Eloise leans forward, "Spending so much energy and time on painting and embroidering and other pretty chores just for the attention of a man. That they may deign to take up the burden that is marriage and children. What is a dowry if not a bribe from a father to a husband to rid himself of an unwanted daughter?"
As Eloise continued, her voice did not rise in volume, but it did in temperature. The lady's eyebrow rose higher and higher. She did not interrupt Eloise, but at the end of the eloquent speech, her eyes gained an understanding with a pitying expression. "Now I understand why you like this work," she tapped her hand on the stacked books, "You just like this author, hate women. You envision yourself as superior."
Eloise choked in shock from the conclusion reached.OR

"What's up? Whatcha got there?" Her fingers dug into the paper. The crinkle loud in his human ears that were starting to pound loud and louder.
"Well I-I just, uhm." Really — it was like a scene straight out of Renzou's romance manga's. The sun shining brightly, an oblivious but sweet boy. A nervous but pretty girl, they just needed sakura petals fluttering down like gentle rain to make it perfect.
Ryuuji could've puked all his food up in disgust, but then that would mean he sinfully wasted the beautiful breakfast Rin had made for him.

Lumiose City is the largest city of the Kalos region, the central hub of which all roads of the region converge and meet. Of course with such a large area comes many complications of its own, and so, two heroes stepped up to protect all those in need. Their names? The Masked Heroes (name pending), and armed with the power of Ice, Psychic and their innate knowledge of Pokemon and battling, they're an unstoppable force against the roots of evil and the many forms it can take - from a war between Fairy and Dragon Types to Rotom burning your toast, they will confront them all for the sake of Kalos and its natural state of order.
Except there's someone else we're forgetting. The man that stepped up for the heroes themselves. This man is everything: a mechanic, a father, a dad-figure to people who really shouldn't have one, a surviver of the local Pokemon Lab, and now... a hero himself.
Who is he? Well, it's in the title. And with him, the mysteries and misadventures within Lumiose City is about to be explored in ways that only a local can experience, so prepare yourselves for a different sort of trouble (and make it double, naturally)!

I wanted to originally write one of those plotless chatfics, but I read some amazing ones on here that did have plots, I sent them to my friends (the other authors) and I really wanted to write this!! The plot starts developing around chapter 3 so if you dgaf about fluff I would skip to there lol.
I can maybe introduce myself as the main author, Candi, the second author is Eddie, who told me to 'go for it' aka write this fic, he doesn't write (as of rn) but is 100% the inspiration for the fic :), Raki (who may or may not get an ao3 account soon) writes when I can't, and just started writing recently as of 11/17/25
I most likely won't abandon this fic but University is KICKING MY ASS so Raki is writing for any future updates as of November 17th - Candi
