you knew that himejima had a sad life. you knew and sadly there was nothing you could do about it. that had always pained you to think about, especially when nightmares, or memories of the past, woke him up through the night. sadly, it happened more often that you’d like, but there wasn’t much that could be done about it.
he had told you about his past a while into your relationship, tears flowing out of both of you. you sat with him and comforted him for as long as he needed, and let him know that if he ever needed comforting, for this or something else, that he was always able to come to you. now, when he was woken up in the middle of the night from his dreams, it often woke you up as well due to his sudden movement of sitting upright.
you usually tried to coax him back into peaceful slumber with soothing and loving words, but on this night for whatever reason, it just wasn’t working. it must have hit him harder than usual. still sitting up, he turned to you and gently placed his hand on your cheek.
“is there anyway that you could sing me to sleep, my love?”
“of course.”
maybe you were suddenly the best singer in the world, or it’s just the fact that it was his loved one’s voice, but he quickly calmed down enough to return to a place more peaceful than being awake. he then slept through the rest of the night without an issue, but from then on, if he ever was woken up, you sung him to sleep. he never thought he could love you more, but you constantly proved him wrong.
