If you are reading this for the first time, it means that I think that I can trust you with all of my secrets and the secrets of those closest to me. What you are about to read can easily be misconstrued as some daydream conjured fantasy, and I would not blame you for thinking that. Despite all of that, I promise you, that every word in this book is nothing but the truth. My truth. Though, who you think I am may be different from what that truth is. I have had to take up many identities over the course of my life, mostly due to the fact that my true identity does not translate perfectly from situation to situation. As such, I believe reintroductions are in order.
I name is Jack Harvey. I am a member of the Human Race from the third planet of the Solar System which is known as Earth. I was born on the 3rd of July 1999 according to the Gregorian Calendar, on the country of Australia and the state of Victoria.
Depending on who you are and where you are from, that introduction may have been entirely redundant, or completely nonsensical. Either way, what I neglected to mention is that I am from a parallel dimension. If you do not know what that is, it is a reality that is separate from the one you know.
This leads to what is essentially my occupation. I am what is referred to as a ‘Jumper.’ Not an article of clothing, but an interdimensional traveller who works for the entertainment of a bored deity. For ten years, every ten years, I visit a new reality and simply do as I wish. So long as Elf, the aforementioned deity, thinks it's fun. Luckily, I have a lot of leeway. Generally, I choose to make the world a better place, which Elf is all too happy to endorse. My frankly insane situation is what is called a ‘Jumpchain.’
This book is a self-writing Journal that records my Jumpchain as it occurs. I obtained it in a world in which violence is physically impossible and conflicts are solved through playing games. So be careful with it.
Even if I have given you this book to read for the sake of necessity, I hope you enjoy reading through my past adventures and mistakes. If you have any questions, feel free to call for me, though do not be disappointed if I decide to not answer for the sake of spoilers.
Remember, none of what you read from now on is a lie.
