Waaaaa!
Waaaaa!
Fuyumi woke up to the sound of crying from the baby monitor. She put her glasses on and read the time on the clock.
1:30
She yawned as she stretched after slipped out of her husband's arms to turn off the sound, got out of bed, and walked out the room trying to make as little noise as possible. She didn't even bother putting on a robe something comfortable. That didn't matter, the baby was her number one priority. The baby's room was right next to theirs so the child didn't have to wait long for some milk. She opened the door to hear the crying more clearly and loudly. Fuyumi walked to the crib where her son laid in a hungry fit.
“It's okay, shhhh” she whispered as she picked him up and held the baby close. “Mama's here.
The baby's cry lowered to a quiet whine from being held by his mother. She first went to the changing table to change his diaper before she moved to the rocking chair to sit down. Fuyumi put the baby on her lap before she pulled her shirt up to unhook her bra clip on the strap. She gathered the child back in her arms and moved him towards her breast to eat. He took the nipple in his mouth and sucked hungrily.
Fuyumi giggled softly. “There we go, little one. There's no need to cry anymore.” She hummed quietly as she rocked her son as he ate. She didn't notice the presence of the figure leaning against the door frame.
Keigo too woke up when he heard the baby crying and sat up in bed while his wife left the room. Fuyumi used to tell him he didn't have to get up when she did, saying he had to work a busy schedule and had to have as much rest as possible. Even so, he felt guilty for putting the task of her always waking up at ungodly hours with little to no rest. The baby was his responsibility too. So, he gets up anyway not only to help with whatever she needed, but to get the chance to see the scene he would never get tired of and could watch forever.
There he stood in the doorway watching his wife feeding his son basking in the glow of the little moonlight that peek through the window curtain. It all seemed so surreal. Keigo would never get tired of watching the two most important people in his life. How did he get so lucky to have his life unfold like this? Never would he have imagined what life had in store for him. He never thought it possible to feel this happy. The first sign of this feeling within him started when he asked Fuyumi on their first date. Then, that went to more dates and eventually falling in love with her which let to asking her to marry him. If just grew and grew more and more inside of him. This love he cherishes so much resulted in the little miracle in his wife's arms.
He was beyond excited when Fuyumi told him she was pregnant, but also quite terrified. His childhood wasn't exactly the best that was filled with love and that made him wonder if he would ever be a good father. She quickly put his fears to rest with her words of encouragement and love. He realized then that it didn't matter what happened in the past for he was moving forward and with Fuyumi by his side, he can never go wrong.
Fuyumi must have noticed him now as she looked at him and smiled the most beautiful smile ever. He felt his heart beat faster and fell in love with her all over again. He smiled back at her while so many emotions swelled up in his chest that he could burst.
The baby stopped eating and yawned while wiggling to get comfortable. Fuyumi fixed her bra and shirt and stood up to hold the baby looking over her shoulder to burp. A couple of minuets later, a small blurp was heard from him. She sighed and rocked her body sideways to put the baby to sleep once again. When he finally was, she gently laid him back in his crib and tucked him with his covers around his body.
“Goodnight, little one,” she whispered, lovingly looking at him and rubbed his soft cheek.
Keigo came behind his wife and wrapped his arms around her stomach while his wings went around her and the baby crib as if to protect them from prying eyes. He watched his son sleeping and after all this time, still couldn't believe he was a father. He felt tears from the back of his eyes come forward as he buried his face in Fuyumi's shoulder. He couldn't stop the sniffle that came from his nose.
“What's wrong, Keigo?” she asked, worried.
“Nothing really,” he answered, his voice raw with emotion. “I'm just so happy right now. I love you both so, so much.”
Fuyumi turned around and cupped his face with her hands. “We love you too, Papa. So, so much.”
