Chapter Text
“Urgh....”
The sound of a slow, drawn out groan was the first thing Louis heard. Considering how bad his current state of being was, it took him a few seconds to realise the groan was from him.
He was in pain. Not the sort of physical pain he knew well, from some injury on his body screaming out for attention. This was a grand old mixture of muscle aches, nausea, stomach cramps and the mother of all headaches welcoming him as he awoke.
He had not suffered from this problem many times, but even he knew the symptoms of a 1 st class hangover.
'I want to die' Was what Louis had wanted to say out loud but all that came out was another long “Urghhhh”
'What did I do last night?' Louis thought, desperately trying to string together the events of previous evening but coming up with a solid blank. Not even mental bits and pieces to guess at even the start of events.
Despite the urge to just lay there and stop existing constantly pushing on his mind, Louis made a effort of will and raised himself from the bed and slowly opened his eyes.
The first thing he noticed was the absolute darkness around him. There was no light source in the room, even the blinking red lights of his alarm clock. He did however, without any aid of sight, notice he was not even wearing his bed wear and instead had slept in only his underwear.
His eyesight not adapting to the darkness, the next thought he made was 'Why does one side of my head hurt so badly', before raising one of his hands to his head and realising with another groan the answer.
He was missing an antler. He could feel bandages wrapped loosely around one half of his skull covering where one of his antlers should be. Placing his fingers underneath the wrappings and holding them in front of his face, he could smell the dried blood.
“Great” Louis mumbled, his voice coming out as a croak.
In an attempt to get some movement going, Louis made an effort to turn on his bedside light. Failing to find it, he did however stumble upon his phone, that had been placed next to his pillow. He had no real wish to get up but out of curiosity, turned on the phones light.
There was a noticeable amount of blood visible under the light, appearing as a set of stains on the pillow.
“Does blood wash out..? Might need a new one” Louis said, his voice slowly returning.
As he turned, the light of the phone illuminating the room the area around him, he made a new discovery.
“... This isn't my bed.... this isn't my room!”
His grogginess burning away quickly now, Louis looked around desperately for a light switch and finding on near him and flipping it, looked around again to take in his environment.
He was in a small room. A all purpose flat room, with inbuilt cooking area. The place looked neat but incredibly cheap, especially by his standards. He looked down in fact and realised he was not even sleeping in a bed, but a futon laid right in the centre of the room.
Anxiety started to grip him as he looked around for any item to gather where he was. Still not fully trusting he ability to stand, Louis instead looked down at his phone and quickly activated his GPS to see where he was. He could be in a dorm room near the university campus. He could simply have been dragged out on some bender by some other students and things had gotten too wild.
But no. He was nowhere near the campus, or any place belonging to any of the few other students he new, or anywhere linked to his father or the Shishigami. Instead he was...
“... what the hell is 'The Hidden Condo'” Louis spat out, mind going in circles as he tried to figure out how he had ended up hear.
And as if to answer, Louis attention shot from his phone to the door as he heard someone rattle a pair of keys.
Already preparing both questions and excuses for his presence there, Louis' mouth was open and stayed open as the giant form of Legosi, his former under-classman opened the door and stared over to him, an obvious look of relief and concern plastered over his shaggy grey face.
“Louis-San, you're awake”
'...what is going on?'
