There was a moment of surprise on Mo Ran’s face, before it morphed into a blinding smile, and Chu Wanning had to suck in a breath when Mo Ran abruptly knelt down, much too close to him. Mo Ran grabbed at Chu Wanning’s hand, and instantly Chu Wanning felt electricity zap its way up his spine, felt the fire in him burn even brighter. Chu Wanning wrenched his hand out of Mo Ran’s grip, as if scalded, but Mo Ran’s still got a dopey smile on his face, not unlike a sweet canine wanting to bask in its master’s affection. This close, Chu Wanning could smell the musk of Mo Ran’s skin, and it made him dizzy, made him want to bury his face into Mo Ran’s chest and just breathe.

~This fic is beautifully written, but I think I personally wasn’t a fan of the plot. Still good and smut was fine. Author is great at explaining a character’s thoughts and motivations. -
