"We're adopting him aren't we..." (ABANDONED)

Summary:

Izuku didn't expect the quirk to do this, and he didn't expect that he would get a family because of it.

An unexpected quirk allowed Shota the chance to adopt the vigilante Wisp, just like he had been trying to do for years.

Or: Due to a de-aging quirk Izuku is finally to feel safe and is given a chance for a new start.

Chapter Text

Izuku and Eraserhead sat on the edge of a 4 floor building after finishing up with a gang fight. Both were heaving, even though the 13 year old vigilante was having a harder time breathing then the pro. Now that he thought of it he felt kind of dizzy too. “I-don’t feeeel so    goodd” Izuku’s speech slurred.

The last thing he heard before falling over and passing out was Eraser’s panicked voice, “...kid...KID… don’t...on me”

Shota  took a seat next to Wisp on the roof. The fight hadn’t been that bad but it definitely took his breath away. Wisp looked like he was having the same problems. The older pro was worried for the vigilante though. He was hit by an unknown quirk during the fight and  Shota  didn’t know what would happen.

Wisp’s slurred speech snapped  Shota  out of his thoughts, “I-don’t feeeel so    goodd”

“Fuck! Kid,” the hooded vigilante started to lean toward the side,”KID,”  Shota  cried out leaping forward to catch the kid. “Don’t fall asleep on me! Stay awake!” But it was already too late. Wisp was already unconscious. The black clad hero laid the boy’s body down on the roof and stood up to make some phone calls.

The first person that he called was Hizashi. The loud blonde picked up on the 3rd ring and  Shota  started to talk right away, “So you know that vigilante case I’m on?”

Hizashi laughed at the question. “The one you don't stop talking about because he’s just a snarky kid? I think I know which one you're talking about.”

Not even  Shota  could stop the eyeroll at that comment. “Well, um, he got hit by a mystery quirk and passed out. I don’t know how long he’s going to be out or even if that’s the full extent of the quirk but there is no way I’m leaving him here alone or taking him to the police. So…”

“Yes he can stay at our place for a bit.”  Shota  sighed in relief at his husband's answer.

“Thank you Hizashi. If he doesn’t wake up in the next 30 minutes I’ll call again. I have two other calls to make. See you soon.”

The man on the other side of the phone’s reaction was a small laugh and a quick, “I love you too.”

Shota  ended the call and called the detective settling with a simple white lie that Naomasa couldn’t read over the phone. “Hey Detective. Wisp’s injured and I’m going to take him to my house to heal. We’ll talk about getting him off the streets at a later time.”

Before the detective could protest  Shota  spoke again, “If we want to get anywhere with this case we need to trust him. And taking advantage of an injury will not make him trust us.”

After a few minutes of debating back and forth, Detective Naomasa decided that the best option was to wait and gain his trust more.

Shota  quickly finished making the rest of the calls including one to Nezu to excuse himself from work the next day. Then Wisp started to wake up.

But instead of the Wisp that  Shota  was used to there was a young green haired, green eyed child. At least  Shota  now knew what the quirk the kid vigilante had gotten hit by.

The green boy’s eyes filled up with tears threatening to fall. “Di-did Daddy leave me here?” The broken tone that the question was asked in started the crack down  Shota ’s heart.

“Why would you think that?”  Shota  asked him back, hoping that the answer wouldn’t be too bad.

“Well, um,” the little boy stumbled on his words, “Daddy doesn’t like when Mommy hits me and yesterday Daddy said that he should just leave me somewhere so I wouldn’t bother them anymore.”

Shota’s hopes that this story wouldn’t be too bad fell in an instant as the boy hesitantly answered his question.

“Before I forget, what’s your name?” The pro hero felt a little bad about asking his name but he couldn’t really call the young boy Wisp.

“Oh right! My name’s Izuku Midoriya but please call me Izuku.” The green haired boy answered a bit more confidently this time. “I’m 7 years old!”

Shota ’s heart cracked again for the boy, he seemed so mature and no one that young should have to worry about their parents hitting them or abandoning them.

“I can take care of you for a while if you want.” The normally gruff tone sounded softer at the offer.

The now proclaimed ‘green bean’ just nodded and tried to stand up but instead tripped over the oversized vigilante uniform.

The older of the two smiled at the tiny version of his kid , the vigilante he had gotten closer to over the years before stopping. “Wait kid… why are you so willing to come with me?” With the way things were going  Shota  wouldn’t be surprised if no one taught him or the little boy was just so despite to trust someone. What he was not expecting was the boy’s answer,

“That’s easy. You’re the hero Eraserhead and you’re a good hero so I know you won’t hurt me.” Honestly  Shota  really didn’t know if he was more shocked that the 7 year old knew him or that he thought that  Shota  was a good hero and trusted him.

“Ok, I guess we’ll go now. Do you want my husband to drive us there?” With a nod from the bush child  Shota  pulled out his phone and once again called Hizashi. “Hi.”

“So he woke up?”
