Work Text:

Two months

Two months it had been

Stuck in the dark apartment in the middle of the once buzzing streets of Seoul. The days were almost always overcast, grey skies shaded sometimes with dark clouds.

Scenes that made Yoongi sit by the glass doors leading to the balcony, painting at his canvas. That was a glimmer of hope, to see the silver haired paint so often.

At least they had each other, Hoseok would remind himself. Yoongi reminded him as well, as they lay on their bed, blinds half closed over the clear windows.

But, two months.

Two months without their friends. Oh their idiot friends. Hoseok has never missed Jin’s windscreen wiper laugh so much. He hadn’t missed Joon’s inability to cook.

He had never missed Jungkook’s screams over a lost game of call of duty, or Tae and Jimin prone to arguing every “family” meal.

The sounds of laughter that filled their home was becoming memories. When he told Yoongi, he would frown at him slightly.

“ aish Seokie, it’ll all be over soon, now get up my arm is getting numb “

Right now it was okay though. The apartment was filled with Yoongi singing while cleaning his brushes, or Hoseok dancing in his socks, often slipping on the clean floorboards and hurting himself.

When he first met Yoongi, all those years before, he knew that was all he needed. His grumpy best friend who was addicted to coffee. His grumpy best friend who he fell for on the spot.

Even though the skies were often overcast, Hoseok could find the sun in unlikely places. He just needed to squeeze Yoongi’s hand once in a while, and remember,

it’ll all be over soon, and once it is, he’ll never take life for granted again.
