    “I think they lied,” Sarawat said, knowing all too well that there was no way around it other than the truth.
    “Yeah, that much I can tell,” Tine responded, hands on his hips.
    “They just,” Sarawat sighed, clenching his teeth. “They just wanted you to come home early and spend some time with me, that’s all.”
    Tine threw him an utterly exasperated look, let out a breath through his mouth, before speaking, “I was in the middle of a really important discussion,” Tine said, pursing his lips in his best attempt not to get angry.
