burning gaze of the coldest ice

Summary:

The biggest mistake ever made was to underestimate Todoroki Shouto. It was a shame that people turned a blind eye and didn’t realize that he was worse than a calamity when driven over the edge. Shouto was the hero wielding two elements with endless potential. And yet people saw him only as a pretty and cool hero.

aka feral Shouto fic

Notes:

I love feral Izuku. Let's be honest, who doesn't but how about feral Shouto? Yeah. Hot. So here we are with a short drabble. We need more fics with feral Shouto.

I hope you will enjoy it ♥

Elo was a wonderful beta and helped me with this drabble.

Work Text:

The villains weren’t supposed to help each other. It was an unfit behaviour for such a wild bunch of individuals. However, there was one thing they did with their greater good in mind: it was an exchange of information.

There was some crucial stuff about heroes that everyone had to know. It didn’t matter if brothers in crime took them seriously or not. Some valuable data needed to be passed down. There were some sayings that everyone should remember by heart.

The group of criminals who wanted to sow terror in Shinjuku experienced firsthand that it was necessary to believe in rumors whispered in the shadiest corners of the city.

It’s not without a reason that villains should fear the most wounded heroes. The ones able to sacrifice everything were the scariest. Feral beings driving high on adrenaline to save the ones who mattered most were the ones from whom you should run away the fastest.

It was a logical assumption to be scared of Deku or Ground Zero, the embodiment of rage and fury hidden behind the catchy title of Wonder Duo. Although, not taking seriously how scary Todoroki Shouto could be lead villains to their doom.

No one would come out unscarred after hurting Shouto’s lover.

There was no need to flex his quirk daily, so Shouto or hero Entropy as you would, kept it casual. It made the villains think that he was harmless, that he wasn’t the walking powerhouse who could put the greatest heroes to shame. It was the biggest mistake ever made. It was a shame that people turned a blind eye and didn’t realize that he was worse than a calamity when driven over the edge. Todoroki Shouto was the hero wielding two elements with endless potential. And yet people saw him only as a pretty and cool hero.

Shouto arrived late on the crime scene. But it was never too late to bring justice.

Hero Deku thought well but he was still a human facing bunch of criminals using dirty tricks. If Shouto had been a few seconds late, the joy of his life would have been crushed under the weight of the building he was holding so people could escape before it collapsed.

Midoriya Izuku had broken too many bones to count trying to protect civilians for Shouto to play it casually, to keep his cool demeanor, and to limit the output of his quirk.

Shouto iced the new foundations for the building Izuku was holding. His lover sent him a week smile when he got a moment to relax. The last remnants of strength was quickly leaving Izuku as he swayed on his legs. Shouto quickly glided to catch him in his arms, to reassure him.

It was too much. No one should harm Izuku and run away unscratched. It wasn’t a place or situation to play it cool and be mindful of the surroundings.

The weak,” I’m sorry, Shou,” he received from bloodied Izuku was the final straw.

Ground Zero’s rage was like a breeze of fresh air compared to Shouto’s fury. Deku’s feralness was like a kitty’s scratches in the face of Entropy’s wrath.

Shouto’s blood lit up and froze at the same time.

No one who dared to hurt his Izuku was meant to survive. Shouto wouldn’t kill. Death would be a mercy and he wasn’t merciful toward villains who dared to hurt his lover.

Just one stomp of his foot felt like the trumpets proclaiming the apocalypse.

Fire and ice covered the streets and the final judgment began.

Later that day no one dared to reprimand hero Entropy for the destruction, for the unconscious bodies of criminals who were barely alive. No one wanted to get close enough to feel that burning gaze of the coldest ice.
