't hear us if we both talk quietly.

Surpsingly, she didn't argue any further and sat far away from us, this obviously didn't please Schwarz, but... "I need to talk to you about something, and I don't want her to know... yet." (Honestly, I prefer her out of the picture.)

"Whassit?" He answers while eating.

I sighed. Have I really fallen this low to ask someone for help? (However...) Everything will depend on his answer with this question. "Are you enjoying your life in this new world?"

"Hmm..." He swallows before answering. "Sure do! The future of the country, world peace, those problems just go bloop!" He laughs. "Food here is great, everyone can be a friend, I'm happy here!"

My left eye twitched, can he be any louder? "Someone is threatening it."

"Hmmmngeh?!" He chokes on his food. Of course. How often will I sigh around this guy?

"For now, I can identify Ainz and Tempest working out this world and maybe attempt to destroy it. I don't want to take any chances in case they succeed." I stared up underneath the lights peeking under the tree's leaves. "This might not mean much to you, but I want to stay in this world. I can't take those two alone, I need allies and I want you to join me."

"I... don't want to hurt anyone... especially potential friends..." Schwarz started. "However, I will do what I must just to stay here longer and be friends with everyone. I will join."

What a fresh air of relief. Now, to establish loyalty... "To prove my loyalty to you..." I let my Shield of Wrath materialize. "This is my shield, the Shield of Wrath." I let Schwarz take in the information first and let him ask questions.

Soon enough, one emerged. "What does it do...?"

"It allows me to call upon the rage of Dragons." (As well as my own.) "It does not have any other effects." (Aside from burning me inside out in pain with a dark curse.)

Schwarz nods in that information. "How about that sword in your hip? Do you use that?"

"This... I don't." I let the cold electric feeling of the Magic Steel Sword travel on my fingers. A moment to remember her. "I don't use swords."

"Oh." Schwarz nods. "Well then, as my sign of own loyalty..."

I felt a hand brush my shoulder, even though nothing was there. "What was that? Is it the thing you used on me yesterday?"

He gives another nod. "It's my special ability, The Authority of Sloth: The Unseen Hand. I can summon five hands."

(Just enough to pin down four limbs....) "I see." I nod. (He mentioned being the Archbishop of Seven Sins... and he has only used one so far. He probably deems it to not be worth his effort. It seems I was right to approach him.)

"Hey, why not include Shiro too?" Schwarz suggested gesturing to the lone girl far away.

That suggestion was strange, he wants to include a child with us? "Why?" We could very well be annihilated by those monsters, we don't need a dead weight.

He shrugs. "She can be great on her own ways too y'know?"

"I beg to differ. How can a weak little Royal benefit us if she does not have the whole court on her side?" (That's all they are, hiding behind their court... laughing in other people's misery.)

"You should spend time with her to know."

That ticked me off. "I refuse."

"C'mon~!!"

"About the materials-"

"Ah! You changed the subject!" Schwarz pouts.

I shook my head. "If you knew, then let me change it."

"Fine, but Shiro will now sit with us!" Schwarz demanded.

(Crafty thing.) "Hn." I agreed.

"Hey~! Shiro come sit with us!!" He waves both hands to the little girl.

Schwarz and I, as well as that little royal girl spent the lunch time talking more about materials found in our own respective worlds. Also, Schwarz is now wondering how I eat with this armor and helmet on.

Some mysteries will never be solved, Schwarz.

Let's just leave it at that.

Teacher's Insight

"We're going to have a civil war." Seiya remarked from out of nowhere.

"What?!" Ristarte exclaimed. "What do you mean Seiya??"

"I mean the students are getting to know each other better." He shrugs.

The goddess didn't like how he's just shrugging it off. "I definitely heard war!"

"Perhaps this little war thing could liven things up."

"Gosh! Seiyaaaaaaa-" Ristarte pouts. "Take this seriously, won't you??"

"We're their teachers, their advisors Rista. We are not their parents." Seiya bluntly said. "They have to learn on their own."

"I hate this, Seiya..." She sighs.

"We're here to guide them. Don't worry." He sighs. "Interfering too much won't be good for growth."

"I know that. I know that!!"

"Let's have faith on the children, yeah?" He smiles.

Ristarte is always weak against those small smiles he did. Goddamn him for being so handsome! Ugh! "Fine, but I have the right to interfere when things go bad."

"I'd be the first one to do that, if it ever happens." He gives a casual pat on the head as he walks back to the Faculty Room, now with Rista catching up with him and walking by his side.

(I wonder if they even want to return... now that they've experienced such things...)

Notes:

I dont know if my writing has improved with the POV, i'll prolly mess up even more on my next upload lol

Subaru was supposed to have a line like:

"Honestly, this is the first time I didn't pin someone's legs and arms just so the fifth hand can twist the head! Ahaha~!" He seemed to be embarrassed by that.

and i dont know i just find that funny to think about what the other classmates reactions would be xD

Also, I find it funny that Naofumi, Subaru, and Shiro's classes are basically: Defender, Priest, and Strategist and it forms DPS but none of those classes are known for their fighting ability/damage dealing qualities. Oh the irony.

Activity Preparations

It's finally afternoon, huh? I stared out the window and sighed, pulling my dark robes loose to cover my body. He knew that cool weather is preferred to warm, since you can bundle up as much as you like, but I've never felt okay with feeling even the slightest of cold anymore. I wish I could put my hood up, but that would be rude to the teachers.

(No! Stop thinking about those things!) I shook my head, trying to shift my thoughts. (Come to think about it, Shield really doesn't seem to want to go back to his world...) ...much like me. (I wonder why...? O-oh... oh no... I can't... I can't wait to find out....) I giggled to myself, and as if on cue, Kazuma makes a rather disgusted face.

Though I didn't care, the only thing to snap me out was a sudden sound. It was Ristarte-sensei clapping her hands in delight. "Well then class, about our activity..."

(Act... tivity...? Ah... I already forgot about that... well...) I raised my hand, taking the attention of both teachers.

"What is it, Schwarz?" Seiya-sensei raised an eyebrow questioningly.

I beamed a little smile before asking. "What is this... activity? Cuz I forgot! Tee-hee!" Add that with a wink plus a giggle and practically everyone is groaning. Works everytime!

"Well, Schwarz... the whole class is doing a scavenger hunt... did you listen yesterday?" Ristarte-sensei smiled uneasily. She isn't really that confident with this teaching thing, is she? Ah, but she's trying her best! What a great devoted love she has for us students! (How wonderful.... it makes me tremble... to think she loves us this much...)

I shuffled round and about to hide my excitement before shrugging. "Maybe!"

"Idiot." Kazuma laughed under his breath.

Tempest sighed from their seat. "Just so we're clear, everyone knows what a scavenger hunt is, right?"

(Was that directed at me? Oh, Tempest... you're so adorable.) "Maybeeeeee....?" I made sure to stretch out the last syllable. (Aw, they're annoyed. Ahaha~! Though there's no reason to lie.) "Nah, I kid. It's a game where you search around an area to find.... stuff... right?"

A series of nods just goes through the students. (Do they think I'm dim just because I use shadow magic? Ah, I wish I had accomplices to share my puns with!) Another giggle escaped, whoops! Don't want them to think I'm too crazy!

"Yes that's right." Ristarte-sensei smiles. "Right now, everyone will have to form the groupings."

"Hm? How do we decide that?" Tanya frowns, "Do we get to choose who's on the team? I'd rather not have Crapzuma on my team."

The adventurer just glares at her. "Why do you always single me out?? Do you like me or something?"

"You're even a lolicon? Gross."

"Listen here you small child-" Seems like Kazuma forgot that she can obliterate him in seconds. "-I have had enough with this and I demand respect!"

"Now now..." Seiya-sensei's eyes glint. That's not a great sign for us. "We determine teams... by drawing lots!"

The whole class froze for a second, before complaints started rushing out.

"No." The God of Heroes denied their pleas. "We want you guys to get along in this activity. We don't want you to hand-pick teammates that you think are gonna make you win instead of doing this activity to make friends. Drawing lots will hopefully get an interesting combination."

(Makes sense....) I nodded at his idea. (Hopefully I get teamed up with Kazuma.) I shot him a hopeful smile, which was promptly responded with a glare. Of course.

Ristarte-sensei pulls out the drawing box underneath the teacher's desk. "Well then, shall we get it started?"

.

.

.

In about thirty minutes, the teams have been decided.

They were written accordingly on the board in Ristarte-sensei's beautiful handwriting.

TEAM A : Shield, Schwarz, Shiro

TEAM B : Tempest, Ainz, Tanya

??? : Kazuma

I glared at the board. (It can't be...) I shot a knowing look in Shield's direction. Though with his armor on, I can't tell if he got my signal or not.

"Well then, the groupings have been decided!" The blonde goddess smiles. "Any questions?"

"Risa-chan~" Kazuma starts.

Ristarte's left eye twitched from the nickname. "It's Ristarte-sensei, Kazuma. What is it?"

"Why am I singled out?" He scrunched his face up in confusion. I looked at it blankly... (So he's the neutral faction huh?)

Seiya-sensei steps in. "As you can see, if I add you to one of the teams... an imbalance will exist. Scavenger hunt is all about how quick your team can gather the specified items... and with one player more it introduces an unfair advantage. As for why it's you, well... your name just happened to be drawn last."

"Eh....?"

"You will have a special role, you will learn more about this tomorrow."

Everyone just looked confused. "Tomorrow?"

"Yes. Since tomorrow's the scavenger hunt! Hooray!" Ristarte-sensei giggled.

"Wha- WHAAAAAAAAATTTT?!?"

(Tomorrow! Tch....) I cast a concealment spell on me and openly glared at the two teachers. We've got tomorrow to do this?

The two's eyes met mine. They saw through my spell.

How powerful are these two?!

The classroom became to chaotic that they deemed it to be dismissal. Seems like they want us to talk among ourselves... what a perfect idea. That's what we need right now... the drawings could not have been a coincidence!

They knew what they were doing.

I need to tell this to the others...

That the two of them...

I Want To Go Home Club

"The two of them are planning to use this 'Scavenger Hunt' to settle things." Tempest bluntly said, catching both Tanya and I in surprise.

"Hmmm-?" What? How could this have happened?

The blonde girl just sighs and slumps down. "Of course.... this peaceful world also has a mini war." She sighs.

"Any ideas on why it might've happened?" Tempest draws out a board. "A peaceful outcome might be reached if we knew the root cause of the issue in the first place."

Tanya just waves the thought away. "Don't bother since you can't take it back anymore."

"What do you mean? Explain." I... really can't put on my overlord act without my NPC's huh... how pathetic am I?

"The other group doesn't like something you did... but it's only been three/four days!" She finished the last bit with a girlish voice. "That doesn't matter! You did something to provoke them."

"All I did was to do experiments on the rules in this world with Ainz and to see if I can find a way for everyone to get back." Tempest admitted. "Isn't that what everyone wanted?"

I shook my head. "Clearly not. The other party is displeased with what we're trying to achieve and want to put an end to it. Come to think of it, I give props to the teachers who tried to mitigate this 'war' by enforcing the no violence ban with a battle that doesn't have to involve fighting."

"Wonderful deductions." Tanya sighs. "Doesn't help that this 'war' is still happening."

"Will they grant the winner a prize, for example... going home?" Tempest asked hopefully.

Tanya laughed. The bone-chilling type of laugh that crawls all over your veins and turns you cold. "OF COURSE NOT!" She giggled. "They want us to fight it out and you know what? I'm all in. Bring it on. We will win this stupid childish war."

"You're rather confident with yourself." Tempest remarked.

"Of course." She scoffed. "I need you two to take this seriously. This is an all-in situation. Let's show them what we can do."

The two stood in silence, Tempest's logical arguments and my own suggestions for a peaceful resolution didn't seem to matter after hearing her words. Once she spoke, she somehow has the ability to draw all of the people on her cause.

Was it a form of brainwashing?

An Autosuggestion?

Is it just her natural charisma?

Ainz didn't know... but somehow this girl.... is just... (Uwah.... she's a better Overlord than me....)

Notes:

Subaru's convo with Naofumi and Shiro also goes about the same way as Ainz and co. did, so I didn't bother writing it anymore.

I feel kinda confused trying to connect plot-point to plot point but that doesn't matter cuz I'm slowly uploading stuff. Sorry for not responding to comments, I've just been stressed out lately.

See you on the next chapter.

Orientation

The day has finally come.

Our first activity, Scavenger Hunt! All seven of us lined up in front of the class. The two teachers handed all of us the list of items we have to get.

All of us stared at the list in disdain... well, isn't that lovely...?

Team A's list:

  1. Red Book
  2. Perfectly Round Rock
  3. Haybale
  4. Syringe
  5. Tanya's Brooch

Team B's list:

  1. Blue Book
  2. Grasshopper
  3. Apple
  4. Bandages
  5. Shiro's Crown

Man, can they be more subtle about things? The last thing is totally asking us to fight each other.

"That's the items you need to collect. Seems rather simple, no?" Seiya-sensei remarked.

The two teams didn't seem to agree though. "Come on guys, cheer up?" Ristarte tried to add a little cheer. "Isn't this a good chance to explore the school?"

"We're all in on this, but I'm afraid the three of us shall win this." Tempest announced rather confidently.

"Nah, I'm gonna have to stop you right there." Schwarz points to the masked person. "We will win."

"Oh-hoho no!." Tanya growled. "Don't even think about winning. I'm blessed by my god to always bring victories. I suggest you drop thoughts of winning now."*

Shield sighs. "Calm your temper, child."

"Ummm- why don't we just treat this as a friendly-" Ainz and Shiro started but was interrupted by the angry glares of their respective team mates.

All of the 'students' sized each other up, making one thing clear... 'Our ideals is the right one, we'll win.' Everyone can feel the raging energy between the two teams, except Kazuma, who remained oblivious... still thinking of his new 'role' that the teachers gave earlier in secret.

(God am I really going to have to do that...?) He thought with a grimace.

"Now, here are the rules!" Seiya announced.

  • COLLECT THE RIGHT ITEMS LISTED ON THE CHECKLIST GIVEN TO YOUR TEAM
  • BRING THEM BACK SAFELY IN THIS CLASSROOM ONCE YOU'VE COLLECTED ALL OF THEM
  • THE TEAMS MUST STICK TOGETHER UNTIL THEY HAVE COLLECTED ALL ITEMS

"Excuse me sensei!" Schwarz raises his hand. "About the third rule-"

"What of it?" Seiya-sensei raises an eyebrow.

"Can we really not obtain the items on our own...?" He explains, waving his hands around. "Wouldn't that be easier?"

Ristarte-sensei jumps forward with a: "You can't!" She wags her finger. "After all, the Ultimate purpose of this activity is for you guys to explore the school! Nothing else!"

(We all know that's a lie...) The students all thought.

"Can you even know if someone broke the rule?" Tempest asked.

The blonde teacher nods. "Of course."

"How?"

"Reasons." She shrugged. "That's just how this crossover fanfi- I mean world, works. Stop questioning it-"

Tempest didn't seem satisfied with the answer. "But-"

"Nope." The teacher shut it down immediately. "Any further questions? If not, then let's get it started already!"

Everyone nods.

"Okay then... in a count of three, we shall start!"

That got all the students ready and snapped back to reality. This isn't just some game of Scavenger Hunt... it's a game of ideals... and whoever wins proves their goals. They each met eyes with each other.

"1..."

Though wary of their enemies, they couldn't help the excitement of this game.

"2..."

This is it. We shall settle things!

"3... Start!" Ristarte-sensei's call started a chain reaction. Eventually, the participants and the teacher's vision faded into darkness with one simple spell.
