LanLing Jin is a large sect, which famous for wealth. Since the disciples and the servants were provided with handsome allowance and good quality clothes, his people have tradition to dress nicely with expensive items as the sign of honor and power. For Jin Zixuan, it is a very normal thing for the normal people to do. What’s wrong with the good look and high quality stuff? But Jiang Wanyin and Wei Wuxian, his somewhat brother-in-law, always laugh at him and called him a peacock. No, he is not like the peacock, and he didn’t like that useless bird (as some of his relatives might). He like dogs, especially spiritual dogs. He has three of them in his private area at home, so they can’t disturb the guests or the business in Koi Tower. This knowledge is limit to few persons in his household. He just introduced them to his wife after she got pregnant since he want one of them to always follow her in the shadow. They are well-trained and have the great sense to the danger. He like to take them to the night hunt too. They will hide in his shadow, follow his order and bark when the danger is near. He glad that his wife treat his dog well and after that his relationship with Jiang Wanyin, who often visited after heard the news, were rapidly improved because their shared interest.
Not that anyone will have chance to see his dogs, he even forgot about their presents sometimes since they are in hiding. When he rushed out of Koi Tower to follows Jin Zixun, he didn’t call out his dogs and they might follows him or might not. When he at Qiongqi Path, the situation didn’t look good at all.
“What are you doing to my guest, Jin Zixun!!” He yelled at his cousin. How can he explain to his wife if something bad happen to her beloved brother? The demonic cultivator already lay low for year and now the tension between sects will rise again on his son’s celebration? Better not. He walked to stand between them to stop them.
“Is this a trap!? Are you invite me to kill me!?” Wei Wuxian feel betray and shouted angrily with the demonic flute in his hand
When the killing intended from Ghost general turn to him, his White, his biggest spiritual dog, jump up from the shadow and send threaten bark to the dangerous corpse but the scream from other man stop everything.
The scream full of fear that can even wake up the dead.
Everyone’s eyes turned to the evil man who shaking and scream like he gone mad, like he see the grim reaper, or something fearsome in front of him. Many people confused and tried to looking for what made the demonic cultivator so scared? But there was nothing except from guarding dog. Did he see some illusion? Even the fierce corpse looked confused and go back to his master.
“Young master Wei, what..”
“Wen Ning! Take me away from here, I’m scared! I’m scared!”
Before anyone can take the action, the ghost general already pick up his master and run.
Everyone from Jin sect go back to LanLing with confusion and began to talk that Yiling Laozu run with his tail between his legs because gods protect the Jins. When Jin Zixuan tell his wife what happen, she laugh softly and said.
“Yeah, I can imagine that. White is bigger than normal dog so A-Xian must be very scared”
“He afraid of big dogs?”
Who would think Yiling Laozu will be Cynophobia?
If White didn't jump out at that time.. What will happen?
“Not just big dogs. He scare of every dogs since he got bitten in the young age. Poor A-Xian, I should ask A-Cheng to send him some comfort gift. Can you call A-Cheng for me?”
When Jiang Wanying left to buried mound, he left with a large smile since he got to laugh at the face of fearsome Yiling Laozu. He plan to retold this story to Jiang disciple again and again (he won’t tell other sect, it’s a sect secret). No one saw Yiling Laozu left the buried mound for a year due to the embarrassment, but there are more visitors come to Yiling after that. Sometime just the curious cultivators from small sect tried to catch some new rumor. Sometime the polite man from Gusu come to visit a child and walk around the market with their little family(?). Sometime the noisy guy from Jiang come to drink in the local restaurant with the friendly man and bossy female doctor. Sometime the villager saw the young family of Jins walk around with another family. There are no tragedy and the trade in small village went very well.
