Summary
After Horace's untimely death; Jasper Badun doesn't know what to do with himself. Staying with his old boss-now-also-murderer is completely off the table and living on the streets while trying to hide from her clutches is risky at best.
Now wouldn't it be awfully convenient if there was one little flat that the evil woman has been forced to stay away from after a certain dog-napping incident. A flat belonging to a domestically mundane Husband, Wife and their 101 dalmatians. Now unfortunately, a crook such as himself would never been welcomed by such a pair. (Especially with what he almost did to their puppies.) But he was a thief after all... Sneaking in for a quick vacation hideout in their attic and then leaving without them ever knowing.

A tense story about loss and return, intermingled with the complexity of blood, love, and choice.
If you enjoy stories that look at alternative paths for young Tom Riddle, you may enjoy this. There is nothing overtly graphic, but I don't shy away from the realities of war and trauma.

“His shoulder pulsed and oozed, lines of purple and yellow reaching across his arms like spiderwebs. He has started to get more feverish, illness making his mind delirious. Thoughts shoot off like buckshots, cycling through a million contradictory feelings. He's never wanted to live so badly. He's never wanted to die so badly. The delirium is a crutch of sorts though, acting as a catalyst for his derealization. Delusional and numb, he stares forward blankly. The sickness in his mind is crafting daydreams of fishing trips and long adventures on horseback. Visions of a setting sun over the pond at Clemens Point, his family laughing and drunkenly singing songs by a campfire.”

Crowley has been handling and showing dogs for the better part of his adult life. From hounds to terriers, Crowley has been one to seek change. He loves the dogs. Dogs are amazing, how could he not? And about thirteen years ago, he met Aziraphale, his best friend, his partner-in-crime, and (secret, but probably-not-that-secret) love of his life. They have an understanding, they go to shows together, they share space, they help each other out when the other needs it. However, as Crowley's love of conformation showing is waning, (and the pain of loving someone you are convinced will never love you back is overwhelming,) he thinks maybe it's time for a change.
But Aziraphale's been acting weird all weekend. Now, they're stuck sharing a bed. When the door does open, he’s greeted by False.
“Hey Ren.” She says.
Ren tilts his head to the side a bit, “Are you okay?” He asks, “You sound off dude.”
The avian sighs, “I started my period yesterday and my cramps have been pretty bad all morning.” she says, “I took some pain killers, but they have not kicked in yet.”
“Oh…” Ren says, “Is there anything I can do?”
“A distraction might be nice.” She says, smiling, “Want to come in?”
