Work Text:
“I never took you as the cuddly type, Kunikida-kun.”
The brunet man grinned, his head tucked underneath Kunikida’s chin, both resting on one of the couches in the Agency. Kunikida sighed, running his fingers through Dazai’s hair.
“Especially at the Agency. I thought you’d forbid this.”
“It’s been a long day,” Kunikida said simply, which was correct. They’d had a long mission that had lasted most of the day, and they were tired, to say the least. But Dazai being Dazai always had to tease in some ways.
“But, still. Even before we got together, I never took you as the cuddly type,” Dazai said, humming softly and tracing small shapes onto Kunikida’s chest. The taller didn’t mind, rather leaned into the touch.
“I stick to my ideals. If those ideals include being allowed to cuddle my fiance during work hours, then so be it.” Dazai snorted at that. “Besides, nobody is here. If there were other people around, I wouldn’t.”
“Good, then,” Dazai murmured, closing his eyes, “because I’d much rather cuddle you than finish those dreaded reports.”
“You would rather do anything than finish reports, Dazai.”
“Shhh,” Dazai pressed a finger to Kunikida’s lips, “that’s not important.”
Kunikida rolled his eyes, but didn’t argue further. He just pushed Dazai’s bangs out of his face, pressing a gentle kiss to his forehead.
Dazai hummed appreciatively from the affection, nuzzling his face against the taller man’s neck. They didn’t get a lot of peaceful moments like this, but when they did, Dazai greatly appreciated them. And, while he never entirely vocalized it, Kunikida did, too.
“Do we have work tomorrow?” Dazai asked, his voice muffled slightly from being tucked against Kunikida’s neck.
“No,” Kunikida kissed the top of Dazai’s head, “we don’t. The mission today was long, so we’re taking tomorrow to rest.”
Dazai relaxed further against Kunikida from his words, pressing a gentle kiss to his cheek. Kunikida didn’t always allow days off, but he was very grateful for when he did.
“So we can cuddle more tomorrow? Maybe watch cheesy movies and bring the cats into our cuddle pile?” Dazai asked, resting his head against Kunikida’s shoulder and smiling at him. Kunikida turned to look at Dazai, kissing his nose.
“That sounds nice,” Kunikida said, his voice quiet. He gently tucked Dazai’s hair behind his ear, giving a soft hum.
Kunikida only looked away when he heard the door to the Agency open, and moved to sit up, but Dazai didn’t move out of his lap.
“Come on, Dazai,” Kunikida said, “they’re back. We should get back to work.”
Dazai gave a soft whine, nuzzling his head against Kunikida’s neck, gripping his vest. “I don’t wannaaaa… Kunikida-kun is so comfortable… makes me never want to get up! Not fair…”
Kunikida sighed, ignoring Ranpo’s snort as he walked past, and Atsushi’s slightly surprised glance that they were showing affection outside of their home. Kunikida waved a hand, and Atsushi looked away, continuing off to his desk.
“If you get off of me, I’ll make crab for dinner tomorrow night,” Kunikida said, making Dazai perk up. “It can be a home-date.”
“Deal!” Dazai grinned, getting off of Kunikida, but not before pressing a chaste kiss to his lips. He wandered off to his desk, leaving a slightly red-cheeked Kunikida alone on the couch, pressing a finger to his lips.
“What am I going to do with him,” Kunikida murmured to himself, “no matter what, he always somehow makes me flustered.”
Kunikida stood up, going over to his desk to finish up the last of his paperwork. He would thoroughly enjoy his and Dazai’s day off the next day.
