Work Text:

Night fell in the magic headquarters. While most of the wizards where probably heading to sleep, in one of these rooms two guys laughed lightly, with slightly pink-coloured cheeks, basked in each other presences. And a liquor bottle.

Earlier Rutile mentioned how he wanted to have some alcohol, and Bradley offered to drink together. It wasn't a serious invitation of course, but Rutile accepted with a smile so bright that Bradley couldn't reject him. For some reason that Bradley didn't quite understand, Rutile was surprisingly amusing to him, and easy to hang out with. Even if he made fun of him, Rutile would just laugh and scold him jokingly. That southern boy had aura that was calming, making him feel at ease.

And here they were. Sitting on the couch, illuminated by the dim light of the chandelier, sharing anecdotes of their lives before being sage's wizards. Both of them liked to talk too much, and that effort of their throats made them drink a lot. Sure Rutile had a big resistance to alcohol, he wasn't even drunk, but the emotion of the situation and the pounding on his heart were making him a bit lightheaded.

He liked Bradley. Despite looking rough, he wasn't like the other northern wizards. He had a softer side, more nice and playfully. Since that day they danced in the rain, Rutile found himself wanting to feel something like that again. But what was that something, he wondered. Maybe that was what he was feeling now, how time seemed to stop and nothing else mattered, nor the rest of the people they lived with, or the rest of the world itself. Just them having a nice moment.

Rutile get up without a particular reason, only feeling that need to stand. Like his legs were burning. And Bradley followed him. As if the blonde could fly away if he didn't catch him. More fast than their brains could process, the wizards, kind of, started to dance again. They just did some spins around the room, careful not to hit something. It was quick anyways, none of them in conditions to move that much. As they stopped, neither Rutile or Bradley could find the strength to move away.

"I didn't knew you liked to dance that much, Bradley-san". Rutile started to laugh again. Yes, maybe he was drunk. "And you have a damn problem with that?!" Bradley snapped, a bit flustered, his short temperament showing up.

Not wanting to make him angry, and without thinking at all, he can blame the liquor later, Rutile leaned forward and sealed their lips together. It lasted seconds. Maybe a minute? Rutile didn't knew. Until he caught sense on what he did and stepped back.

"I'm sorry! I'm really sorry! Please, I..." Rutile was so embarrassed, trying to hide his face on his hands. Bradley felt like his brain stopped working. He grabbed Rutile's hands and pulled them apart. "Oi, don't chicken out now!" It's all he said before kissing him again, guiding them to fell on the couch.

It felt kind of right, how they could loose in the other that easily. For now, they only wanted to enjoy it. It was something they could think about more seriously another day.
