Chapter Text
Nine years ago
A young girl stumbles through an alleyway in the dead of the night. Run, her instincts tell her. Run before they catch you. She follows her instincts and searches for somewhere to hide. Suddenly, a scream echoes from deeper in the alleyway. She sees a young woman who seems to be in the middle of being mugged by a man who seems to have a mutation quirk.
Animal-related, the girl thinks, noting the claws on the man's hands and sharp canines. She stands there for a moment, weighing her options before letting out a resigned sigh. Grabbing the dagger she had found while escapingfromtheprison running away, she throws it at the man's head. It doesn’t kill him of course, she knows better than that. The dagger had merely grazed the man's temple, effectively knocking him out. She ignores the blubbering woman and bends down to retrieve her dagger.
The girl blinks as the crying woman grabs her hands and thanks her furiously. The girl stands for a moment before removing herself from the woman's grasp. She realizes she most likely looks like a vigilante, considering her black hoodie and mask. She leaves, but not before making sure the woman calls the police.
As she scales up an abandoned building she senses a presence nearby, without ill will, but that may or may not change. The moment she is safely on the rooftop, she springs forward and twists around mid-air drawing her dagger and pointing it at the stranger's neck. She stares at the stranger's face, analyzing him.
The stranger had light blue hair with golden eyes. He wore a waist long cloak and had twin scarves that seemed to be floating despite the lack of wind. He also seemed to be carrying a strange looking mask. He looked rather young, but held himself in a manner that spoke of authority and power. He looked surprised at first, but it soon changed into a smile. She did not move, narrowing her eyes at him. The girl knew that she would not win in a fight against him and instead started planning ways to escape, eyes darting around.
"Do not be afraid child. I do not wish to hurt you. Do you need help?" The man inquired softly. "I mean you no ill will. I can provide for you as well as train you with your....quirk." The young girl tensed at the man's pause and felt her breath quicken. She stared suspiciously at the man, wondering if she was being used.
After a moment of debate, she hesitantly nodded before removing the dagger from the man's throat. They stared at each other for a few moments before the man offered his hand to her. She reached out and took it, free hand still gripping her dagger tightly. They started to walk towards the edge of the rooftop.
"Do you have a name child? You can call me Rin, for now." The man asked. The child paused before opening her mouth and speaking. Unfortunately, a huge gust of wind carried what she said away, heard only by the man. The man smiled at her, before summoning a portal and stepping through it.
In a small apartment in Musutafu
A young boy named Midoriya Izuku is sitting in front of a computer with tears streaming down is cheeks. His mother stands behind him, on the verge of tears.
"Hey mommy, can I be a hero too?" The boy asks, causing his mother to breakdown and hug him tightly, repeating "I'm sorry, I'm sorry". The small boy, who was already on the edge, felt something snap in his head. Midoriya Izuku was no longer a shy but cheerful boy. He was now something far more dangerous. The world would soon learn to fear and respect him. Because no matter what, Midoriya was going to be a hero.
