BACKSTORY: Midoriya Izuku grew up loving music. This was all because of his mom, Inko, who always sang to him as a baby and also taught him how to play the piano. He loved everything about music so much, that he began writing his own music at 8-years-old. It was also around that time, that he heard about a new up and coming rapper: All Might. After hearing his music for the first time, he began learning how to produce his own music. Going to classes with one of his mum’s old friends and learning new things from his other piano teacher who was also a DJ. After a while he asked his music teacher to teach him how to play the guitar.
It was in his first day of primary school he became friends with a boy and a girl: Shoto Todoroki and Ren Bakugou. He already knew Ren because her mum was his mum’s best friend from high school, but they didn’t talk as much because she kinda scared him. However, from the moment he met Shoto, he felt a connection to him. Stronger than the one he felt with Ren that is. He brushed it off, believing it was just admiration and the fact that he liked All Might just as much as he and Ren did. The three of them were the best of friends and were as thick as thieves. You would always see them together either being silly or making music in the music room or performing in the playground. However, everything changed in the summer before they started year 5.
The young trio were in Izuku’s studio when Ren told them that he would rather them call him Katsuki and that his pronouns were he/him and that he liked boys the way he was “supposed” to like girls. Another thing that happened was Shoto telling them he didn’t want to date the girls his father set him up with. He also wanted to date boys. After finding these things out, Izuku began to realise some things about himself for example why he always stared at Shoto or the reason why he blushed around him or other boys that smiled at him. Izuku figured he should talk to his mum about what he was feeling, and she helped him through it, making sure to let him know that it was okay for him to feel the way he did.
After he figured out who he was, he told his friends that he also wanted to date boys. Now, they are closer than ever, and make even more music together starting a band and a YouTube channel. Halfway through year 5, their class got two new boys: Kirishima Eijiro and Kaminari Denki who were cousins. That was also around the time Shoto confessed his feelings towards him. Now there are two new editions to his friend group and band.
