Dabi hated the days he had to work overnight. The shifts were long and boring, everyone was asleep so it wasn’t he could message someone to keep himself entertained like that. And to top it all off he couldn’t sleep next to his boyfriend, Tomura. He was always exhausted after these shifts so it was a relief when he saw the door to there apartment in the early hours of the morning. He struggled with his keys for a moment before getting the door open. He didn’t bother to announce his presence more than dropping his keys on the counter and floating to the bedroom to lay next to his boyfriend for an hour before Tomura got up. He paused in the doorway to their bedroom for a moment to take in the scene in front of him. Tomura was laying in bed asleep wearing one of Dabi’s shirts and cuddling his pillow. Seemed like Tomura missed him too. He quietly moved further into the bedroom to undress down to his boxers and climbed into bed next to Tomura falling asleep almost instantly.
He stirs awake at the feeling of Tomura getting up and cracks his eyes to watch his boyfriend stretch and walk to the bathroom. He closes his eyes again and must have drifted off because the next thing he knew Tomura was sitting on the bed next to him with his DS in hand.
“Don’t you got work,” he slurred groggily as he shifted closer. Tomura smiles at him tangling one hand in Dabi’s hair.
“Nah, finished the project early so Kurogiri gave me the day off.”
Dabi hummed moving over to lay his head on Tomura’s stomach with his eyes closed. Tomura huffed out what was probably a laugh and shifted them both so Dabi was fully in Tomura’s lap. Dabi wrapped his arms around his boyfriend’s waist and nuzzled into his stomach. As he drifted back to sleep he whispered a quiet I love you and smiled as it was returned.
Damn, he loved overnight shifts.
