Work Text:

Chuuya remembers being on a mission and chasing down a rogue ability user that is spreading unwanted trouble in Yokohama.

He and the mafia still have not been able to grasp the details of the rogue's ability since he had popped out of nowhere in the city only five days ago and had already been causing tons of problems.

Needless to say, Chuuya is utterly pissed that Mori has assigned him so suddenly to hunt this annoying ability user down on his supposed day off.

Gritting his teeth in annoyance, the mafia executive's sharp eyes catch a glimpse of the ability user fleeing a scene after he and backup from the Port Mafia had arrived. He proceeds to run after him, determined not to let the rogue out of his sight.

The rogue is fast, but Chuuya manages. Eventually he catches up and is about to activate his gravity manipulating ability before the rogue turns around and thus catches him off guard.

The rogue smirks and his hand glows, pointing at him and Chuuya gets hit by an invisible force that throws his body against the wall behind him.

While he is distracted, the ability user takes the chance and flees at once. Chuuya tries to bark out orders to some of the men following him to go after the rogue, but his head begins spinning and his vision blurs.

Eventually, he passes out.

Once he regains consciousness, he finds himself laying in a bed with Kouyou and Akutagawa in the room.

Chuuya sits up, turning to ask Kouyou about the rogue's current whereabouts before noticing the weird purple mark in the shape of a tiny heart visible on his wrist.

"What is this?" he mutters incredulously, flipping his wrist back and forth as if that the mark will fade if he continuously repeats the action. "What happened?"

"That rogue used his ability on you," Kouyou explains. "you instantly fainted after he did. He ran away, and the mafia is researching his whereabouts and sending more backup this time to catch him."

"Oh," Chuuya mutters. "Did anything else happen?"

"The agency's weretiger called a little earlier." Akutagawa piped up. "It appears Dazai-san has abruptly fainted during work. The female doctor examined him, and apparently this time he isn't faking it."

"What?" is the concerned sound Chuuya lets out. He immediately gets off the bed and puts on his black gloves and hat whilst heading towards the door. "I'm going to the agency. I'll be back soon unless the stupid mackerel dies."

"Chuuya-san, what about that weird mark on your wrist? We should at least research about that first—"

"Don't know, don't care." Chuuya's cold tone cuts Akutagawa off as he exits the room with a loud slam of the door.

Kouyou shakes her head, "He's as melodramatic as always. Well, that's what love does to you."

Akutagawa shifts his gaze from the door Chuuya had just walked out of to the older female. "Kouyou-san, do you have any idea what that purple mark is?"

"I've never seen it." Kouyou admits with a shrug. "We'll just have to wait and see what happens first."

Akutagawa nods, lowering his head slightly to his senior before excusing himself and exiting the room.

Things get really odd the next day at the Armed Detective Agency.

A simple summary of the current situation; Dazai has actually turned up to work today on time, which is something he's never done before in the years he's been working at the agency.

The agency members, excluding Ranpo, are all staring at Dazai standing by the entrance door, wide-eyed and dumbfounded.

"What?" Dazai says, a hint of irritation evident in his tone, which is extremely odd because normally he's the one who's irritating other people. Atsushi splutters.

Kunikida still looks surprised, glasses nearly slipping off the bridge of his nose as his mouth gapes like a fish. "Oi, Dazai, did you accidentally hit your head today?"

Dazai scoffs, "What the fuck are you talking about? Is there something wrong with coming to my workplace on time?"

Yosano and Kunikida choke in unison at Dazai's response. Yosano stares as Dazai strolls over to his desk beside Atsushi and is actually sitting down and turning on his computer instead of going to lounge on the couches next door and singing his self composed songs about suicide.

Atsushi subtly leans to glance at Dazai's computer screen, expecting the man to be playing video games so he could finally sigh in relief. His expression morphs into a look of horror because Dazai is doing his supposed work and typing out reports for past cases instead.

"What the fuck is going on here?" Yosano murmurs loudly as the awkward silence stretches for at least 5 more minutes. "Dazai is actually on time and doing his paperwork!"

Dazai lifts his head to glare at the woman. "Is that wrong?"

The doctor isn't at all intimidated by said glare targeted at her, but it does make her stare back at the bandaged man weirdly. She glances at the other agency members, "See?"

Ranpo snorts, lazily leaning back against his chair with a look of an amusement on his face. Atsushi turns to him anxiously, "Ranpo-san, you know what's going on, don't you? Is a huge war going to break out soon or is the agency building going to collapse?"

"What nonsense are you going on about?" Dazai snarls as he types furiously on his computer. "I'm just doing my fucking work like everyone else. Why are you guys acting like it's the end of the world?"

"Because you working is actually a possible indication that the end of the world is near!" Tanizaki blurts.

Dazai rolls his eyes, mumbling something along the lines of 'morons' under his breath.

Ranpo tuts, "No, it's definitely not the end of the world, fortunately. I, the great master detective, have already figured out what happened to Dazai over here!" he boasts proudly as he rises from his seat. "Atsushi-kun, check Dazai's wrist."

Atsushi makes an unintelligible noise similiar to a protest. Dazai lets out a long sigh and lifts his arm towards Atsushi. "Go ahead. Get this madness over with quickly so I can finish my work on time."

From the distance Kunikida emits a noise similiar to a choking chicken.

Atsushi nervously grabs Dazai's arm before slowly tugging back the bandages wrapped around his wrist.

The grey haired boy's eyes spot the mark of a purple heart on Dazai's wrist, hidden underneath the bandages. Atsushi furrows his eyebrows, "Dazai-san, is this a tattoo?"

"What? Fuck no." Dazai answers and pulls his arm away. "This weird mark appeared on my wrist last night. I have no idea what the heck it is, but I think it has something do with that stupid microsized hat rack."

Tanizaki blinks. "You mean Nakahara-san from the Port Mafia?"

"Who else?" Dazai huffs. "The dumb dog probably got himself tangled in some trouble. Well, the mark has done me no harm and everything seems to be fine, so it's nothing to worry about—"

"What do you mean there's nothing to worry about?" Kunikida interrupts. "Your entire behaviour today is a whole 180° difference compared to yesterday!"

Yosano remains quiet, seemingly deep in thought. Ranpo notices and chuckles, "You finally solved it, Yosano?"

The doctor exhales a sigh. "I suppose I have."

"We'll be expecting a call from the mafia soon," Ranpo informs. The telephone on his desk rings right after he finishes his sentence. "Ah, here it is."

The detective picks up the phone and places it against his ear, "Hello, Port Mafia. Lovely day today, huh?"

"Cut the small talk," Kouyou's voice is heard from the other line of the phone call. In the background there are even faint noises similiar to aggressive shouting and panicked shrieking. "We want to talk about Chuuya and Dazai. Something is wrong."

"Eh? What do you mean?" Ranpo laughs.

"Don't play dumb." Kouyou replies sharply. "Chuuya has attempted to jump off the building at least three times today, and didn't bother activating his ability to save himself! He's even been singing songs about suicide all day! It's driving the mafia crazy!"

"What a coincidence," Ranpo whistles. "Dazai has been acting off his rocker today as well. He actually showed up to the agency on time."

"At least he isn't the one so thrilled to see death at the moment!" The female executive shouts impatiently. "Hurry up and get your asses to the Port Mafia. Make sure to bring Dazai. We need to have a discussion about this."

Kouyou instantly hangs up without another word. Ranpo snorts as he sets the telephone down and places his hat on his head. "Folks, looks like we're going to pay a visit to the Port Mafia right now." he announces.

"Why?" Dazai grits. "I have absolutely no desire to see the stupid shortie today."

Ranpo shrugs nonchalantly. "Atsushi, Kunikida, just grab him and let's go."

The agency members arrive at the Port Mafia's headquarters, where Chuuya, Kouyou, Akutagawa, Higuchi, along with a line of men standing guard are already waiting inside.

"Jesus, why do you look like you're about to attack us?" Ranpo sighs. "We did what you asked us to and brought Dazai here."

Chuuya grins mischievously, skipping towards an annoyed Dazai, "You were excited to see me, weren't you, mackerel?"

"As if. I was brought here against my own will." The bandaged man responds coldly. "I didn't plan on seeing your dumb face at all today."

However, Chuuya seems unaffected and the smile grows wider on his face. "How hurtful of you, mackerel. You should be extremely honored to have me grace your presence today!"

"I will punch you."

"How? I don't think your noodles arm can do shit to me. Not even to an amateur or a child."

Dazai already looks pissed, which is an extremely rare sight to witness. "I swear to god, I will strangle you, then throw you off a bridge, so you can't even activate your ability to save yourself." he snaps.

"I'll just drag you down with me!" Chuuya beams, azure eyes swirling with mischief. "A lovers' suicide. How romantic, mackerel. I always wanted to try that with you."

"Shut the fuck up."

Ranpo ends the two's bickering with a clear of his throat. Everyone turns their attention to the detective. "As all of you can see, we can already pinpoint what that pain in the ass rogue the Port Mafia has been chasing's ability is. Does anyone want to take a guess?"

"Dazai-san and Chuuya-san have... swapped personalities?" Atsushi guesses nervously.

Ranpo nods enthusiastically, "Exactly! They're technically still themselves and their abilities are the same, but their behaviours have switched, along with their personal habits and preferences! Chuuya is now obsessed with suicide, and Dazai is always moody."

"So it isn't a sudden miracle that Dazai turns up to work on time and that this will end soon?" Kunikida asks, a clearly disappointed expression looming over his face. Ranpo nods once more. The bespectacled man sighs loudly and proceeds to tear a page off his notebook that he had just written this morning, crumpling it instantly.

"So basically," Atsushi coughs. "Chuuya-san is now a suicidal masochist and Dazai-san is a tsundere?"

"Who are you calling a tsundere, brat?" Dazai yells from a distance, trying hard to pry himself away from Chuuya's arms. "Get off me, you annoying little slug!"

"And me, a suicidal masochist?" Chuuya muses, ignoring Dazai's raged protests. "I'm a little hurt, Atsushi-kun~!"

The taller male shoves the red head's face away, which only causes Chuuya to latch onto his back tighter. Dazai clenches his fists and groans out loud in frustration.

"This is so weird." Tanizaki mumbles from behind Ranpo. "Oh lord, this is so weird."

Kouyou scowls. "And how long will this ability last? I don't exactly appreciate seeing Chuuya act like this and constantly try to fling himself off a building."

"Dazai tries to do it all the time but he still survives regardless." Ranpo waves a hand at her. "It'll be fine. As for the ability, it surely shouldn't last too long. Just focus on catching the rogue for now."

"You think it has something to do with the purple heart mark on Chuuya-san's wrist, detective?" Higuchi questions.

Kunikida nods. "Dazai has one on his wrist too. I'm assuming it'll fade away as soon as the ability wears off."

"Chuuya-san got hit by that ability user, right?" Atsushi asks curiously. "But why is Dazai-san affected by it as well?"

Akutagawa snorts from where he is standing between Kouyou and Higuchi. "Isn't it a little too obvious, stupid weretiger? Dazai-san fainted right after Chuuya-san did as well after he got hit by the rogue. The mark on their wrists is the shape of a heart. It most likely has something to do with their intimate relationship or whatever."

Atsushi's face turns red. "Right." he murmurs. Akutagawa huffs and looks away.

"Dazai! Let's have a double suicide right now! I know a fantastic place just for it!" Chuuya suggests cheerfully. The red head attempts to drag the man away, but Dazai doesn't budge.

The brown haired detective growls. "No. I'm going back to work, and so will you." he declares.

Chuuya sighs dramatically. "You don't want to see me that much, my dear Dazai?"

"Yes." the other man deadpans with zero hesitation. He shoves his hands into the pockets of his trenchcoat and heads towards the door. "I'm leaving. Any longer I stay in this place and I might retch."

The door swings open and Dazai storms out. Atsushi runs after him hurriedly, followed by the other agency members with Ranpo waving at the mafia members before slowly closing the door behind him.

Chuuya sits down on his chair and crosses his arms with a sulk on his face. "He's such a stubborn mackerel." the executive mumbles under his breath, shaking his head as he does so.

Kouyou, Akutagawa and Higuchi all stare at him, each looking exasperated, knowing that they'll have to endure Chuuya's insufferable Dazai-like personality for some time until the mark on his wrist fades.

Curse Nakahara Chuuya for falling in love with a troublesome man like Dazai Osamu.

The mark still hasn't faded away despite it being almost four days since it appeared.

Dazai is still acting like Chuuya. To Kunikida's delight, due to this incident Dazai has been handing in his reports on time and is rather punctual now. Atsushi and Kyouka have even seen the bespectacled man curled up on the ground sobbing in happiness after Dazai had left the agency with all his paperwork completed and with no stupid mistakes.

"His desk is actually neat for once." Yosano gasps, motioning to Dazai's desk, which is usually untidy and piled up with papers all over the place. Ever since he had swapped personalities with Chuuya, the desk looks much cleaner and organised.

"Is it bad for me to hope that the mark never fades?" Tanizaki confesses. Not unexpectedly, everyone agrees with him, with the extent of Kunikida nodding several times furiously, his mind still not exactly comprehending the situation. Ranpo laughs at him.

A solid two hours pass by with everything in the agency running smoothly. Cases have been easily solved by Ranpo, like usual, and there isn't any sudden attacks from some criminal organisation that is plotting to destroy Yokohama or something like that.

That peacefulness ends when Chuuya turns up at the agency door, proclaiming that he requests to see Dazai.

Dazai glares at the red headed man hovering above him, additionally being a nuisance and distracting him from completing his paperwork.

"Why aren't you at the Port Mafia?" Dazai grits his teeth, brown eyes shining with an anger in them Atsushi or anybody else in general has never seen him express before.

Chuuya hums and wraps his arms around the man's shoulders affectionately. "Is it wrong to come visit my lover?" he murmurs.

Dazai halts his typing, rolling his eyes. He looks annoyed, but even an idiot can see the faint blush forming on his cheeks. "Not when you're supposed to be at work. Ane-san might stab you."

"She won't." Chuuya insists. "She didn't even apprehend me after I tried out one of the cool suicide methods in the 'Ways to Commit Suicide' manual I stole from your bookshelf, which failed, by the way—"

"You stole something from my house?!"

"It wasn't the first time."

"It wasn't the first time?!" Dazai shrieks. Chuuya merely grins at him. The taller man grunts in defeat, burying his face into his hands.

"I love you, Dazai." the red head says out of the blue and pecks his cheek.

"Fuck off, you thief." Dazai responds harshly, albeit his ears are a tinge of red. "I'm not letting you come into my house ever again."

"I could just break in—"

"Like I said before, I will activate my ability on you, then hurl you into the ocean. Have fun drowning, you piece of shit."

In the background of their squabbling, Kunikida grumbles. "Am I the only one who takes back what I said a few hours ago after having to witness these two flirt?"

"Akutagawa says he sees this every day." Atsushi adds. "Because normally, Dazai-san would be the one to go to the Port Mafia and pester Chuuya-san. Now it's vice-versa because of the mark."

Atsushi's phone dings, the screen lighting up for a second. The weretiger checks the notification, and gulps. "Akutagawa just told me that Ozaki-san said, if Chuuya comes back to the mafia injured because Dazai punched him, I will not hesitate to cut all of you. Because apparently whenever Dazai-san visits the mafia, Chuuya-san always ends up hitting him."

"It's not worth it losing the alliance we have with the Port Mafia over something like this." Kunikida sighs. "We have no choice. Get Chuuya-san out of the agency now."

"Not a problem, Kunikida-kun." Dazai seethes. He pinches Chuuya's cheek, thus cancelling the red head's ability. He proceeds to drag him by the back of his collar and kick him out of the agency, then aggressively shuts the door.

There's a couple whines from Chuuya outside, but Dazai simply ignores it and returns to working at his desk.

Things return to its peacefulness for another two more hours, until Chuuya starts spamming Dazai with endless calls and messages on his phone that Kunikida and Kenji have to physically restrain him from marching over to the mafia and killing Chuuya himself.

"Dazai-san." Akutagawa says. "Why are you here."

It comes out more as a statement than a question.

Dazai folds his arms against his chest, gesturing to the lunchbox in his hands. "Stupid shrimp forgot to take his lunch to work. So to make sure he doesn't fucking starve, I personally brought it here to him."

Akutagawa blinks. He vaguely remembers Chuuya leaving the mafia headquarters several times during lunch, complaining about how a certain mackerel doesn't know how to cook shit and he has to bring his lunch to the agency himself.

"I thought you didn't know how to cook." is what Akutagawa says a moment later.

Dazai clicks his tongue, "Of course I don't. Chuuya made this, came to my house in the crack of dawn to give me my lunchbox, and like the idiot he is forgot his own lunchbox and left it at my home."

Akutagawa nods wordlessly. He doesn't intend nor want to poke any further regarding the fact that Dazai and Chuuya act like they're an old married couple.

"Do you want me or a subordinate to help pass the lunchbox to Chuuya-san—"

"No." Dazai interrupts bluntly and walks pass Akutagawa. "I can do it myself. I know where chibi's office is, so go continue with whatever you were doing and leave me be."

Akutagawa stares at his former mentor's figure walking down the corridors of the Port Mafia's headquarters like he owns the place. Several underlings passing by who recognise him almost choke in surprise.

He shakes his head, taking out his phone to notify Atsushi about the current situation and walks away.

An hour later, nearly everyone in the Port Mafia are gossiping about how former executive and Demon Prodigy Dazai Osamu was seen stepping into Chuuya's office without so much as a knock on the door and throwing a lunchbox at the red head's face.

In fact, everyone is more surprised by the fact that Chuuya, however, did not rage like he usually did when Dazai visited him at the Port Mafia, but proceeded to go on about how cute and caring Dazai was to him, like a housewife.

The underlings passing by the executive's office even say that a loud slap had resonated in the room after Chuuya said that, followed by Dazai screaming death threats at him.

Akutagawa secretly wishes he could have been there to record it all.

A week has passed since Chuuya was first struck by the rogue ability user, yet the marks on their wrists have yet to disappear.

Fortunately, the Port Mafia have managed to hunt down and capture the rogue who caused the mess. He had just been interrogated, and the rogue confesses that there is actually no time limit for the mark to fade.

Unfortunately, said rogue refuses to elaborate any further nor give them any methods to remove the marks. Kouyou pulls out her katana and is about to stab him, but Akutagawa stops her because if she kills the rogue now, then they'll be at even more of a loss since their only lead will be gone.

"He said that anyone who gets hit by his ability switches personalities with the person they love the most. The mark will fade once the ability wears off." Akutagawa explains over the phone call on speaker as the agency members listen intently. "So your detective got that one right."

"Hey, Dazai-san! That means Nakahara-san loves you the most in the world!" Naomi exclaims from across the room. "That's so romantic!"

Dazai ignores her words, although it is obvious to everyone how that little fact makes him happy with the way the edges of his lips curl up slightly.

"You said there isn't a time limit for the mark to fade though? And the rogue isn't saying anything about it?" Atsushi asks Akutagawa. "What do we do now?"

"Kouyou-san is skilled in torture, so she's still in the middle of getting the rogue to spit it out. It's proving as a little difficult to do so since he's a huge masochist." Akutagawa answers. "In the meantime we were hoping you detectives have any idea how to get rid of the mark."

Atsushi pauses, and everyone in the room turn their heads to look at Ranpo.

"Of course I've already solved it! Who do you take me for?" Ranpo snorts, crossing his legs. "But I'm not telling."

"Why not?!" Atsushi and Akutagawa both shout in unison, with the addition of the mafia member saying it through Atsushi's phone.

"That'll take the fun out of this whole situation." Ranpo explains, smirking. "Trust me, everything in the end will be worth to watch."

Yosano shrugs. "If you say so. But if shit really hits the fan, Kouyou and I don't mind amputating Chuuya and Dazai's wrists."

"Deal." The master detective replies, sucking a lollipop between his lips as he twirls a pen in one hand.

Dazai glares at him. "Why are you the one making the deal instead?"

With a shake of his head, Kunikida says, "Let's just pray that the Port Mafia can somehow force it out of that rogue's mouth soon."

There's some noise coming from Akutagawa's side of the line, which somehow sounds like Kouyou yelling something in the distance. The mafia member on the phone goes silent for a while before releasing an exhausted sigh.

"Heads up, detectives. Chuuya-san is on his way." he says.

"Not on my watch." Dazai declares determinedly and rises from his chair. "I'm fucking getting out of here before he arrives—"

The door flings open. Dazai tumbles over to the ground as Chuuya throws himself into the taller man's arms.

"Are you happy to see me, mackerel?" Chuuya asks happily. "I risked everything to come see you. Ane-san might scold me when I get back though."

"I will literally kick you in the balls." Dazai threatens.

Yosano doesn't pay them any attention and resumes writing her report. "Everyone, ignore them." she says. The agency members nod and choose to think that both Chuuya and Dazai aren't there at all, writhing and flirting on the ground.

Chuuya wraps his arms around Dazai's body and proceeds to drag him out the agency door. "I'll bring him back in a few hours!" the red head yells as they exit the room.

"Fuck you!" Dazai screams. The door slams and there's noises of the two arguing outside, but they die down a little later as if Dazai has actually given up and decides to leave the agency building with Chuuya.

"Did you record all that, weretiger?" Akutagawa questions through the phone call after Dazai and Chuuya leave the office.

Atsushi hums. "Of course I did. I'll send the video to you later."

"...Thanks."

Two days later, a rising underground organisation causes problems in Yokohama city. Dazai and Atsushi have been paired up to investigate the organisation and arrest the leader.

To Dazai's dismay, the Port Mafia are coincidentally on the same mission as well.

"Mackerel! What a coincidence!" Chuuya beams. "I didn't expect to see you on a mission."

"Neither did I." Dazai responds in distaste. He looks down at Chuuya and sighs, before bending down to flick his forehead. "Look at your eyebags. Did you even sleep last night, stupid chibi?"

"I don't think you have the right to be the one calling me out on not taking care of myself, mackerel." Chuuya sang. The taller glares at him and smacks the side of his head.

"You're a bother." Dazai comments. He turns to Atsushi, who is still standing behind him awkwardly. "Atsushi-kun, let's continue the mission and ignore these mafia weirdos."

"Again, you have no right to be the one calling us the weirdos—"

"Shut up before I make you." Dazai threatens Chuuya in a sharp tone, brown eyes narrowed sternly. He turns back to Atsushi, who looks even more nervous than before.

"Chuuya-san, we should go too." Akutagawa suggests, also one of the victims besides Atsushi to have witnessed the entire exchange between Dazai and Chuuya.

"Fine," Chuuya huffs. As they turn to part ways Dazai suddenly stiffens and he turns around with wide eyes. "Chuuya—"

The sound of a gunshot firing startles them. The leader of the organisation they are hunting down is standing there, guns in his hands and body covered in blood.

Atsushi anxiously looks at Chuuya, who the leader had targeted to shoot just now. Chuuya's body was glowing red, an indication he had activated his ability. The bullet is floating mid air right in front of him, only an inch away from getting in contact with his body.

"You're a bit of a cocky bastard, aren't you?" Chuuya grins. The bullet flies backwards and right towards the leader, who is obviously unaware of the supernatural abilities they possess.

The leader is physically fast, as he had managed to move out of the way for the bullet to only graze him slightly. Rashoumon lunges forward and wraps the leader tightly in its black tendrils, causing him to choke.

"That was honestly a lot more tame than I thought." Akutagawa comments. "I expected more of your organisation and its leader, unfortunately."

Rashoumon pierces through the leader's body and instantly kills him. The corpse drops to the ground with a thud, his blood pooling around on the floor.

"Great, he's dead." Dazai grumbles in annoyance. "We were only instructed to capture him and get him arrested."

"That's not the Port Mafia way though, isn't it, mackerel?" Chuuya mocks. "You should know, after all."

Dazai lets out an exasperated tsk. "Since what's done is done, Atsushi-kun, let's go back to the agency and inform them the Port Mafia have kindly decided to finish the job for us—"

"Dazai-san, wait—"

A knife flying in the air and targeted at him suddenly came into view. Dazai looks as if he knew it was coming, as he manages to move away a millisecond from when it was thrown and successfully avoiding the attack.

A group of criminals wearing black masks and each wielding weapons surround the four of them. Chuuya's grin steadily grows wider as they approach closer, and even Dazai has the same expression on his face.

"Come to avenge your leader, eh?" Dazai smirks as he glances at the infuriated expressions on the members' faces. Akutagawa and Atsushi quickly activate their respective abilities and start attacking.

One of the organisation's members Atsushi just attacked drops his shotgun on the floor, which Dazai bends forward and picks up. He takes his time examining the bloodied weapon while one of the members attempt to creep up from behind him and attack while he's distracted.

Dazai instantly aims the gun and pulls the trigger multiple times without so much as looking up. Only after he hears the assassin's body fall on the ground does he look up and smile darkly.

Meanwhile, Chuuya activates his ability and kills most of the members with only a scratch or two on his body. He has a wild grin on his face as he does so, like how he does every time he fights.

Atsushi, who witnesses the scene, couldn't help but smile. "Seems like the way you fight hasn't changed, Dazai-san, Chuuya-san!"

Chuuya laughs lightly at Atsushi's words as he punches someone in the jaw.

Dazai emits a sound resembling a 'tch' before shooting someone in the face.

Atsushi is admittedly still not used to their swapped personalities. He doesn't get to think much of it any longer as he focuses on bashing this one guy's head into the nearest brick wall.

Rashoumon disappears back into Akutagawa's coat once the very last enemy is dead. "That was thrilling." he comments.

Chuuya cracks his knuckles. He glances over at Dazai, yelling, "I'm going to your house after this, Dazai!"

"What?!" Dazai replies angrily. His eyes tell everyone that he is in fact exhausted and pent up. "No, thank you. Even if you do, I will lock you outside."

"You're forgetting I can pick locks and break in through the windows."

"I'll call the police, god damn it!"

"The cops won't do shit, mackerel. If they really do turn up after you tell them that a Port Mafia executive showed up at your house, I'll just kill them."

"After this, I am going to tighten the security in my house." Dazai states. "Or whatever. I don't fucking care anymore. I'll either waste my money to do that or just come sleep at your house."

"Really?" Chuuya gapes, genuinely looking a tad surprised at the taller male's statement.

"Yes. Your house is nicer." Dazai explains, brushing the dust off his beige trenchcoat. "And you have a bath tub."

"You can come sleep at mine starting tonight." Chuuya offers. "We can do all sorts of stuff in the bedroom too!"

"Nobody is doing whatever the fuck it is you want to do in your shitty ass bedroom!" Dazai retorts, even though his face is gradually turning red.

"It's weird seeing Chuuya-san being the one making perverted comments and Dazai-san being the one flustered." Akutagawa whispers. Atsushi nods, staring at the two older males bickering in front of them awkwardly.

"I'm taking you to my house now. Atsushi, pass the message to the detectives and let them know that Dazai left with me."

"No, I'm fucking leaving by myself!"

As Chuuya tightens his hold around Dazai's waist harder, the taller male accidentally loses balance and falls backwards, pulling Chuuya down with him.

Then their lips land on each other's.

Dazai looks surprised. Chuuya looks satisfied and amused.

Atsushi and Akutagawa both greatly desire to bury themselves alive.

When they finally pull away from each other, Chuuya plants his hands between Dazai's head and pushes himself up with his arms, looking very pleased.

"Stupid slug, fucking get off me now." Dazai demands.

"Your lips are so soft, mackerel—" Chuuya says teasingly and attempts to stand up, but as soon as he is on his feet he suddenly falls back on the ground and passes out.

"What the—" Dazai starts as Atsushi and Akutagawa hurry to the blue eyed man's aid. But as the taller male gets up to move closer to Chuuya his head begins to spin and he loses consciousness as well, face planting onto the floor.

The last thing Dazai sees before fainting is Akutagawa trying to slap Chuuya back into consciousness, which Atsushi yells at him for doing so.

Dazai awakens to him laying in a hospital bed at the Armed Detective Agency.

He sits up, propping his back against a pillow and looks around. The Port Mafia and Armed Detective Agency members are all present, and Chuuya is sitting in the bed beside his.

"You're finally awake!" Ranpo beams at him once he notices he's conscious again. "Check your wrist!"

Dazai does as he's told, lowering his head and tugs at the bandages on his wrist. The purple heart shaped mark is officially gone, having disappeared from his skin without a single trace left.

"It's gone, isn't it? So is Chuuya's mark." Yosano asks.

The bandage covered man merely nods.

"Took you long enough to wake up, shitty Dazai." Chuuya's irritated voice snaps him out of his daze. Dazai turns and instinctively grins at him, "You were worried about me, Chuuya?" he teases.

Chuuya's eyes flash a look of annoyance. "Fuck no. You could die right now and I wouldn't bat an eyelash."

"Whatever you say, chibi." Dazai hums.

Everyone in the room stares at them back and forth for a few seconds before simultaneously sighing in relief. Kouyou even rushes forward to embrace Chuuya, rambling on to him regarding how he is not allowed to attempt commiting suicide ever again.

"Welcome back, Dazai-san." Atsushi greets. The grey haired boy's face is pale. He and Akutagawa have certainly gone through a lot during this entire incident of him and Chuuya swapping personalities.

Dazai smiles, brown eyes swimming with a familiar look of mischief in them. "It feels great to be able to tease chibi again! He even invited me to his house and engage in bedroom activities with him during the mission just now!"

Akutagawa coughs loudly. Chuuya splutters, whipping his head so quickly to look at Dazai he nearly breaks his neck. "Shut up, bastard! I only said that because I had your personality at the time, so technically it was you who was acting as the pervert!"

"Did I mention anything perverted, Chuuya? All I said was bedroom activities. Is your mind so tainted that it automatically thinks of dirty stuff whenever I mention anything about the bedroom? So conclusion is, you're the real pervert."

Kouyou is the one who holds Chuuya back from lunging at Dazai and pulverising his skull. She much preferred doing this every day than constantly making sure Chuuya doesn't recklessly run off somewhere to attempt suicide, honestly.

Dazai ignores Chuuya and turns to Ranpo. "So, how'd the mark disappear?"

"A kiss." Ranpo responds as he tries to refrain himself from bursting into a fit of laughter.

"A kiss?" Chuuya and Dazai say in unison with equally puzzled expressions on their faces.

"Yeah, a kiss. You two kissed during the mission just now, didn't you?" the detective smirks, pointing an accusing finger at the two of them. "The rogue confessed to the mafia a while ago after saying he was done having fun. A kiss was all it took to make the ability wear off and the mark to disappear. How cliché."

"If you two had simply touched each other's lips a whole week earlier, the Port Mafia didn't need to go through all the trouble to make sure Chuuya didn't try to jump off a building every 3 hours." Kouyou adds sternly.

Chuuya shudders under Kouyou's heavy and judgemental gaze. "It was Dazai's fucking fault."

"You're acting like such a child, chibi. Although your size can seriously mistake you as one." Dazai comments, the mockery and tease obvious in his cheeky tone.

This time, Kouyou doesn't stop Chuuya from beating up the taller man. Neither does anyone else in the room dare to get involved.

In the midst of Chuuya's angry yelling and Dazai's laughing, Kunikida slumps and rubs the bridge of his nose. "Does this mean that the stupid and lazy Dazai from before a week ago will come back again tomorrow?"

Atsushi sighs, nodding sadly and pats Kunikida's shoulder to comfort him as the bespectacled man tries to prepare himself for the mental breakdown and endless migraine he'll have again starting tomorrow morning.
