Hitoshi exists in a state of confusion for a good few days. Nothing is wrong (mostly), but nothing is — normal, either? It’s not something he’s uncomfortable with nor does it make him feel like he wants to crawl into his closet until it’s over . . . it’s just something he’d really like someone to explain.
See, his friends keep kissing him.
It’s not because of a quirk—he’d dragged Midoriya to Recover Girl when it happened, and then he dragged Bakugo, and then he dragged . . . Point is, they aren’t under the influence of a quirk. Recovery Girl kindly said something about hormones and crushes, but Hitoshi kind of blanked out at that point.
He has a cork board of information that would make Todoroki (and any other diehard theorist) proud. His desk is messy enough that it’d make Iida weep (and lecture). It’s been nearly a week and Hitoshi has been kissed at least once by his friends.
They were on the cheek and forehead—though Shoji pecked him on the nose, and Tokoyami did a preening thing to the front of his hair—and didn’t last more than a few seconds. Only his confusion festered and boiled. He could ask them, but Hitoshi’s still feeling a bit insecure about his place in their lives.
What if they get offended?
He decides to ignore it as best as he can. There isn’t any harm in platonic kisses, right? Right. Despite the confusion, the soft kisses make him feel warm and tingly. It’s a nice feeling. Besides, there’s a test he needs to study for.
Of course, the moment he decides to stop stressing over their actions, the kisses turn decidedly less platonic. At least, Hitoshi thinks so.
He knows you don’t typically have makeout sessions with your friends. Then again, he didn’t have friends until 1-A, so maybe this is normal?

Re: My Friends Keep Kissing Me?
u/dailykisses:
Hi, it’s me again. I made a post a week or so ago about my problem, and uh? It’s not getting worse but it’s definitely getting weirder? They’re not under influence of a quirk (I checked w a doctor already), so I don’t know what’s going on :/
Background: a few days ago, my friends started kissing me, but like on the forehead, cheek, nose, etc.
My problem: I don’t know why? Everyone’s just — accepting it? It’s not making me uncomfortable or feel unsafe (I actually feel very warm n floaty when they do it,,)
Update: There have been a few of my classmates who have, like, actually kissed me? Like, on the mouth. Again, don’t know why, but I’m not uncomfortable and I know if I wanted them to stop, they would.
It’s a bit TMI, but the kissing turned into makeouts and they were nice. Like, one time I was doing to dishes with one (I was washing, they were drying), and they leaned over and kissed me and then went back to drying a plate. Then, I was watching a movie with a few, and one just alsksksk put me on their lap and kissed me?? The others were just like “aight pass the popcorn”??
Don’t get me started on when I try to study with them for exams. They just. They just keep kissing me whenever I try to help them with English :/ :/ what if they fail the exam?
tl;dr: my friends are being very affectionate and tactile w me, but they’re not under a quirk so like? Are they sick? Am I dying and no one wants to tell me? Advice would be appreciated,,

oh honey
you sweet bby.

Hitoshi discovers he really likes being kissed, and he really likes it when he isn’t in control of said kissing. He thinks his friends thought he’d want to be in control, but they figured it out quickly enough.
Anyway.
Not everyone kisses him on the mouth. Some of his friends stick to their forehead and cheek kisses while the others are — very enthusiastic in their efforts to kiss him until his lips are red.
No one is explaining why, and Hitoshi knows it’s not a quirk (he checked, again, when Bakugo had kissed him like that the first time). So, why? Maybe they wanted to practice kissing with someone they were familiar with?
Makes sense, but then why Hitoshi?
He didn’t know, and therein lies the root of the problem (sort of).
A soft noise ripples through the air. Todoroki chuckles, warm and low and sweet, and continues those soft, fluttery kisses on his jaw. Hands grip his waist, but he didn’t feel as though he couldn’t move.
Hitoshi isn’t sure how he ended up on Todoroki’s lap—but, well, here he is. They were going over their group project for one of their classes, but agreed on a break. Hitoshi was showing him a funny cat meme he’d found last night on Twitter when he noticed Todoroki staring at him with a soft expression.
“. . . What?” Hitoshi had asked. “Do I have something on my face?”
“Yes,” said Todoroki, a quiet, amused crinkle to his eyes. “I’ll remove it for you.”
Except Todoroki had leaned down and kissed him, leaving Hitoshi very skeptical that there was anything on his face. They’d broken apart for air, but Todoroki kissed him again, hands settling on Hitoshi’s waist. It made a soft noise curl in the back of Hitoshi’s throat.
He doesn’t know how long they’ve been kissing—but it’s definitely past the time they said they’d return to the group project.
Todoroki rubs soft circles into his hips, fingers trailing over his lower back, and leaves soft, biting kisses on the underside of his jaw. Hitoshi squirms at the sensations, his eyes fluttering.
“T-Todoroki—.”
“Shouto.” Todoroki kisses him again, soft and gentle, and it makes Hitoshi sigh quietly. “I want you to call me Shouto.”
Hitoshi can’t see his expression, but he knows it’s flushed pink. “O-Okay,” he says quietly, feeling shy and warm. “You — You can call me Hitoshi.”
Todoroki smiles warmly. It makes Hitoshi’s face darken. “Thank you, Hitoshi.”
They don’t finish the project.
Calling his friends by their first name is a thing, now. By the end of the week, he’s on first-name basis with his friends. It makes his stomach flutter whenever he hears them say his name, and when he goes to his advice forum about it, half of them either call him a “sweet baby” or tell him outright that it’s a crush.
That Hitoshi has a crush on his friends, and they have one on him.
But . . . would they? Hitoshi doesn’t think there’s anything special about him. He’s often too tall, too gangly, too creepy, too something.
He decides those anons are just — seeing things. There’s no way nineteen people have a crush on him . . . right?

Even if you don’t take the advice of everyone win this thread, you really should communicate with your friends. It’s clear that this is something you’re struggling with, and even though you say it’s okay, any relationship needs to have communication to be healthy.
If you’re uncomfy w face to face convos, then perhaps try writing it out and texting them?
The common room is commandeered by members of the Bakusquad whenever they have a Game Night, and Hitoshi always ends up on Bakugo’s or Kaminari’s lap. Of course, there are kisses. So, so many.
Sero likes to kiss the side of his face and tickle him until he laughs. Ashido likes forehead kisses the most, but she’s also enthusiastic with impromptu makeout sessions. Kirishima isn’t really a fan of kissing because of his teeth, but he’s all for cuddling. Bakugo and Kaminari? They love kissing Hitoshi.
Kaminari loves kissing him to distract him from the game they’re playing—especially when Hitoshi is in first place for the fourth row in Mario Kart. Hitoshi acts annoyed, but his flushed expression and the way his mouth eagerly parts for Kaminari’s tongue says otherwise.
Bakugo doesn’t kiss him to distract him from the finish line, but he does use it at random moments. Most of the time, it’s during their snack breaks. But this game night, even before Sero plugged his switch into the TV, Bakugo tugs Hitoshi onto his lap the moment he steps into the common room.
Ashido gives a light, playful whistle at the action, giggling at the way the tips of his ears burn.
“Let’s play Mario Party,” Kaminari suggests as though Bakugo isn’t kissing the curve of Hitoshi’s neck. “Ooh—we can do the boat thing.”
“No, that always makes my arms sore,” Ashido protests, yet accepts the pink controller Sero hands her. “Fine, but only if you let me be Bowser!”
“You’re always Bowser,” grumbles Kaminari.
“You’re always Pikachu!”
Hitoshi swallows a quiet sound when Bakugo worries a bit of skin with his teeth, shivering beneath the hands at his waist. “Ka-Katsuki . . .”
“Hmm?” Bakugo moves up his neck with a few more soft bites before capturing his lips in a slow kiss. Hitoshi doesn’t remember when he’s closed his eyes.
He distantly pays attention to the sounds of Mario Party’s menu screen. Kirishima and Sero briefly mock wrestle over who gets to play as Boo. Kaminari is Princess Peach, and Ashido, like she’s said, is Bowser. Bakugo continues kissing him.
Warmth licks the base of his spine. His toes curl as some of the kisses deepen; some of them are brief pecks, some of them have tongue. They all swirl together and leave Hitoshi breathless, his lips red and lovingly bitten.
Bakugo strokes his spine in soothing motions while they watch the others utterly fail at commandeering a boat, missing majority of the clocks and balloons for extra time and mini games.
When they get sucked into a whirlpool, for the fifth time, Bakugo snickers at their outrage and presses a warm kiss to Hitoshi’s forehead. It makes Hitoshi feel a floaty warmth.
It also makes a part of him want to cry.

So.
One of them gave me a hickey? And when the others saw (don’t have makeup to cover it up), some whistled n some were like “I wanted to do that first :/“. Please.
Also we’ve been on a few group outings but they don’t feel like group outings? I think they’re dates, but I’m not too sure and it’s a bit awkward to ask. We did a picnic for one, and then a movie, and then a dinner in a cat café, and I think we’re planing on doing laser tag? Or an arcade this weekend.
And they’re still very tactile; holding hands and the like. Some of them are excited to color coordinate with me too. And a few of them (the more well-off friends) are like . buying me things?? I asked them why, and they said they liked seeing me smile over the gifts,,
What is going on. I could ask my foster parents for advice, but I feel like I’ll be bothering them,,
u/ttoph:
HONEY.
WE BEEN TELLING YOU THIS WHOLE TIME.
THEY LIKE YOU. YOU LIKE THEM. THEY ARE DATING YOU/WANT TO.
It’s garnered attention from others—the kissing thing, that is. Hitoshi suffers through an uncomfortable conversation with his foster parents—who are also his teachers—about it. It’s nothing bad; they want to make sure he’s being safe, and making good decisions, and that he isn’t being pressured into anything.
He blanks out most of the conversation from sheer awkwardness of it taking place, but he’s sure he’s assured them he was being safe and comfortable as they’ve yet to corner him for another.
Hitoshi doesn’t think he’d be confronted over it by other students, though. But knowing how much life hates him, he should’ve expected it.
It’s lunch—it’s always lunch when people confront Hitoshi; why couldn’t they do it before or after class?—and he’s wedged between Midoriya and Asui. They’re both discussing some video game they play—Hitoshi’s more of an Animal Crossing fan over RPGs, but he enjoys listening to them talk—while they eat.
Of course, there are shared kisses between bites. Uraraka giggles at the way Hitoshi slowly resembles a tomato.
“Y’all are so cute~,” says a passing student, expression genuine and kind. “How long have you been together?”
Hitoshi almost chokes on his onigiri. Onigiri that Bakugo made for him.
Asui smiles at them, finger pressed against her cheek. “Thank you.”
“Two months,” says Midoriya, and, after another soft smile, gives Hitoshi a peck on the cheek. “It’s been really nice!”
What. Hitoshi blinks in confusion, but he’s well-aware his cheeks burning. Huh?
u/dailykisses:
okay so like I haven’t talked to them yet (I’m planing to but my anxiety is making me procrastinate), but I think I have a crush on my friends. Who keep kissing me.
There’s like . nineteen of them. Is this normal or??
u/aphroditee:
it is don’t worry honey
let me introduce you to the u/polyamory forum. you’ll be enlightened.
When in doubt, Hitoshi goes to someone who won’t keep him in the dark. The u/polyamory helped a bit, but Hitoshi wants the opinion of a trusted friend who isn’t apart of the problem. When he arrives in her dorm room—careful to step around the scattered items along the floor—he takes a hesitant seat on the edge of her bed, and starts explaining the problem while she works on some gadget.
He both expects, and doesn’t expect, Hatsume to laugh.
“This is the funniest shit I’ve ever heard of in my life,” she says in her blunt manner, and then bursts into cackling once more. One of her classmate a half-heartedly knock on the door, used to Hatsume’s ways. “Oh, man!”
Hitoshi rolls his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest in a huff. “I’m glad I’m so entertaining to you.”
“You are!”
His phone buzzes with a slew of messages from the few group chats he’s in along with some DMs. Yaoyorozu and Jirou want to know if he wants to go to a music and art museum tomorrow. Hagakure wants him to help her with the Literature homework, something that makes him raise an eyebrow.
Homework with Hagakure always ends with Hitoshi underneath her as she kissed him. Kissing with someone invisible is — a bit trippy, he won’t lie, but it could definitely be worse.
“Look.” Hitoshi locks his phone and chews on his bottom lip. “Just — you wont lie to me or sugarcoat anything.”
“I won’t,” Hatsume agrees and sets down her wrench. “But you still haven’t said why you’re here? Did you just, what, want to rant?”
Hitoshi clears his throat. Now that it’s happening, the conversation topic is a bit embarrassing. “I — I like them. All of them. Do you think I should, I dunno, ask if they want to date me . . .?” He trails off at Hatsume’s expression.
“Wait,” she says, and tilts her head. “You mean, you’re not dating?”
“N-No . . .?” Hitoshi replies. “I mean, I don’t think we are.” He tells her what happened at lunch a few days ago, and sprinkles in what some do the advice forum people have told him. “Why . . .,” he blinks at her stare. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“Hitoshi,” Hatsume says slowly, “you are dating them? You’ve been dating for, like, three months now! Literally the entire school knows—the teachers know! Half the freshman class had their hearts broken!”
Hitoshi stares. Hatsume stares.
“Think about it,” Hatsume says through the silence. “They kiss you, cuddle with you, things like that. Sure, you can argue that they’re just tactile—but friends don’t kiss their friends like that unless there’s some romantic feelings in there . . . or sexual,”—at that, Hitoshi sputters, but Hatsume moves on— “and they don’t do dates and date nights, either. Face the facts, Hitoshi—you’re in a polyamorous relationship with nineteen people.”
The world feels like it’s ending, but like it’s also healing at the same time. “I’m dating nineteen people.”
Hatsume screws on another piece of — something. He doesn’t try to make sense of what she invents. “I can’t believe I’m giving you advice on romance.”
“You have a girlfriend,” Hitoshi hears himself say, and Hatsume snorts, waving her wrench at him.
“I still don’t know how that happened!”
After she makes him try out a support item, Hitoshi heads back to the dorms in a storm of pensive thoughts. A few of his friends (datemates?) are in the common room when he enters, and Hitoshi makes a split decision.
He opens up the class group chat as he settles in between Uraraka and Kaminari, and types out a brief hey can everyone come to the common room real quick i wanna talk about something. Phones around him ping with the message.
Uraraka pokes his cheek with a frown. “Everything okay, Hitoshi?”
“Yeah,” says Hitoshi. “I just — have a question to ask everyone.”
“Ooh, gotcha!”
Anxiety bundles in his stomach as the common room fills up. When all nineteen are in the living room, staring at Hitoshi expectantly, he takes a breath. “I’m — I’m just a little confused, but, um, it’s okay if you laugh . . . but are we, uh, dating?”
Much like Hatsume did, they stare at him in varying degrees of confusion.
“Hitoshi,” Iida breaks the silence with a cleared throat. “It seems there’s a misunderstanding.” Hitoshi’s stomach drops; he knew it. “We’ve been dating you for around three months, now.” What. “Were you . . . under the impression that we weren’t?”
Hitoshi distantly feels himself nod.
Midoriya puts his face in his hands, cheeks apple red. “Oh, god, we’ve been kissing you and being so affectionate, and you were probably so confused.”
Bakugo tsks, and squints at him. “Why the fuck didn’t you say anything?”
It takes Hitoshi a moment. “It was . . . nice,” he says quietly, but he’s aware they all hear him. “And . . . And at first, I thought you just wanted kissing practice—and then, I dunno, I thought it was something friends did? But the internet said otherwise . . . I guess I just . . . didn’t want you to stop . . .?”
Quiet settles over the common room. It makes Hitoshi’s skin bristle as he stares down at his lap. He didn’t know what would happen now—would they still kiss him? Did they want to, now that they knew he was an oblivious fool—?
Kaminari kisses his cheek, softly chuckling at the quiet noise he makes in response, and says, “Well—to clear up any misunderstandings, Hitoshi . . . we all like kissing you, and we want to date you, okay?” Gentle fingers guide his chin until he’s staring into Kaminari’s eyes. “Do you want to date us? I know it’s a bit daunting, but—.”
“Yes,” Hitoshi interrupts, and then feels himself blush. “I—yes. I do want to date you . . . all of you.”
Kaminari beams, and cheers and relived sighs erupt from the common room, from his datemates, and then kisses him quietly. It turns into some sort of kissing train, in the end. Hitoshi wonders how his life ended up like this.
