Trish had told Bucciarati that she’d wanted to go riding, and like usual he’d asked for volunteers to join her, and before Mista had been able to even open his big mouth Trish had hoisted herself up to sit on the kitchen counter with her knees crossed (and so visible) and said, “It’s fine, I’ll take Narancia,” like she was talking about an especially faithful horse. Fugo and Abbacchio had both given Narancia knowing looks at the same time. Narancia had played it very cool by making a choking noise into his orange juice.
