Work Text:

Nejire hauled Tamaki over to you by his shoulder. He whimpered and pushed against her binding hands “Come on kitten, ask her.” Nejire urged. He looked like he was about to burst into tears. “N-no he doesn’t have to say any-” Tamaki cut you off “Will you go on a date with me?” He blurted.
Nejire cheered before you had the chance to answer. “Yeah sure.” you half-whispered, expecting someone to yell “sike”.
When Tamaki gave you his number your hands shook so badly that he eventually took your phone and entered it in himself. Nejire offered to help you prepare for your outing with Tamaki.
You accepted quickly, not knowing a thing about make-up sucked when times like these came up.
Nejire hyped you up for the big day, she took you dress shopping and helped decide on hairstyles.
Apparently Mirio was doing the same with Tamaki, teaching him how to properly tie a tie and pick out the perfect place for the date.
You sat on the edge of Nejire’s bed the morning of the date, her fingers combed through your hair as she separated it out into even parts.
“So when is he picking you up?” She hummed into your ear. You wrung out your hand anxiously. “H-he said four.” you stuttered.
Nejire sighed. “You gotta calm down, he is just as nervous as you.” She started kneading your shoulders. “Where are you guys going,” she asked quietly. You shrugged and gripped your legs. “He wouldn’t tell me.”
Nejire groaned “I annoyed Mirio for like two days and he wouldn't say a word!” She tugged on your hair gently. “I thought he would at least tell you,” she complained.
She continued braiding your hair, smoothing out the loose strands, and tucking them behind your ears.
“Okay, get up” she commanded, walking to your closet and picking up the dress you picked out.
You pulled it over your head, careful not to mess up your hair. Nejire tightened your belt to accentuate your small waist.
She pulled you by the hand into your bathroom and started removing makeup from her bag, she seemed more excited than you where if that was even possible.
The doorbell rang and Nejire squealed, “Oh, he is going to love it!” She pinched your cheek before sprinting downstairs to open the door.
Tamaki was hiding behind Mirio. He tugged Tamaki inside and forced him to sit down. “She’s almost ready!” Nejire was bouncing with joy.
Nejire came back upstairs and started fixing your make up, taking extra time to match your lipstick to the dress you were wearing.
“Ok! Are you excited? Are you nervous? Where do you think you’re going?” She fired question after question while dragging you downstairs.
Tamaki buried his face into his hands. Mirio forced him took look at you. “Come on dude.” He whined, pulling at his hands. Tamaki finally met your eyes, he stumbled over his words. “Y-you look beautiful.” The tips of his ears turned red. “You don’t look too bad yourself.” You responded. Mirio and Nejire high fived and started pushing you out the door. “Have fun! Don’t get too crazy!” Mirio called after us. Tamaki opened my door and walked around to the driver’s seat. “So...where are we going.” You asked, nervously fidgeting with your purse.
Tamaki smiled for the first time that afternoon. “There is a butterfly house near the zoo, I thought you would like it there.” You beamed and started jumping up in your seat. “Really? I have always wanted to go!” Tamaki didn’t seem surprised by your excitement.
“That’s what Mirio said.” He whispered.
