Jotaro didn’t really know why he agreed to come here.
The music was too loud. Lights were flashing in vibrant colors everywhere, making it difficult to see more than his drink. People were dancing weirdly and sticking to each other. He wasn’t dressed like usual and wasn’t used to wearing these types of clothes, Jotaro wasn’t feeling like himself. The alcohol wasn’t that bad though... but why did he make an effort if it was only to become a bar pillar?
Narrowing his eyes to focus on the dance floor, taking another sip of his strong cocktail, he saw them and remembered. A huge trunk of silver hair was moving around without any pattern or logic, trying to respond to the rhythm. His weird black top was replaced with a white long sleeved shirt, trying to somehow contain the huge chest underneath. Beside him was a bouncing red noodle, with more grace yet not better moves. Eyes closed, singing above the song. His green gakuran was replaced by a burgundy deep V neck and some black slacks. Maybe too deep for him if Jotaro believed the heat rising in his chest each time he looked at it. Definitely living his best life.
After coming back from their dangerous trip a few days ago, the group wanted to celebrate their success with more than just having dinner together. They had been close to death, and ideas of what they never did were discussed while eating. Going to an amusement park, doing a movie night, going to some countries to visit peacefully, having a vacation by the beach … and going to a club to dance. If not everybody, meaning almost no one, was motivated by this last idea, Polnareff insisted the younger had to go. To not miss it because it was a good experience, they would have fun, they could drink and have fun.
Jotaro hoped he would be saved by Kakyoin, expecting him to tell the french man to fuck off after they exchanged a quick look. They had grown close during the trip, beginning to understand each other just by looking. But he grinned slightly at him, causing the black haired male to flinch, and said to Polnareff it could be actually a good idea for the 3 of them to go together. Avdol and Joseph agreed, followed by Holly.
Taken aback, the other teen said nothing, not wanting to kill the good mood, and just slightly grunted.
What was the meaning behind that grin?
The event was set for 4 days later, letting everyone get what they needed to be prepared. And Jotaro was actually thankful for that. Even if he didn’t care about what others said or thought of him, he wanted to make an effort. Kakyoin told him he would use the chance to wear his preferred outfit, also hoping to see what Jotaro planned to wear and that he hoped Jotaro would like what the redhead would wear.
But Jotaro hadn’t really thought about this before. He accessorized his gakuran and hat so they were more suited for his tastes, but he definitely couldn’t wear this outfit to the club. He wouldn’t hear the end of it from the others. His wardrobe was practically made of tank tops and pricey pants, mostly in black, blue or purple.
While staring at his clothes like the solution would magically appear, Holly knocked on the door and stepped in.
“What do you want?” Even though Jotaro had learned to not call his mother a bitch anymore, he was still a bit rough with her by habit, even if he tried to put some effort in it.
“I was going to tell you I wanted to go to the city to do some shopping, and I was wondering if you would be interested, sweetie. I don’t remember any clothes in your closet suitable for your little dance event, or to show off for Noriaki.” She smiled widely at him, waiting for his answer.
Was this woman a witch?
His ears reddened a bit at the statement and he grumbled. He knew she was right but his pride didn’t want to tell her that. Pulling his cap over his eyes, he grunted something resembling a yes. It was hopefully enough for Holly, leaving the doorway saying she just had to get her bag before they could go. Smiling a bit, Jotaro left his room and put on some shoes and his coat.
They walked for a while in the streets, searching for clothes that could fit this huge stature as there was no time to order a personalized fit for something he perhaps would never wear again. He would have given up after 2 hours if it wasn’t for his mother who seemed to have an endless source of energy, and for her strategy to remind him Kakyoin was excited to see him in different clothes.
Finally, their quest ended at the end of the afternoon. Jotaro didn’t think finding something for him would be such a wild ride: They chose an emerald green high collared shirt with white pants, dark blue brogues and matching belts. And even though these clothes weren’t advertised as tight fitting, his muscles were straining against the fabric. Not that he cared that much.
The 3 days separating Jotaro from the event went oddly, as he was feeling... nervous.
Since they missed more than 50 days of school, including the days they needed to rest after their trip, the school had decided the two highschoolers would have to do everything again and therefore had to wait for the next start of their school year. He would alternate between laying in his bed reading some marine life related magazines, watching thrillers on TV with his mother and Joseph, and sometimes wondering if he should do some hair styling or he should do some preparation.
For what though? What did he want from this club event?
He doubted he could have fun. Did he want to seduce some random girl?
No.
Did he want to seduce Noriaki ?
...Maybe.
He shook his head at the thought. He didn’t really know what was going on with him these days.
Everything led him to the present, drinking his fifth weirdly sweet cocktail and watching his two friends dance for more than an hour. He was surprised to see Polnareff leaving the redhead alone on the dance floor, looking directly at him with a wide smile.
“Aren’t you tired of looking at him without joining? You were staring for a solid 15 minutes, dude.”
Shit, he didn’t think he was looking for this long. He wished he brought his hat with him, rather than styling his hair, as his black curls were useless at hiding his emotions. Taking another sip of his drink, he could hear the Frenchman chuckle beside him.
“Why don’t you go with him ? It will be better than watching!”
“I don’t want to d-”
“Or are you a coward? “
He couldn’t even finish his sentence that Polnareff was looking at him with a defying look.
“Is our poor Jotaro afraid of looking ridiculous? Kakyoin has more balls than you, you know.”
Jotaro didn't want to answer. He’s not one to respond to this type of childish provocation. But when he turns his head to look at the redhead, it seems like he’s not dancing alone anymore. A man is dangerously close and his shit-eating grin is bad news.
He tries to stay in place, grasping his drink with more force. This doesn’t have anything to do with him, Kakyoin can dance with anyone he wants to. Then, he heard Polnareff whistle besides him.
“I would even say he will have two more balls very soo-”
He couldn’t stand it anymore. Finishing his drink in a last angry sip, the glass was set back onto the bar with a loud noise. Leaving his silver-haired friend behind, Jotaro makes his way through the crowd of people. When he arrives beside Noriaki’s dance partner, he shoots him his best death glare. As expected, the other man is too afraid for his life to say anything and goes to dance at a safer distance.
But then Jotaro feels another glare at his side. Turning back to Kakyoin, he can see the smaller man has stopped dancing, arms crossed. Weirdly for Jotaro, he doesn’t really look like he wants to scowl at him.
“Who will dance with me now? Will you take responsibility? It would be a shame you don’t put your new lovely clothes to use.” His voice was falsely hurt and his eyes were piercing through Jotaro’s, nearly pleading him.
“I...I don’t know how to,” he said quietly so that only Kakyoin could hear. Kakyoin smiled lightly at him.
“Do you want me to show you?” He was genuinely gentle.
“Don't you want to puke with all the weird moves you make, the loud music and all your drinks?” Jotaro sounded mocking but he wanted to be caring. The alcohol wasn’t helping him get his tone right.
“I had less than you, you know. If I had to bet, I think you will be the one lost in a few minutes.” His smile was growing wider with every sentence. He took the chance to take Jotaro’s hand, pulling him to his eye level. He then spoke right in the shell of his ear. Jotaro couldn’t help but stare straight into his V-neck, giving him a view of his chest.
“Watch me and try to copy, listen to the music, it will be easy! You don’t have to be a pro... Just lose yourself for a bit.”
He let his hand go and the black haired male was disappointed. But Kakyoin slowly went back to dancing, trying to show him how he could respond to the rhythm.
“Try to move the part that is the easiest for you. Maybe the legs?!” The redhead tried to speak above the music. His legs were moving in weird patterns, but it was elegant nonetheless. Was he supposed to mimic him? He was built like a brick shithouse, and if he had to describe his body, elegant wasn’t really the word that would come to his mind. But the alcohol wanted him to try anyway apparently, as his legs began to move without him really noticing. Moves were made, shyly, doing his best despite his fear of appearing ridiculous in front of Noriaki.
“That’s it, you’re doing great! Try to add your hands and arms now, Jotaro!” Kakyoin was moving faster and threw a hand at Jotaro, gesturing for him to take it. He took it before he even realised it, and they were dancing together. The smaller male was smiling really wide now, and the tall Japanese boy never thought he would see such a gorgeous smile in his life.
He took a few moments to notice they were unbelievably close now, Kakyoin having his arms attached behind his neck and his hips rocking not far from his pelvis.
“You can put your arms around my waist if you want.” This sentence seemed so unreal that Jotaro’s arms moved as slowly as possible, taking time to realise he indeed said that. Panicked, he shot a glance at Polnareff, theoretically still at the bar where he left him.
The Frenchman had a drink beside him and gave a thumbs-up to the two males, obviously rooting for them. Weirdly enough, Jotaro felt assured by the gesture and got closer to Noriaki, thankful that the alcohol was giving him enough courage to do so, and hoping the other male wouldn’t be upset. But the look he received told him otherwise. Eyes half lidded, smiling lovingly. Body slowly waving to the music in time with him, not pushing further.
“How are you feeling now, Jotaro? Do you still not like dancing?” the redhead teased.
“I could grow used to it. But I feel like the partner has a lot to do with it.” Did he say that? Was he trying to be seductive now? Jotaro didn’t have control over his thoughts anymore.
His eyes fell on the other's lips. Did he put on chapstick, or or did Jotaro just never realize how glossy and pink they looked? He saw them moving but didn’t pay any attention to what he was saying. He felt a hand in his hair, and made an effort to move back to the other’s eye level.
“Could you repeat that? I didn't quite catch it.” Glazed lavender eyes were staring at him. He could feel a thumb lightly touching his right cheekbone.
“...I feel like I don’t need to,” was the answer he received just before he was lowered to Noriaki’s level and kissed.
He didn’t understand it at first, doing nothing to go further or to move away. It was foreign to him, and it didn't last very long before the redhead broke the kiss.
Too short, he decided a moment later. Jotaro wanted more.
