Work Text:
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” is what Taehyung said staring at his best friend who had his eyes glued to the phone screen, a devilish grin on his face.
Jimin rolled his eyes and sighed, leaving the phone on the bed and looking at Taehyung who was still eyeing him, a serious expression on his face. It was just a prank, why was he being so moody about it?
“You know how much he worked to buy this camera and how careful his is with his belongings,” he continued before Jimin could say anything.
“What do you think he’s gonna do?” Jimin challenged, uncrossing his legs and straightening his back. He raised an eyebrow at Taehyung and watched him sigh and shrug.
“I think you’re looking for an unnecessary fight. You didn’t even ask him to borrow the camera and now you’re just gonna come out and say you secretly took it and broke it?”
Jimin rested his face on one of his hands and looked at his boyfriend’s camera that sat right beside him. It was a really expensive camera, he still remembers how Jeongguk talked about buying it for the longest time. This was the camera that all youtubers wanted and since he got it, he treated it so preciously. And all Jimin could think was that the camera was there, intact, not a single crack, he just wanted to see his boyfriend’s reaction.
“I know you’re thinking it’s just a silly joke,” Taehyung said, his voice invading Jimin’s thoughts.
“Get out of my head,” he complained, making Tae smile.
“We’re not soulmates by chance, my dear,” he shrugged. “Well, as much as I want to stay and see the disastrous result of your little joke, I need to go. Uni is making me question my entire existence.”
Jimin looked at him with a pout. “You’re not even going to help me hide the camera before he gets here?”
“I won’t be your partner in this particular crime,” Taehyung shook his head. “Call me when he breaks up with you and you need help signing up to dating apps.”
Jimin quickly stood up from the bed and walked to his best friend, a worried look on his face.
“You really think he’ll break up with me?” he asked, eyebrows pinched together and a frown on his lips, for the first time really considering a bad outcome to the prank.
Taehyung rolled his eyes and playfully punched his arm.
“Of course not, Min! It’s Jeongguk we’re talking about. That boy would do anything for you. When we’re hanging out and you’re not there I can see him controlling his own mouth not to talk about you every 2 minutes. It’s sickening,” he made a disgusting face and Jimin laughed.
“Don’t worry, I’m sure Jin hyung soon will be the one not shutting his mouth about you,” he answered, knowing his best friend was very much in love with their oldest hyung.
Taehyung didn’t answer, but inside he wished Jimin was right.
The two of them said their goodbyes and in a few minutes Jimin was alone in the small apartment he and Jeongguk had been sharing for the past two months. More often than not he caught himself wondering if they had rushed into everything when they decided to move in together. Having been together for a little under a year, could this be considered too soon? But then again every time he’d come home from the dance studio, he was greeted by Jeongguk with his galaxy eyes and bunny smile and that was enough to convince himself that it was the best decision of his life. He still found himself falling a little bit more in love with the younger every single day.
He walked back to the bed where the camera still rested and took it, eyeing it closely. He remembers looking it up online when he had the idea of giving it to Jeongguk as a birthday present but he quickly realized the object was way out of his league. His salary as a dance teacher was definitely not enough for him to be able to afford it.
Jimin looked around the bedroom searching for a place where he could hide the camera but was also a good angle to film the prank he was about to pull on his boyfriend.
A few days before he had seen a famous youtuber pull a prank on her boyfriend where she said she broke his video game. The boyfriend was, of course, a gamer and got pretty angry, but in the end it was a really funny prank. It’s not like Jeongguk was going to really break up with Jimin, right? Jimin liked to think that he knew his boyfriend enough to know he might get a bit upset at first but then they’d both laugh at it and in the end it would be a funny video for him to post on his channel.
Jeongguk’s Youtube channel was getting a lot of recognition lately. He was such a natural in front of the camera, it was like he was born to do this. Besides he was so good at editing the videos, no one could say he wasn’t a pro, even if he hadn’t been around for a long time. It was mostly about games since it was Jeongguk’s passion, but he’d also do some daily vlogs and traveling diaries from time to time. His Overwatch videos were over 1 million views.
“Okay, Park Jimin, let’s get this show moving,” he whispered to himself.
Soon Jeongguk would be home and he needed to leave everything in place. Once again he looked around the room and decided to hide the camera on a shelf behind a frame with a photo of him and Jeongguk on their first trip together. Tokyo would always be a special place for the two of them. From that angle the camera would be able to film the bedroom perfectly. After arranging everything, he sat on the bed, satisfied with his work. The camera was almost impossible to spot unless you were really looking for it.
Jimin reached for the phone in his pocket and noticed there was a message from Jeongguk saying he’d be home in ten and since it was sent seven minutes before, it meant he’d be home really soon. Jimin quickly got the eye drop sitting next to the bed and wet his eyes, if he wanted the prank to work, it needed to be done like a pro. Jeongguk had to believe he was truly sad and incredibly guilty about breaking his camera, so the tears were very much necessary to complete his acting. He could only hope he was a good enough of an actor.
Less than a minute later Jimin heard the door being unlocked. He took a deep breath and rubbed both of his eyes, pouting as much as he could.
Show time!
“Baby?” Jeongguk called from the living room.
Jimin mumbled a few words just loud enough for his boyfriend to hear.
“I brought dinner,” he announced.
Jimin answered with a simple okay, knowing it would be enough to call Jeongguk’s attention. It’s not the kind of answer he would normally offer, especially after the younger mentioned dinner.
It only took a few seconds for Jeongguk to enter their bedroom, a worrisome look on his face as he removed the leather jacket he was wearing, leaving it on top of a chair close to the bed.
Jimin stood up quickly and walked by Jeongguk to enter the bathroom, his hand half hiding his face and snuffling a little. Inside the bathroom he left the door ajar and stared at his face in mirror only to hear Jeongguk’s soft knocks a few seconds later.
“Jimin-ssi, are you okay?”
Crap, Jimin thought, that would be so much harder than he imagined.
Jeongguk’s voice sounded so concerned that now he wanted to cry for real. Whose idea was it to pull this prank? Oh, right… his!
Jimin took a deep breath before opening the door and looking at his boyfriend only for a brief second before going back to the bedroom and sitting on the edge of their bed. Jeongguk didn’t move at first, just stared at him a little taken aback, but then Jimin looked at him and started to cry and it was enough for Jeongguk to be right in front of him within a second.
Although he tried to hide his face behind his small hands, Jeongguk quickly pulled them away holding his fists and crouching down to be on eye level with the smaller one.
“Jeongguk-ah,” Jimin cried out. “Please don’t be mad at me,” he begged.
He heard Jeongguk’s deep sigh and felt his hands holding his face, their eyes finally meeting.
“Min, tell me what happened, please,” he asked with a soothing voice.
Jimin could feel his own heart breaking at that, he wanted his prank to succeed, but it was so hard with Jeongguk being so close and staring at him adoringly, he was being so careful and didn’t even know what happened yet. When planning all of this, he probably forgot to take into consideration how loving and caring Jeongguk was. How could he ever hurt his kkyu even if it was just for a few minutes?
“I did something really bad,” he confessed, his voice no louder than a whisper but with Jeongguk being so close it was enough for him hear it. “Like really bad. I’m so, so sorry,” he added.
“Come here,” the younger asked, pulling Jimin with him.
He felt Jeongguk’s arms around him so comforting and soft and hid his face on the other’s neck, sobbing a little more. Jeongguk kissed his hair a few times and just let him cry, not bothering that Jimin hadn’t explained yet what actually happened. He rocket them both side to side slowly and Jimin felt like his heart was about to burst. Jeongguk was giving him time to calm down before he could talk about what he had done. All of that made Jimin wonder if he really deserved such an amazing person by his side.
They stayed like that a while longer until Jimin pulled away and looked at Jeongguk. Most of the tears staining his face were actually real, so he hoped his acting was being convincing enough.
Before he could say anything, Jeongguk pecked his pouty lips and smiled softly at him.
“I took your new camera without telling you,” Jimin finally revealed.
There was only a half a second of hesitation that didn’t go unnoticed before Jeongguk smiled camly. He raised his eyebrows and held Jimin’s hand, waiting for him to continue.
“I swear it wasn’t on purpose, I was being so careful with it. I promise I was, Jeonggukie!” Jimin tried to hide his face again, but the younger quickly grabbed his fists and wrapped Jimin’s arms around his waist before holding his face and making Jimin stare right into his eyes.
“What happened? Did you break it? Is that it?” He asked.
Jimin nodded and pouted, a single tear running down his cheek that Jeongguk was quick to wipe it away as he kissed the smaller’s nose.
“It’s okay, Minie. We can get it fixed, right?” He offered.
Jimin shook his head and looked at the floor. He definitely didn’t expect Jeongguk to be this understanding. Of course it never crossed his mind that he’d be aggressive or actually be anything apart from a little upset, but this? Thank goodness he had a lot of excuses prepared to make it seem like the camera was long gone.
“No, Ggukie. As soon as it happened I took it to that place you always take your equipment when something breaks and the guy said it was beyond repair, I broke it completely.”
Jeongguk’s eyebrows were pinched together while he stared at Jimin.
“Beyond repair? What did you do with it, Minie? Throw it out the window?” He joked, genuinely laughing.
Jimin whined and laid his forehead on the younger’s chest. Jeongguk sighed and kissed his temple softly. Nothing, not even a frown or a bit of disappointment flashed in Jeongguk’s eyes and that was enough to make Jimin start crying again, for real this time and not because his prank had gone wrong, but because he realized that Jeongguk was everything he always wished to find in a partner. He was caring, kind and understanding always minded Jimin’s feelings before his own and his love was so pure just like his heart. Once again he caught himself falling for his boyfriend. The boy whose eyes were brighter than the northern lights and who looked at him like he was the only star in his night sky. Jimin had been falling for him every day for over a year now he hoped he could keep doing it forever.
“Jimin-ssi, please stop crying. It’s just a camera, you know? It doesn’t really matter,” Jeongguk said, hugging him tightly.
“Of course it does! I know it’s not just a camera to you, Jeonggukie,” Jimin shook his head. “It took you so long to finally buy it and it was so expensive. I’m so sorry. Please forgive me,” he begged.
“Of course I forgive you, Min,” Jeongguk kissed Jimin’s wet cheek.
“Why are you reacting like this?” Jimin sobbed. “I thought it was important to you,” he whispered still surprised at his boyfriend’s reaction.
“Jimin-ssi, look at you. Do you really think I’m going to care about a camera when my favorite person in the whole world is bawling right in front of me, begging me to forgive him? I can buy another camera in a few months, but seeing you like this is breaking my heart. You’re the only thing I care about right now. Fuck that stupid camera.”
Jimin looked at Jeongguk and saw nothing but adoration in his dark orbs. Jeongguk could make his chest feel so tight, but also his heart overflow with love. He couldn’t find the words his mind was blank, just full of Jeongguk. His smile, his eyes, his longish hair, his beautiful hands and gorgeous body... It was just Jeongguk everywhere. He felt the younger kiss on his cheek again and realized he was kissing his tears away brushing his lips so softly that Jimin just closed his eyes and smiled.
“Sit here with me,” Jeongguk asked taking him to the bed by the hand and making him sit on his lap.
“I can buy a new ca-”
“Shh,” Jeongguk interrupted. “Don’t worry about it now, okay?” He asked, a weepy tone to his voice.
Jimin remembered the time when he and Taehyung had a huge fight and he cried so hard he almost couldn’t breathe. Jeongguk stayed by his side the whole time, soothing him with his calming voice and trying his best to hide the fact that he was also crying. Would it be possible that Jimin was the one hurting but Jeongguk also felt the pain?
“Are you really not at all upset? Not even a little bit?” He asked, pouty lips and all.
“This is the cutest pout in the world, did you know that?” Jeongguk joked, pecking Jimin on the lips.
Jimin laid his head on the younger’s shoulder and caressed his hair.
“Jeonggukie,” Jimin whined like a child who didn’t like to be told no. Jeongguk chuckled. “You promise?” He offered his pinky and Jeongguk quickly intertwined with his own.
“I promise that no camera in the world is more important than my baby,” he said making Jimin giggle.
“You are the baby, okay?”
Jeongguk laughed. “I’m not the one crying and pouting, y’know?” He joked.
“Shut up, you love my pout,” Jimin answered.
“I do love your pout,” Jeongguk kissed his lips. “And I love your cheeks, and your nose, and your eyes,” he kissed every place as he talked about them, Jimin giggling softly at his boyfriend’s silliness. “You know what else I love?” The younger asked with a muffled voice since his lips were attached to Jimin’s neck.
“Well, you’re just trying to distract me, but I’ll play along. What else do you love, Jeongguk-ssi?” Jimin pulled on his boyfriend’s hair a little so he could look into his eyes and smiled.
“I love your kisses, your touches,” Jeongguk dragged his hand slowly, from Jimin’s thighs to under his shirt. “And your body.”
Jimin didn’t answer instead he pulled Jeongguk’s face to his and kissed him deeply, their tongues exploring each other’s mouth like it was the first time. He changed position, now straddling Jeongguk’s lap and pressing down on him only to hear the younger’s little moan that he liked so much. The kiss was hungry, their mouths pressing against each other’s, Jimin sucking his boyfriend’s tongue and biting his thin lip almost as if that was his way of saying sorry for the prank.
Rolling his hips slowly Jimin pressed their crotches together and the room was filled with moans and wet kissing sounds. It definitely hadn’t crossed the older’s mind that this would be how his prank would end but with him and Jeongguk that was how most things ended. They were touchy and loud and their bodies seemed to attract like magnets.
Jeongguk moved his hands slowly to Jimin’s ass, grabbing the flash tightly and making Jimin sigh into the kiss. Jimin knew the younger loved grinding, he still remembers when he almost dry humped Jeongguk to an orgasm and he talked about it for a whole month.
Detaching his lips from Jeongguk’s, Jimin moved them slowly ghosting over Jeongguk’s skin until he got to his ear.
“My Jeonggukie’s so hot always making me so horny,” he cooed.
Jeongguk laughed before dragging his lips down Jimin’s chin to his throat and then his collar bone where he made sure to suck the skin and leave a little mark. The younger always knew his sensitive spots and how to touch him, his big hands always grabbing his skin with just enough strength to make Jimin ask for more.
It wasn’t until Jimin felt his boyfriend’s hand slowly lifting his shirt that he giggled and held on Jeongguk’s wrists to stop him. The younger looked at him, puzzled.
“Unless you’re interested in making a sex tape, I think we should stop here, Gguk,” he whispered.
“Well, now that you mentioned-”
“Ggukie, no,” Jimin laughed. “I’m serious, we’re being filmed right now.”
Jeongguk didn’t answer, just stared at him, big doe eyes confused and a little pout on his lips, an unasked question lingering between them. Jimin kissed him very softly. It was time to tell Jeongguk that everything was a prank and his heart was beating so fast in anticipation of the younger’s reaction.
“Come here,” he asked, still holding his boyfriends wrist in his small hands.
They both stood in the middle of the bedroom and Jimin hugged Jeongguk’s tiny waist from behind, barely being able to see anything in front of them because of his large shoulders. He kissed one of Jeongguk’s shoulder blades and then rested his chin there.
“Look at that shelf with our Tokyo picture,” he instructed.
He watched Jeongguk’s head move a little and knew the younger was narrowing his eyes to see better, although they weren’t too far from the place where the camera rested.
“Is that-” Jeongguk walked to the shelf and Jimin followed, still clinging to his waist.
Grabbing the camera from behind the photo frame, Jeongguk noticed that it was still filming and pressed stop, then looked through the videos and photos as if to make sure it really was his camera. He was quiet for a few seconds, which made Jimin feel nervous, his hands starting to sweat and the tension on his shoulders growing slowly.
Jeongguk finally turned around and looked at Jimin. There was an unreadable expression on his face that made Jimin open his mouth, but no words came out of it.
“Was it all just a lie?” The younger questioned.
Jimin nodded. “More like a prank.”
He tried keeping an amused tone to his voice, but he still couldn’t quite comprehend what was going on in Jeongguk’s mind. The younger sighed, turning off the camera and scratching his face. When he shook his head, Jimin felt like a punch to his stomach.
“This was a very mean prank. I was actually worried about you, you know?” He frowned.
Jimin felt his boyfriend tugging his arm and stopped hugging him, Jeongguk immediately walking away, the bathroom door closing with a loud noise and startling him. Fuck, fuck, fuck, was all he could think.
“Why didn’t I listen to Taehyung?” He whispered to himself.
Taking a deep breath, he walked to the bathroom door, wondering if that was how Jeongguk felt earlier, when he was the one inside the room and the younger had no idea what was going through his mind.
“Jeonggukie, I’m so sorry,” he begged. “It was a stupid idea. I just wanted to give you some funny content to put on your channel.”
“This wasn’t funny, Jimin,” he answered immediately.
Jimin didn’t mind being called by his name, except he knew the only times Jeongguk dismissed the use of honorifics was when they were being very intimate or when he was extremely upset. Unfortunately they were not in bed this time.
“I’m so sorry, Gguk,” he tried again.
A few moments of silent went by before he heard the door opening, he didn’t look at his boyfriend immediately, fearing he would see the hurt in Jeongguk’s eyes, but then he heard a click and a giggle.
“This really is the cutest pout in the world,” Jeongguk gushed.
Jimin looked at him to find the camera to his face and the biggest smile playing on his lips.
“Jeongguk-ah,” he chuckled. “How dare you try to pull a prank on me while I’m pranking you?”
The younger’s laughter filled the room and he couldn’t help but do the same. Of course he was right, Jeongguk would never overreact because of a silly prank. He should definitely trust his instincts more.
“My Min can be so gullible sometimes,” Jeongguk mocked, his voice filled with amusement. “I loved your prank, you should really go for that acting career.”
Jimin giggled, his body being pressed against the wall by Jeongguk while the younger looked down at him with the cutest bunny smile. He hugged him by the neck and stood on tiptoes to peck his lips quickly.
“It wasn’t easy, you know?” he remarked and Jeongguk furrowed his brows. “Jeonggukie, you’re the kindest, most caring person I ever met. You can’t imagine how hard it was for me to keep pretending I was crying over guilt of breaking your camera while all you cared about was my well-being.”
Jeongguk blushed a little at Jimin’s words, he always did when someone complimented him and it was adorable. Jimin pulled him into another kiss and neither of them deepened it, just their lips pressed together for a few seconds.
“Can we go eat now? I’m really hungry,” Jimin grunted when he felt his stomach start to make noises.
“I thought you were horny,” Jeongguk teased.
Jimin rolled his eyes and giggled.
“And whose fault is that?”
Jeongguk quickly picked him up and put him over his shoulder, Jimin’s laughter echoing through the house. Hanging upside down, Jimin just let his boyfriend carry him like a feather to the kitchen where he finally settled him down on the counter. He felt so relieved that his prank went well and didn’t hurt Jeongguk’s feelings he couldn’t wipe the smile off his face. When Jeongguk tapped his knee he swiftly pulled them apart so the younger could settle between them.
“I brought jajangmyeon,” Jeongguk announced, holding Jimin by the waist.
Jimin nodded pushing his boyfriend’s hair back with both hands. Jeongguk seemed to really like having longer hair and he couldn’t complain, the younger looked gorgeous with any hairstyle he tried so far but being able to pull his hair like this in bed… Damn, maybe he was still horny.
“What are you thinking about?” Jeongguk questioned and he immediately felt himself blush a little.
“Hm, just kind of wondering what I should eat first,” he shrugged.
“Oh,” Jeongguk seemed surprised. “There’s something else?”
“Well yeah,” He breathed, his hands slowly lowering Jeongguk’s back and his lips finding his boyfriend’s ear. “Lucky for me there’s jajangmyeon and your ass.”
Jeongguk tilted his head as soon as he felt Jimin’s lips on his neck.
“So you are still horny,” he grinned.
Jimin hummed against his throat and then looked up at him with innocent eyes.
“Which one do you think I should eat first, Jeonggukie?”
The younger pretended to think about it for a few seconds.
“Speaking as a completely objective third party observer with absolutely no personal interest in the matter-”
Jimin laughed, not letting him finish before getting down from the counter and pulling his boyfriend back to the bedroom. On the way to bed he grabbed the camera and gave it to Jeongguk.
“Press play!”
They could definitely eat the jajangmyeon later.
