Work Text:
Jimin needs to hurry. He had been on time all morning, had set his alarm extra early, chosen an outfit to wear and was technically perfectly prepared to get to his bus on time. He should be sitting in his classroom by now, mentally going over his notes while their professor handed out the exam sheets if it wasn’t for that stupid spider crawling right into to his shower. This resulted in Jimin needing to wake Taehyung up and dragging him out of his room to remove the spider, an act that took him exactly 10 minutes in total. 10 minutes Jimin did not have this morning.
He runs through the halls of the university building, careful not to collide with anyone. Everyone is careful not to bump into or accidentally touch someone else when they’re in a hurry, scared to meet their soulmate at the worst possible timing. Jimin can already see many people with the mark on their neck, a little sign that shows the world they have met their true soulmate.
It’s nothing spectacular, not too obvious, just a little number on one’s neck and a scar-like spot on the skin from the first touch of one’s soulmate. The number indicates the years it took for them to meet their soulmate and Jimin always finds himself studying them on the people he meets, envying the low numbers and feeling sad for the people with higher ones. There is no specific time when you meet your soulmate, it could happen anywhere, at any time.
Well, Jimin hopes it won’t happen now , he has an exam to focus on. He swings the door open to the classroom and hurries inside to bow to his professor, apologizing profoundly. His heavy panting is the loudest noise in the quiet room and Jimin hates how he can feel everyone’s eyes on him. He is used to people looking at him, either for his pastel pink hair or when he’s dancing on stage. But there are moments where he wants to simply disappear into a chair in the back, away from all the judgemental gazes. Thankfully, the professor lets him sit the exam despite being too late and Jimin knows having actively participated in this class for the last semester has saved his butt this time.
He finds an empty chair in the back and walks over to the free seat, ignoring some of the gazes that follow him there. He sits down next to Min Yoongi, a quiet guy from his class whom the professor loves for his eloquent answers despite barely ever talking in class. Yoongi doesn’t look up when Jimin sits down next to him and a part of him is glad for that. He forces his breathing to quiet down as he gets out his pen and water bottle. You can do this , Jimin tells himself, You studied hard for this. Just focus.
He turns around the exam sheet and reads the first task. Okay. He can do this. Nodding to himself, Jimin clicks his pen open and writes down his name. He has barely gotten ‘Park’ down when the ink of his pen gets thinner and thinner. Jimin shakes his pen, praying that it wouldn’t let him down now, but before he could write down the last letter of his name, the pen stopped writing completely. Jimin curses under his breath, his heartbeat picking up with the horrifying realisation that he hasn’t gotten anything else to write with him. His professor has told them over and over again to check their materials and make sure they came prepared and Jimin curses at himself again for not having done so. Angry tears shoot into his eyes; he has studied so hard for this and yet, nothing seems to work out. He huffs, ready to hand in the empty sheet and give up on this doomed day when he notices the pen held out to him. Yoongi was still not looking up at him, one hand writing on his exam sheet that looks way fuller than Jimin’s while his other hand holds out a pen to Jimin.
“Thank you”, Jimin whispers, releasing a breath and thanking the heavens – and Min Yoongi – for saving him. He reaches out to take the pen, mind already going back to the exam, but it happens so fast that Jimin is completely taken off-guard.
Many people have tried to describe the feeling before but nothing could prepare him for the rush of emotions washing over him. It is both hot and cold, like a heatwave engulfing his body while a bucket of cold water is thrown over him. It feels like all too much at once and yet, he can feel something settle inside of him, something that has aimlessly wandered around before. A shiver runs down his spine, leaving a trail of goosebumps with it. Jimin has a hard time grasping what is happening, a voice in his head shouting You have found your soulmate! You have finally found him!
Yoongi’s right hand stills in the middle of writing. Despite his gaze still being stuck on his sheet, Jimin can see that his eyes are opened wide and lips parted slightly. Jimin wants to say something, anything, but the professor warningly clearing his throat brings him back to reality. They are in the middle of an exam. Jimin silently takes the pen, seeing the red spot on Yoongi’s hand where a scar would bloom soon. He looks at his own hand and sees the brick coloured mark over his fingers, a strange emotion welling up. It feels overwhelming and a part of him wants to cry. He hadn’t expected to meet his soulmate like this, for some reason Jimin always believed he would know and like the person already but next to him is sitting a complete stranger. A heavy feeling of fear builds up in his stomach with the thought of having to open up to Min Yoongi about something he hasn’t even told people that he does know. He swallows thickly.
He chances another glance at his soulmate and sees that he’s writing again, a bit faster than before maybe, but apparently able to focus on the exam. Right , the exam. Jimin shakes himself a little, he would have to think about this later. Despite having a hard time concentrating on anything but the boy next to him, Jimin tries to focus on everything he has studied. It won’t be his best grade, Jimin can guess as much, but he manages to answer all questions at least. When the professor announces that the last 15 minutes have begun, Jimin writes in full speed, ignoring any pains on his hand from his fresh wound. He notices Yoongi leaving his seat beside him to hand in his exam and feels his chest tighten looking at the empty chair. Soulmate bonds aren’t rejectable, many people have tried but ended up with their soulmate anyway. Your soulmate is who you are destined to be with, the only way ‘out’ of it was the death of your soulmate and even then nothing can fully compare to the bond. So why did Yoongi just walk away? Why didn’t he even look at him?
Jimin finishes up quickly and hands his exam in the very last minute. His fingers feel stiff and wound and he flexes his hand as he gathers his stuff and leaves the classroom. He tries to remember anything he can from Yoongi but realises that he never paid much attention to him. His soulmate had been sitting in the same room as him for a whole semester, right before his eyes, and Jimin never noticed anything. It seems like everyone claiming they had a ‘feeling’ of who their soulmate could be are lying because this is nothing but a shock to Jimin.
“Hey.”
Jimin startles and looks up to see Min Yoongi right in front of him, backpack slung over one shoulder and a nervous expression written all over his face. Jimin had been so occupied with his thoughts, he hadn’t seen Yoongi waiting for him outside of the room and something in his panicking mind eases knowing that Yoongi hasn’t run away from him. Yet.
“Hi.” Jimin chuckles awkwardly, not able to stop himself from letting his gaze study Yoongi. He can see a small ‘25’ in the crook of his neck and instinctively reaches up to his own neck where a ‘22’ would mark his skin. Four months later and it would have been a 23, Jimin realises and chuckles a bit at the absurdity of it.
Yoongi has black hair that falls onto his forehead, sharp eyes peeking out underneath the fringe. He is about the same height as Jimin, his back slouching a little. He looks guarded but also a bit unsure; his lips are pulled into a relaxed pout and the tip of his ears flushing red. His style isn’t anything extraordinary, he’s dressed in blacks and greys, maybe wearing a bit much for a summer day in June. He’s not unattractive, definitely not unattractive, but Jimin still cannot imagine spending the rest of his life with him. He’s still a stranger.
“This feels surreal”, Yoongi comments, scratching the back of his neck. “Do you want to- I don’t know, do you want to go for a coffee or something? To talk about… this.” Jimin takes a deep breath, nervous to spend time with his soulmate for the first time. Maybe getting to know more about Yoongi will help make it feel less unfamiliar. Make him feel less unfamiliar.
They decide on going to a small coffee shop that isn’t brimming with people. The way to it had been mostly quiet, both of them sending text messages, informing their friends and family about meeting their soulmate. Jimin left his friends a message along the lines of MET MY SOULMATE!!! A guy from class idk what to think yet, going to talk to him now xx ttyl . Naturally, his phone has been constantly going off since then, probably his mother needing all the details or Taehyung wanting to give emotional support.
He snatches his phone from the table when it starts to vibrate once again and hides it in his bag, giving Yoongi an apologetic smile.
“Sorry, my friends and family are probably just freaking out.” Yoongi’s lips curl slightly upwards, his gaze focusing on the coffee in his hands.
“Understandable”, he mutters with a short huff. “I’m freaking out too.”
A part of Jimin is glad that Yoongi feels the same while another part of him worries even more. Is Yoongi disappointed that his soulmate turns out to be Jimin? Did he expect someone else? Jimin swirls the spoon in his coffee to avoid looking at Yoongi while his mind goes crazy overthinking everything.
“You’re not… seeing anyone, are you?” Jimin knows it’s a pretty direct question but he needs to know where they stand. Some people try to have relationships with others, wanting a bit of intimacy and love while they wait for their soulmate or simply having fallen for someone that isn’t destined to be theirs. It could definitely complicate things and Jimin is relieved when Yoongi shakes his head.
“I tried it once, years ago. Thought maybe I wouldn’t meet my soulmate until I’m 76 and didn’t want to wait”, he gives Jimin a lopsided smile, “It worked for a bit until my ex met his soulmate. I wasn’t convinced before but that made me realise that this soulmate bond isn’t a joke. Despite trying to fight it, my ex fell in love with his soulmate and I realised it would only cause pain to date anyone else until I met mine.” Jimin hums understandingly, not wanting to imagine how hurt Yoongi must have been to witness his ex falling for someone else. It’s the reason he has always rejected guys that tried to date him, no matter how lonely it was sometimes. Jimin had often cried himself to sleep, wondering how it feels to experience such a love. He has seen the relationship of his best friend and longed for something like that, longed to find the one person that would love him the way he is.
“Sorry, if I made things awkward.” Yoongi grimaces and runs a hand through his hair. “I shouldn’t have even mentioned my past relationship, I don’t know why I did that. I hope you don’t think I’m still hung up on anyone, I’m really not. I haven’t even had a crush on anyone in years-”
“It’s fine”, Jimin stops his rambling with a light chuckle. It’s cute that Yoongi seems to overthink as much as he himself does and Jimin likes that he doesn’t seem intimidating or annoyed. “So… what do you think about this?” What do you think about me is what Jimin wants to ask but he doesn’t want to put Yoongi into a corner.
“I’m honestly very surprised”, Yoongi admits and laughs a little, showing his teeth and gums. He has a nice smile , Jimin thinks. “Out of all people I would have never guessed that you would be my soulmate, to be honest.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Jimin huffs, narrowing his gaze at him. Yoongi raises a brow, eyes studying Jimin as he hums in thought.
“I think I am someone that blends into a crowd. I’m introverted, keeping mostly to myself and I wouldn’t really be someone you notice when I enter a room.” He snorts and vaguely waves his hand into Jimin’s direction. “Then there’s you.”
“What about me?”, Jimin asks with a tilt of his head. He has an idea what Yoongi could mean but he is still curious how Yoongi would describe him.
“You’re someone everyone notices. And not just because you have pink hair and always really fashionable clothes, there’s something in your presence that catches everyone’s attention. Beside the fact that you’re obviously good-looking as well.” Jimin smiles at the compliment while Yoongi continues, “The people in our class kept talking about you. In the very first class we had, some girl and a guy were talking about who they would want to sleep with if they had one free wish and they both chose ‘ the cute guy with pink hair and gorgeous lips’ .” Jimin chuckles along with Yoongi, feeling a little shy but he has heard comments like that before. A question forms in the back of his mind, wondering if that’s how Yoongi sees him as well. Does he want to sleep with Jimin? Does he expect to have sex with him? A tight knot forms in his stomach and Jimin quickly shakes the thought out of his head. They are only getting to know one another just yet.
“So, what do you think? What’s your opinion on me?”, Jimin wonders, trying to gauge if Yoongi is pleasantly surprised or disappointed by him being his soulmate. “And I’m not fishing for compliments, by the way, I’m honestly curious.” Yoongi takes a deep breath and puffs up his cheeks. He taps his fingers on the table for a few seconds before he releases his breath and looks at Jimin with pursed lips.
“I’m curious”, Yoongi answers in a sincere tone, “Apparently, we’re fated to be together and that must mean something. It both reassures and worries me, if I’m honest. On one hand, we know for sure that we have found our person. On the other hand, you’re kind of stuck with me now. It’s a lot of pressure.” Yoong snorts a bit but Jimin understands his worry.
“It’s a lot”, he agrees, swallowing.
“Though I have to say – just to promote myself for a second – that I’m not that bad of partner”, Yoongi changes the topic, his eyes playful. “First of all, I’m not someone that fights a lot. I’m not really impulsive and I’m a fan of talking things out, so our fights wouldn’t escalate every other day.”
Jimin laughs at that, his mood instantly lightened up. He doesn’t like fights either but he can definitely go from zero to hundred if someone provokes him. Though he would be glad if he and Yoongi kept their disagreements as tame as possible.
“Secondly”, Yoongi continues with a smirk on his face, “I am a really great cook.”
“Oh, that’s good, I can’t cook at all”, Jimin grins, “You cook, I wash the dishes. Deal?”
“You just got yourself a deal, Park Jimin.” They both laugh at that but the light mood is interrupted by the ringing sound of Yoongi’s phone. He takes a look at it and instantly winces, giving Jimin an apologetic smile. “Sorry, that’s my boss. I gotta’ take that.”
Jimin nods and lets him answer the call, drinking his coffee while Yoongi talks about deadlines and new songs and beats. Jimin gathers that Yoongi must be doing something connected to music and waits for him to finish the call before he asks about it.
“I do some producing and songwriting jobs at a smaller company. I’m not their main producer but I do my job well, I guess, because my boss is assigning me to more and more projects”, Yoongi explains with a yawn. He looks a bit exhausted and Jimin can only imagine how hard it must be to work in that business.
“So why study music psychology? You seem to have a foot in a good career path already.” Jimin tilts his head, growing more and more curious about Yoongi.
“I like my work but I didn’t want to just throw myself into it and stop learning about music. This major caught my attention and I felt like I needed to study it, even if I might choose a different career path in the end.” Yoongi glances at him, one corner of his mouth curling into a smile. “Or maybe it was just our soulmate bond that wanted us to meet. Either way, I don’t regret studying it, despite university and work killing my last nerve sometimes.”
“Well, I’m glad you made that decision. Who knows how long we would have waited to find each other”, Jimin muses and his eyes trace over the mark on his fingers again. It seems real but at the same time, it doesn’t. He can feel their bond, can feel the tickle along his skin and the restlessness inside of him settle. Despite that, however, it isn’t love at first sight. And a part of him worries how long it will take to get there. Not only from his side but Yoongi’s as well. He can see himself falling for Yoongi with time, though he isn’t sure if Yoongi feels the same way about him.
“I actually have to get to work now”, Yoongi confesses, his mouth twisted and eyes looking slightly guilty. “I’m sorry we could only talk so shortly, if I knew I would meet you today, I would have freed my schedule.”
“Don’t worry, it’s not like you could have known beforehand. Are you free this weekend?” Actually, Jimin is glad if they got to know one another better some other time. Preferably, when he has had some time to let everything sink in and can mentally prepare himself to see his soulmate.
“I can clear my schedule”, Yoongi offers, smiling widely at Jimin, “I mostly just work or meet my friends on the weekends so I can easily make some time for you.”
Jimin feels a little flustered knowing Yoongi would rearrange his schedule for him . His cheeks flush and he quickly pretends to check his phone calendar for their next meet-up. They decide to go to the park on Saturday and exchange phone numbers to be able to reach one another. Jimin hesitates for a few seconds before he saves the new number as ‘ Soulmate’ .
“What have you saved me as?”, he asks as they leave the coffee shop. Yoongi makes a confused hum and raises a brow.
“As ‘Park Jimin’? Is that not your name?”, he chuckles in response, making Jimin feel stupid now. Jimin thinks he maybe was too eager, they aren’t on the ‘soulmate’ level yet despite actually being soulmates. He gets out his phone and searches through his contacts to change Yoongi’s name again.
“Why? What do you have me saved as?”, Yoongi asks, peeking at his screen but Jimin hides it away from him. “Come on, tell me. I’m curious now.”
“I have you saved as Min Yoongi”, Jimin lies with a sniff, snatching his phone out of Yoongi’s eyesight when he tries to take a look again. He is too slow this time though because a sly grin pulls at Yoongi’s lips.
“I can change mine to ‘Soulmate’ too if you want.” He pulls out his phone, tapping away while Jimin whines in embarrassment.
“You don’t have to! I don’t care, really!” His protests go unheard though and a moment later Yoongi holds his phone in front of Jimin’s eyes, showing the changed contact name with a chicken emoji next to it.
“Why the little ducky behind it? Are you saying I’m one of your chicks? Your sidechick ?”, Jimin teases him, secretly happy that Yoongi changed his contact name.
“Mhh yes, you’re sidechick number 5, congratulations.” Yoongi laughs when Jimin lightly hits his arm and Jimin feels like the first layer of ice has broken down. Yoongi’s bus arrives at the station then and the two say their goodbyes, promising to meet each other next Saturday.
Jimin watches as the bus drives away, teeth scratching at his bottom lip. So this is it. This is his soulmate. Both excitement and nervousness start to stir in his stomach and Jimin decides to take a walk to clear his head before going home. He doesn’t even look at his phone, not wanting to feel overwhelmed with other people’s reactions before he can figure out his own.
He walks through the city, feeling comforted by the familiar sounds and smells. His mind goes through the events from today, from being late to his exam to waving Yoongi goodbye. Jimin is naturally extroverted and doesn’t have an issue with making friends quickly but he guesses that it is different for Yoongi. Considering that, their first meeting went pretty well.
When Jimin comes home, exhausted but a bit more relaxed, he does not expect to see his mother sitting at the dining table, chatting with Taehyung while munching on some dried fruit. He sucks in a breath, eyes going wide at the sight of his mother who should be in Busan right now.
“ Eomma? What on earth are you doing here?”
As soon as the two notice Jimin, they both jump from their seats and hurry over to him, bombarding him with questions and looking at the mark on his neck.
“Why didn’t you answer your phone? I called you a million times! I immediately came to Seoul, I need to know everything about that person!”, his mother rambles on, not really letting Jimin answer while Taehyung asked about details on their first meeting.
“Okay, okay, I will tell you guys everything but let me sit down first”, Jimin huffs and goes to the sink to wash his hands. He is curious about what the others will think about Yoongi and if they can relate to everything he feels right now. His mother met her soulmate, Jimin’s father, when she was still in school and Taehyung met his when they started university. He and Hoseok have been together for four years now and Jimin has always admired their bond. He wonders if things are different for him than they were for them because he is a bit older and more mature than he had been a few years back. Considering that, Jimin is suddenly glad that he hasn’t met Yoongi back then. He needed to grow into the person he is today first.
Once the three sit down again, Jimin tells Taehyung and his mother about how he and Yoongi discovered their bond and what he has learned about Yoongi so far. They coo and squeal at some parts, both Taehyung and his mother listening to him intently.
“I like him”, his mother decides once Jimin is done, “He could have ignored you when you didn’t have a pen but he decided to help you out. Plus, he seems to have a good career path already. I’m more worried about you when you tell me you came too late for your exam and came unprepared!” She cuffs him on the back of his head and Jimin pouts, shrinking away from her judging gaze.
“I think Yoongi seems like a good match for you”, Taehyung quickly pipes in then. “I mean, opposites attract and a calm and quiet introvert could match with your outgoing personality. And he doesn’t seem like a player or a fuckboy, that would have made everything complicated.” Taehyung gives him a knowing look and Jimin agrees with what he is saying. But just because Yoongi doesn’t seem like a player, doesn’t mean he won’t care about sex. Yoongi could still judge him or be disappointed to have Jimin as a soulmate once he found out. A heavy feeling pulls inside his chest at that thought.
“Ah, boys that age have their needs. It’s normal”, his mother chuckles, not realising how her words would affect Jimin. She doesn’t know how Jimin feels and he isn’t sure his mother would understand even if he told her. So he swallows thickly, trying hard not to let words like normal get to him.
Taehyung takes his hand underneath the table, his best friend supporting him silently. Jimin knows Taehyung would have jumped into a discussion but probably senses that Jimin is overwhelmed as it is and doesn’t need to hear any invalidating arguments from his mother’s side.
“I’m sure Yoongi is a good guy”, Taehyung mutters instead, squeezing Jimin’s hand, “He’s your true soulmate, after all.”
Saturday comes quicker than expected. Jimin has mentally prepared a list of things he wants to ask Yoongi to try to get an idea of who he is. A bit of excitement shines through his anxiety and worries and Jimin feels more ready than last time to meet him. He’s styling his hair when someone knocks on the door and Taehyung comes in, a mischievous look in his eyes.
“I knew you would be wearing your favourite t-shirt. White suits you really well, especially in summer”, he muses and plops onto Jimin’s bed. “Nervous?”
“Kind of. But I also want to know more about him so I’m looking forward to it too.” Jimin looks at himself in the mirror, turning from side to side to judge how he looks. He wonders if lip gloss would be too much but decides to use it anyway.
“You only have the getting-to-know-your-soulmate-time once in your life so enjoy it! Being nervous, flirting and blushing, not knowing when you’re going to kiss for the first time...” Taehyung sighs with a reminiscent look in his eyes that makes Jimin turn to face him.
“I thought you’re happy with the way things are between you and Hoseok?”
“Of course I am!”, Taehyung rushes to say before his face falls, “I love him and we’re happy together. I just- I fell in love with him at first sight. We’ve kissed on our first date and have been like a married couple ever since. I sometimes wonder how it is to fall in love with someone… someone that isn’t just meant for us. Someone I chose , you know?” Jimin isn’t sure what to respond to that. He lets it go through his head and sits down beside Taehyung, careful not to be judgmental of Taehyung’s feelings.
“We all technically chose our soulmates, there’s nothing physically stopping us from being with someone else but it often doesn’t work out because our soulmate is the one we ultimately match with most”, Jimin responds slowly, trying to read his best friend. “Is there someone… you want to fall in love with?” Taehyung averts his gaze and Jimin feels his chest tighten. Hoseok is one of his closest friends too and he doesn’t want either him or Taehyung to hurt. Another reason why he feels distressed at this is because he has just met his soulmate. He doesn’t want to think about Yoongi feeling this way.
“It’s complicated.” Taehyung groans and runs a hand over his face. “Before you think the wrong thing, it’s not just me who feels that way. Hobi and I are both confused about how we are feeling.”
“What do you mean?” Jimin glances a look at the clock and sees that he still has a few minutes to go. Taehyung needs him now, he hopes Yoongi wouldn’t mind if he is a bit late.
“Hobi and I went to this dance workshop last month, remember? We met a guy there, he’s a year younger than me. The three of us got along really well so we started to meet up with him now and then. I don’t know when it happened but I found myself thinking about him more and more and Hobi said he felt the same. I thought it was probably just in our head because Jungkook is really sweet and handsome until-” Taehyung exhales roughly, shaking his head a little. “Until we kissed. First, Hoseok and I kissed and I don’t know how it happened but suddenly he was just there, with us. It felt nice.”
Jimin gasps a little, not having expected this to happen. Taehyung and Hoseok have always had a perfect relationship, just the two of them. He didn’t know that one could have these feelings for someone that isn’t their soulmate so it comes as a surprise to him. He guesses Taehyung feels the same.
“What’s with the guy’s soulmate? Has he not found his yet?”
“His soulmate died”, Taehyung tells him with a grim look on his face, “They were childhood friends. He has been without a soulmate for six years now, he said he never expected to fall for someone ever again.”
“So, the three of you have feelings for one another? Like love?”, Jimin questions, curious and wanting to understand the situation.
“It’s not quite love yet and it’s not the same I have with Hoseok. We are all just confused but being together is nice and it feels good. Is that bad? Are we doing something wrong?” Taehyung looks at Jimin with shame swimming in his eyes and Jimin is quick to pull him into a hug. Jimin doesn’t think he would want to be in a polyamorous relationship but he could never judge Taehyung and Hoseok for catching feelings for someone else. The two have always been free spirited, Jimin thinks if anyone could manage this, it would be them.
“We can’t help for whom we catch feelings, Tae. As long as it’s consensual and the three of you are honest to each other, I don’t think this is bad at all.” He pulls back to give Taehyung a reassuring smile. “You and Hoseok won’t lose what you have. And the boy – was it Jungkook? - he deserves a chance to love and be loved as well. He won’t get a second soulmate bond but maybe having something close to it is enough.”
“Do you think it can work out?” Taehyung looks a little more hopeful and Jimin nods, feeling lighter seeing him like that.
“I think it could. But you three need to talk about it and consider everything.” They hug again, Taehyung letting out a relieved sigh.
“I will talk to them”, he promises and hugs Jimin close, “Thank you for this. And sorry for keeping you from your date. If Yoongi asks, please blame me and tell him I will give him a free make-over or buy him a coffee or something.” Jimin chuckles before letting go and ruffling Taehyung’s hair. He gets his phone and wallet then, checking himself in the mirror one last time.
“Oh, and Jimin?”
Jimin turns around, already standing in the doorway and ready to go. Taehyung gives him a warm smile.
“Yoongi is lucky to have you as his true soulmate. I’m glad you will always be my platonic one.”
Jimin is speed-walking to the place where he and Yoongi are supposed to meet. He has sent him a quick message before he went out, informing him that he would be a bit late, but he doesn’t want to keep Yoongi waiting for too long. It’s their first official date, after all. He finds Yoongi sitting on a bench with earphones in, a cap hiding all of his dark hair. He looks a little like a skater boy in his outfit and Jimin is surprised to see that side of him. He hopes to find out more about Yoongi today and what other sides of him Jimin can discover.
“Hey there”, Jimin greets when he is close enough and chuckles as Yoongi startles a bit. He immediately stands up and removes his earbuds, looking slightly flustered with Jimin suddenly standing in front of him.
“Oh, hi. How are you?” Yoongi still fiddles with his phone, probably to turn the music off, and curses underneath his breath when a loud beat suddenly rings through the speakers of his phone. Jimin watches with amusement as Yoongi flushes, trying to turn it off quickly. At least, Jimin is not the only one who seems nervous.
“I’m fine and you? Sorry for being late, by the way”, Jimin tells him once the music is turned off and Yoongi’s phone put back into his pocket. Yoongi waves him off, a wide smile on his face.
“You were always late in class and also at the exam, so I kind of expected it.” Jimin wants the earth to swallow him whole. Out of all things, the first thing his soulmate learns about him is that he tends to be late. Great.
“ I’m not doing it on purpose!” Jimin can feel himself blushing as he tries to defend himself. “I actually always get ready on time but then something happens… Please don’t think I’m taking other people’s time for granted, I don’t like to keep people waiting, it just somehow happens.” Yoongi’s eyes soften a bit and he shakes his head.
“Don’t worry about it, I’m prepared for it now. But it’s good to know that you care.” They start working towards the direction of the park and Yoongi snorts a little. “I used to get a bit annoyed at it during our classes. I thought you were one of those people that thought the world revolved around them.” Jimin twists his mouth, hearing that hurts. He knows some people think he is arrogant or selfish but knowing Yoongi thought that way too is upsetting.
“I care a lot about people”, Jimin murmurs, “Just because I’m confident or take care of the way I look doesn’t mean I’m narcissistic. Do you still think that way about me?” Yoongi looks a bit guilty as he looks at him.
“I’m sorry for having judged you before. I thought a lot about you in the past days and tried to figure out in what ways we match but I realised I don’t really know anything about you. I heard what other people said but that’s it.” He lets out a quiet hum and Jimin waits as Yoongi grasps for his words. “When I told my two closest friends about you, they told me that you’re exactly the person I need. Not that I need someone in general, but they were immediately convinced that you’re the perfect soulmate.”
“Opposed to you being confused about the match”, Jimin finishes the thought and Yoongi nods in agreement.
“I tend to see the bad in things. Not on purpose, I’m just very sceptical of good fortunes. I saw you as one opposite and me as the other instead of seeing us like a piece of a puzzle”, Yoongi explains and scratches the back of his neck. Jimin is glad that Yoongi’s friends seem to approve of him already and is relieved that Yoongi is someone who seems to reflect on his own thoughts and actions. He thinks back to his conversation with Taehyung, curious about what Yoongi thinks on that matter.
“What are your thoughts on just being with one person for the rest of your life? My friends who are soulmates recently found themselves in a bit of a dilemma because they fell for someone else. Is a polyamorous relationship something you would be interested in? If, let’s say, there is something you couldn’t get from me?” Jimin swallows, a bit anxious to hear Yoongi’s response. He knows there is something he cannot give to Yoongi, at least not to the extent he might want it. He doesn’t want to tell Yoongi about it just yet but he hopes to get a general idea on Yoongi’s view on those type on things.
“They’re soulmates and both fell for the same person?” Yoongi huffs out a little laugh, shaking his head. “That’s really interesting, I’ve never heard of something like that happening. If the person is fine with being with a soulmate-couple, good for them.” He shrugs a little and Jimin smiles.
“It’s nice that you don’t judge them”, he comments.
“And concerning my personal preferences… I guess it’s not really for me. I like the thought of having one significant other, especially if that person is my soulmate. I can’t imagine feeling like I’m not ‘getting something out of you’ , as you worded it. If I fall for you, I fall for you, just the way you are. If our needs don’t match, I hope that we’ll be able to talk about it and make sure both of us are happy.”
“Compromises”, Jimin mutters, averting his gaze from Yoongi. It feels strange to hear Yoongi talk about falling for him but not in a bad way, necessarily. It makes Jimin feel flustered and nervous at the same time but also relaxes the part of his brain that worries about rejection.
“What about you?”, Yoongi asks then and Jimin can feel his eyes on him. “If, for example, I feel uncomfortable going out with your friends, would you be upset?” Jimin hears a hint of distress in Yoongi’s voice and returns his gaze to show that he is sincere. He hasn’t considered that this could be a fear of Yoongi’s and it reassures him when it comes to his own insecurities.
“There’s nothing I expect for you except for basic human respect. You talking down to me, not respecting my boundaries or being aggressive is something that would upset me in a soulmate. Being uncomfortable to go out with my friends is not a problem for me.” Jimin gives Yoongi a reassuring smile, nudging him a little with his shoulder. “Just because I’m more extroverted doesn’t mean I dislike being at home. I don’t go to clubs every day or need to go out at all times. I enjoy the quiet moments too so don’t worry about that. I’m sure we will find a good balance.” Yoongi visibly relaxes at that, his eyes studying Jimin in a curious way.
“The more I get to know you, the more I realise that I didn’t have to worry so much. It’s hard to trust a stranger but it’s kind of sad to think that my own fears would have stopped me from ever approaching you if it wasn’t for the soulmate marks.” Yoongi nibbles on his bottom lip, a thoughtful look on his face. Jimin understands what he means, he doesn’t know if he had given Yoongi a chance if he hadn’t known that he’s his soulmate. The thought feels wrong to him now.
“It’s funny how we always long for happiness but stop ourselves from reaching that. We’re so scared of something going wrong that we ruin things before giving them a chance to work out.” Jimin looks at the road ahead of them, the trees and meadows, children laughing around them and the sun lighting up the park. They have a long way to go but Jimin hopes that things will stay like that, warm and full of sunshine.
Jimin learns many things about Yoongi on their date. Yoong tells him that his favourite colours are black and white, that he likes to eat beef with his friends and always eats rice cakes with his father, that his wardrobe consists of mostly black and loose clothes and that he likes to read books about psychology. But there are also the things that Yoongi doesn’t tell him that Jimin gets to know: Jimin notices the way Yoongi is very expressive with his eyebrows, the way he slouches a bit and the way he nibbles on his lower lip when he is thinking. Jimin sees the little mole beside his mouth and studies how Yoongi’s sharp eyes can appear adorably round at times.
One date turns to many and Jimin slowly gets to know every side of Yoongi. Due to a comeback of one of the artists in the company Yoongi works for, he is fairly busy with work but Yoongi tries his best to make time for Jimin. They go out to eat, take a walk around the block or simply chat in one of the free studios of the company building. A comfortable bond settles between them, one that causes shy glances and leaves tickles in their stomach. Without Jimin realising, Yoongi turns from being a stranger to someone close to his heart.
A day before Jimin finally gets to meet Yoongi’s closest friends Namjoon and Jin, he meets up with Taehyung for a coffee date. Both of them have been too busy to properly talk about everything that has been going on in their life and Jimin has to admit that he missed his best friend despite seeing him almost every day. He’s excited to update him about the blossoming feelings between Yoongi and him and also curious how Taehyung’s situation has ended up. Taehyung has been away from their flat a lot lately.
“So, how are things with you and Yoongi? I was so excited to finally see him in person when he picked you up last Friday”, Taehyung tells him with a wide smile on his face, “He left a really good impression, I have to say. I like his calmness.”
“He was so nervous to meet you, I’m glad you like him.” Jimin feels happy to know that his best friend approves of Yoongi, stirring his coffee with a content grin on his lips. “It’s nice with him, I feel giddy whenever we meet. Things are really good between us.” Too good , his mind provides but Jimin tries to hush that thought away. He wants to let himself have this without his worries ruining it.
“Are you saying he managed to snatch away your heart already? I mean, I definitely saw some heart eyes on his part”, Taehyung comments with a teasing smirk, snickering when Jimin hides his flushing face in his hands.
“Okay, okay, I might as well admit it”, Jimin sighs and glances at Taehyung’s mischievous face again. “Yes, I’ve caught feelings for Yoongi-hyung and from what I can tell and hope, those feelings are reciprocated.” Taehyung starts to cheer excitedly and Jimin quickly shushes him, not able to stop his lips from smiling.
“Nothing has happened yet”, Jimin adds, “I think he wants to though. He sometimes stares at my lips when I’m closer to him and he recently started to find excuses to hold my hand.” He chuckles at the memory of Yoongi saying his hands were cold in the middle of July. Or on another occasion, where Yoongi told Jimin he didn’t want him to get lost in the city and needed to hold his hand. It’s those little things that make Yoongi so endearing that Jimin has a hard time keeping his heart still around him.
“Have you two talked already?” Judging from the more serious expression in Taehyung’s eyes, Jimin knows what his best friend is talking about. He takes a deep breath before shaking his head, the reality of things crashing down on him.
“I know I need to. I want to. It’s just...” Jimin swallows, unsure how to put his feelings into words.
“Are you scared how he will react?”, Taehyung questions, his voice gentle. “From what you told me, he seems very open and non-judgemental.”
“It’s not that. I know Yoongi-hyung wouldn’t invalidate my feelings”, Jimin is quick to explain. Yoongi is kind and gentle, Jimin is sure he wouldn’t force him to anything or expect Jimin to change himself.
“What is it then?” Taehyung waits patiently as Jimin tries to find his words. He has been with him through many inner turmoils and knows that Jimin sometimes needs time to grasp his feelings and verbalise them.
“What if he’s disappointed?” The words feel unpleasant rolling over Jimin’s tongue. Saying his fear out loud makes it feel more real, in some way. “What if he suffers for the rest of his life because I can’t satisfy him that way? What if he wishes to have a partner that can fulfil his needs?” Jimin knows that he doesn’t need to satisfy Yoongi but he wants to make him happy. He doesn’t want Yoongi to feel like their relationship is lacking anything.
“I don’t think he will suffer for the rest of his life, you two can find ways to make your relationship work.” Taehyung says his words with confidence but Jimin has a hard time believing them. “Not every relationship is the same and not every relationship needs sex. Intimacy exists in many different ways, Hoseok and I aren’t sleeping with each other all the time either. Sometimes we’re also not in the mood for that.”
“What do you do then?” Jimin has to admit that he is curious. He has never dated anyone and all the TV shows or movies always make it look like sex is the essential factor for a healthy relationship. Everyone has it, or so the media makes it seem. Every fictional character who hasn’t slept with anyone for longer than a few months is either obsessively horny or desperate for it. Jimin has always looked for someone just like him, his teenage self having had trouble understanding himself.
“Sometimes we just hold each other”, Taehyung hums with a tender smile on his lips, “I like when he kisses my neck or my arms. It’s nothing heated but it feels nice. We also take baths together, just being close and intimate without it having to lead to sex.” Jimin thinks it sounds nice. He wants to have that with Yoongi, wants to be close to him like that.
“So… you don’t think I’m taking something from him?” Jimin fidgets with his hands, his chest feeling tight at the thought. Taehyung holds his gaze steadily as he answers, not an ounce of doubt in his voice.
“I know you’re not. Sex isn’t the most important thing to give to your partner, that’s not what love is about. You loving him is enough. You are enough, Jimin, with or without having sex.” He sighs a bit before taking Jimin’s hands in his own, squeezing them tightly. “Trust Yoongi to love you beyond this. Please talk to him, I know you two can make it work.”
Jimin feels many different emotions flutter through him, Taehyung’s words hitting a deep wound. You are enough , he repeats to himself again. His eyes glaze over with tears and he quickly gives Taehyung a thankful and reassuring smile before changing the topic. He doesn’t want to overthink any more, he knows it’s time for him to talk to Yoongi about this.
“And how are things for you and Hoseok? Were you able to talk?”, Jimin wonders, feeling a bit lighter than before. Taehyung takes a sip of his coffee, a thoughtful expression in his eyes.
“The talk with Hoseok went pretty smoothly, we both want a relationship that includes Jungkook. The talk with Jungkook was… not the easiest.” Taehyung grimaces. “He was scared to be the odd one out and I get it, you know? Hoseok and I are not only soulmates, we’ve also been in a relationship for quite some time. But Jungkook also told us he has developed feelings for us and doesn’t want to let us go.”
“What does that mean for the three of you now?” Jimin tilts his head and watches as a small smile curls around Taehyung’s lips.
“We’re trying to figure it out. Jungkook being with us is different but not in a bad way. He is shy but really sweet and he fits perfectly to Hoseok and me. I was worried that my love would shift, that I would lose what I have with Hoseok to be able to have something different with Jungkook but it’s not at all like that. Jungkook just adds to our happiness.”
It’s interesting to see in how many different ways love exists. His whole life, Jimin only knew soulmates. He has only known the conventional love, two people that would fall in love, have a honeymoon phase and have children. But Jimin realises now that it doesn’t have to be like that. It wasn’t love at first sight with Yoongi and they would never have the same sex life as other couples but it doesn’t mean their love story is any less perfect. Taehyung’s happiness with his love for two people just proves that. Jimin smiles to himself, hoping he can finally let himself be happy.
Seokjin and Namjoon are the funniest duo Jimin has ever seen in his life. The two have found out about their soulmate bond during their childhood days and Jimin laughs with tears in his eyes as they recall the time they have hated one another throughout puberty but eventually grew into the people they fell in love with.
“Be glad you found Yoongi only now, he’s had some horrible hairstyles before”, Seokjin tells him and shudders, “I actually think I still have some pictures of Yoongi and Namjoon’s worst phase fashion wise-”
“That you will not show, thank you very much”, Yoongi grumbles beside Jimin who laughs at his embarrassed face. “Remind me to burn all those pics one day, Joon.”
“Ah, it’s good to see how far we’ve come, hyung. I like to look back at our rebellious days.”
Namjoon and Seokjin have known Yoongi for a long time and it’s interesting to see how he acts around them. There is a lot of trust and history, so much is clear to Jimin. He had been glad before that they decided to meet at Yoongi’s place so that he feels comfortable in the space but the three never make him feel left out or closely judged.
A rumble from Jimin’s stomach causes Seokjin’s eyes to widen and he scolds Yoongi for not having prepared any lunch. Despite Jimin’s protest, Seokjin ushers Yoongi to the kitchen so that the two of them can cook something, leaving Jimin alone with Namjoon. Namjoon is Yoongi’s longest and closest friend and Yoongi has often claimed him to be part of his family. It’s important to Jimin to leave a good impression on him, he knows Yoongi values Namjoon’s opinion a lot.
“My fiancé can be a lot sometimes, I’m sorry if you’re feeling overwhelmed”, Namjoon apologises but Jimin waves him off.
“I felt nervous before meeting you guys but Jin-hyung has eased any tension immediately. He makes it easy to feel comfortable and welcome around him.” Jimin can understand why Yoongi speaks so highly of Seokjin, he hopes they will become good friends in future too.
“He always likes to make sure no one feels uncomfortable”, Namjoon agrees with a fond look in his eyes, “But on another note, Jimin, you have really nothing to be nervous about. Both Jin and I can see that you’re good for Yoongi-hyung. We could do so even before today.”
“Really?” Jimin feels a huge weight life from his shoulders at those words.
“Yoongi-hyung can lose himself in his work sometimes. He does so much for that company, tries to fit in his studies and barely has time left to take care of himself. I’ve often seen him tired and exhausted before”, Namjoon explains with a sadness swimming in his gaze. “It changed though, now that he met you. He’s more lively and giddy, like a teenager having their first crush. He also blushes more- hell, that’s something he never did before.”
Jimin giggles and feels his heart almost ache with the need to pull Yoongi into a hug. He cares so much for him and doesn’t want him to overwork himself ever again. Yoongi deserves all his smiles, Jimin thinks.
“Thank you for telling me that. It’s really nice to hear.” He gets a warm smile in return from Namjoon.
“Thank you for being good to him. Yoongi-hyung is my best friend and I just want to see him happy. I know he cares a great deal about you so meeting you was important to both me and Jin.”
Jimin feels warm and content throughout lunch. They all laugh and chat about anything and Jimin promises to introduce his friends to them soon. He’s sure they would all get along well. After they wash the dishes, Seokjin suggests going to the lake not too far away. It’s a hot summer day and they only manage to stay inside with fans turned on so a trip to the lake doesn’t sound too bad. Yoongi lends Jimin one of his swim shorts and the four of them go to a nice little clearing they have apparently discovered some years ago.
Nobody else is around despite the high temperatures and the other three tell Jimin that it’s so secret that they are mostly by themselves here. The cool water feels good on his heated skin and Jimin lets himself relax for a moment before someone splashes some water at him. He opens his eyes and glares at Yoongi who has an almost childish grin on his lips, another side of him Jimin has never expected to see. Soon, the four of them start a splashing war, all of them giggling and laughing as they splash each other with water.
At some point, Namjoon and Seokjin play a game of trying to push each other underwater and Jimin and Yoongi take that time to swim a little further away for some time alone. They hide behind a bigger rock and Jimin chuckles when Yoongi leans against it, closing his eyes with a deep sigh.
“Someone’s tired?”, he coos and gets an affirmative grunt in response.
“A whole day around these idiots is exhausting”, Yoongi mumbles and blindly reaches out for Jimin, “I’m not saying I need some cuddles but I wouldn’t mind them right now.” Jimin’s stomach swirls with butterflies and he quickly takes him up on the offer, wrapping his arms around Yoongi’s shoulders.
Yoongi hugs him close and for a long moment they just stay like that, holding one another. Yoongi’s hands don’t wander around and instead stay on his back, something Jimin appreciates. He enjoys Yoongi’s proximity, it feels right to be held by him and feel his touch on his own skin.
“I want to stay like this forever”, Jimin admits, nuzzling into the crook of Yoongi’s neck. He always smells good.
“I didn’t think I could feel this way about anyone.” Yoongi’s voice is quiet and honest and Jimin doesn’t pull back to look at him, thinking that maybe it’s easier for him to talk like that. “I used to think I had it all figured out and nothing could surprise me. Even in my last relationship, I didn’t have what I have with you now. I never knew I could feel this way about someone, I never knew I could be this happy with another person.” Yoongi pulls back then and takes Jimin’s hand in his own. He traces his finger over Jimin’s mark there before pressing his lips against it in a soft kiss.
“Hyung”, Jimin breathes, his breath hitching, “I like you. I want to be with you.” Yoongi looks up and they gazes lock. Warmth pools in Yoongi’s eyes and he gives Jimin a wide smile, happiness written all over it.
“I like you too, Jimin-ah. More than that, I think actually.”
They both lean in and share a sweet kiss with one another. It’s new but familiar, quick but long enough for Jimin’s heart to swell in his chest. Jimin likes those kisses. He decides to talk to Yoongi today, wanting to share everything with Yoongi now. He trusts him.
They part with Namjoon and Seokjin after they leave the lake and go back to Yoongi’s place. Jimin looks at their intertwined hands and swings them between him and Yoongi, a bright smile on his face. Yoongi looks just as giddy, his eyes wandering to Jimin every few seconds. Jimin hopes he will still smile like that after their talk.
They separately take a shower at Yoongi’s place and Jimin enjoys wearing Yoongi’s soft shirt and sweatpants as he walks out of the bathroom. He has always wanted to steal his boyfriend’s clothes like all the other couples always did. He startles when Yoongi suddenly turns some music on, snickering as he enters the living room.
“Whatcha’ planning?” Yoongi turns to him with a shy look on his face, fiddling with his ear.
“You said you like to dance, right? I composed this song and I thought of dancing with you as I worked on it”, Yoongi confessed and Jimin’s heart positively melts. Yoongi takes one of his hands and clumsily twirls him around. “I’m not the best dancer but I know something about rhythm, at least.” Jimin chuckles and lets Yoongi hold his waist as they swing from side to side.
“It’s perfect”, Jimin whispers, looking into Yoongi’s eyes, “Thank you.”
Yoongi leans in to kiss Jimin again, pressing his lips to his softly. Jimin sighs into the kiss and lets Yoongi kiss him again, and again. But when Yoongi starts to part his lips to kiss him deeper, Jimin pulls back, knowing he needs to have an important conversation with Yoongi.
“Everything alright?”, Yoongi asks, his eyes instantly widening with worry.
“I need to talk to you about something.” Jimin takes a step back but takes both of Yoongi’s hands in his own, needing the touch to keep him grounded. Yoongi is still here and he won’t leave him just because of this.
Yoongi looks very nervous now but nods and Jimin decides to get to the point immediately, like ripping a band-aid off. He feels something digging its claws into his stomach but he fights against it and takes a deep breath.
“I’m asexual.” Yoongi’s eyes widen a little and Jimin sees him suck in a breath. Fighting any anxiety rushing through his body, Jimin decides to keep on talking to explain further. “I didn’t know when to tell you and wanted to find the right moment for it. We’re soulmates and about to start a relationship, I think it’s important now to tell you about my boundaries.”
“Shit, Jimin. Did I make you uncomfortable?” Shame fills Yoongi’s face but he keeps his eyes locked with Jimin’s. “I’m so sorry if I went too far. I didn’t- I didn’t realise-”
“It’s fine, hyung, that’s why I’m telling you now”, Jimin reassures him, squeezing his hands. “Let’s sit down and talk about this.” They both settle down on the couch, facing one another. Yoongi still looks a bit guilty so Jimin gives him a reassuring smile.
“Kisses are fine. At least the ones we had”, he informs him, “I just wanted to stop you before things got more intense. But soft kisses like that are nice.” Yoongi visibly relaxes at that and repeats his words, as if to memorise them.
“Kisses are fine. Okay, good. Anything beyond that is not comfortable?” He doesn’t look judgemental as he asks and it makes Jimin feel more at ease answering his question.
“I don’t desire it but I don’t feel repulsed by it. Asexuality is different for everyone, really. I personally wouldn’t initiate to sleep with you but I would sometimes, if rarely, take that step. It’s important to me that we can find compromises, I read online that some couples agree on a number of times they have sex in a certain timespan, others find different ways to be intimate. It’s just- if we’re both willing to cooperate, I hope we can make it work.” Yoongi’s face softens and he carefully scoots closer, taking Jimin’s hands in his again.
“Of course we can make it work”, he says so easily that Jimin has no choice but to trust him with it. “There’s no doubt in that. Yes, I would love to sleep with you but it’s not all that matters to me. I’m glad if I can just do this.” Yoongi leans forward then to press his lips softly to Jimin’s forehead, lips lingering on his skin. Jimin lets his eyes flutter close. Yoongi’s lips feel soft against his skin, leaving it slightly tingling as he pulls back and gives Jimin the most tender look Jimin has ever seen on him.
“So you think you can be happy? With me?” Jimin needs to hear it from his lips again, needs the confirmation one more time before he can finally let his heart rest from his inner tumult.
“Jimin, you made me happy before you even kissed me.” Yoongi wets his lips, eyes flickering between Jimin’s. “You never have to worry about that, okay? I just want you to be as happy as I am in this relationship.” Jimin nods, his heart feeling so full of love he doesn’t know what to do with it.
“You have no idea what that means to me”, he whispers, not trusting his voice to speak. He looks at Yoongi, wondering how this man can hold so much love for him.
“I think you have no idea what you mean to me”, Yoongi snorts with a chuckle before his face turns more serious. “But please tell me if I ever go too far, okay? No matter if we agreed on going further, always be honest with me on how you feel. Okay? I don’t want to hurt you.” Jimin smiles then, a little wetly but happy nonetheless.
“Okay. I promise.”
And he keeps his promise. Over the next weeks, Jimin and Yoongi test out different things, trying to find a balance between Yoongi’s and Jimin’s needs. Yoongi starts to take long showers to satisfy his sexual needs before he can safely cuddle with Jimin, letting the younger pamper him with sweet kisses then. They do have sex but very rarely and Yoongi always makes sure to take good care of Jimin and ask him if he is comfortable. And Jimin is, as long as he is in Yoongi’s arms afterwards, feeling protected from the world outside.
“The tub is ready!”
Jimin quickly ends the phone call and hurries to the bathroom where Yoongi is already waiting for him in his bathtub. He strips off his clothes and joins his boyfriend, letting the water warm up his freezing skin.
“Sorry, sorry, Jungkook keeps nagging me about Tae’s birthday present. He wants to have the best one for him”, Jimin explains with a roll of his eyes. Yoongi wraps his hands around him from behind, pulling Jimin into his chest with a low hum.
“Why doesn’t he do something with Hoseok? I went shopping with him recently to find a gift for Taehyung”, Yoongi wonders and Jimin is glad that his own friends get along well with Yoongi and his friends.
“The two have a stupid bet going on, the one that makes Taehyung cry with the present gets massages from the other for a whole month or something.” Jimin leans his head back against Yoongi’s shoulder. “My bet is Hoseok will win but he lost last time so who knows.”
“Well, aren’t you lucky to have an amazing boyfriend that gives you massages whenever you want”, Yoongi muses and noses along Jimin’s shoulder.
“Excuse you, I gave you a massage just two days ago”, Jimin huffs and flicks his head, “Or did you forget about that already?” Yoongi tightens his arms around him, pursing his lips into a cute pout.
“I think I forgot. It seems you have to remind me again.” He grins widely and Jimin can’t help to snicker along with him, shaking his head with fond eyes.
“You’re so needy, you’re lucky I love pampering you so much”, Jimin sighs and presses a kiss to the tip of Yoongi’s nose. Yoongi is just so cute .
“Oh, I know I’m lucky”, Yoongi responds and lets Jimin press another kiss to his lips. And another. “So damn lucky.”
Three couples and yet, none like the other. Jimin wouldn’t have it any other way. He loves Yoongi and Yoongi loves him. Just like that.
