Work Text:
Jotaro Kujo was always a man that was painfully bad at expressing himself, this was something that everyone knew, including one Rohan Kishibe.
So no doubt it came as a shock to him when Jotaro asked him to use heavens door on him.
Jotaro had called into Rohans house not long before and now found himself sat on a chair in front of Rohan, who wasn’t exactly used to looking down at the tall man.
“You want me to.. What?” Rohan asked after a minute of stunned silence, clearly very confused.
“I want you to use your stand on me.”
Jotaro was stoic as always, but still clearly flustered. Something Rohan also wasn’t used to seeing. It wasn’t exactly common for people to ask to have stands used on them, though most stands did tend to be rather.. Violent. Rohans stand, while powerful, was rather peaceful when compared to others.
“Why?”
Jotaro groaned a little “I don’t really know how to put them into words, my emotions I mean.. your stand can read people. Their emotions, their memories, their experiences..” Jotaro trailed off, slowly growing more flustered and the younger man began to realise he was putting a lot of trust in him right now.
“If I do, I’ll be able to see everything you know.. Not just feelings.”
“I know that!” Jotaro snapped, the buildup was eating him from the inside and he just wanted Rohan to get it over with already. “I.. I know that, I just-”
Jotaros rested his head in his hand, his face beginning to heat up
“- I don’t know how to put my feelings into words. So.. it’s better if you read them for yourself, so you can understand..”
Rohan put a hand to his chin, thinking for a moment.
“Well, yes, that makes a lot of sense actually.. You really trust me with this?”
Rohan usually used his stand no questions asked, almost every person he met he immediately jumped with it just to make sure they aren’t a threat. But with Jotaro it was different, he never even got a chance to use his stand on the older man. So for him to be not only asking but practically begging for Rohan to use his stand on him was a surprise, to put it lightly.
The small stand slowly appeared from behind Rohan as he approached Jotaro.
“And you’re sure about this?” he wanted to make sure. He didn’t want a man as secretive as Jotaro to regret this later.
“Oh for fucks- yes!” Jotaro went quiet for a moment before finishing with a soft “please.”
Rohan simply nodded, his heavens door gently gripping the sides of Jotaros face as it began to flip open, revealing the masses of pages hidden beneath. Rohan glanced over the pages, catching an odd word or 2 but not really reading anything.
“Would you like me to read anything specific?”
“No. just read. I don’t really care..please”
Jotaros tone was soft, quiet. Rohan could tell this was important to him, and so he read.
It was admittedly a lot to take in, a lot to learn, but Rohan kept reading, he knew this meant a lot to Jotaro.
The Egypt trip, DIO, finding out about his stand, the various fights he’d been in.. there was a lot about a man named Kakyoin, it was clear this man, whoever he was, whoever he used to be, meant a lot to Jotaro.
Jotaro was silent as Rohan read, he was silent in general. But for once it didn’t feel awkward. It felt natural, comfortable even. Rohan didn’t notice how he subconsciously slipped onto Jotaros lap, tilting Jotaro’s face down a bit as he began to kneel on the chair they were both now seated on.
The pages kept coming, the stakes rising and Rohan couldn’t help but feel relief when he read about Jotaro winning battle after battle. it felt like Rohan was reading a novel, a story, all of this was just so unbelievable.
The divorce, his kid, his regrets, all things Rohan gave a thorough read-through, taking in various little mannerisms intertwined as Rohan suddenly found himself learning a lot about Jotaro. it was honestly hard to think Jotaro had actually gone through all this, and Rohan just couldn’t help but pity the guy.
When Rohan finally got to the present it became clear as to just why Jotaro wanted him to read so bad. That Kakyoin guy.. Even 10 years later he found himself lurking in Jotaro's thoughts again and again. As it turns out the young mangaka reminded Jotaro quite a bit of Kakyoin.. In a weird way. Rohan was more than happy, more than contempt to read about Jotaro’s various feelings, knowing Jotaro wouldn’t have done this in the first place if he hadn’t wanted Rohan to know about it. It was relieving to know Jotaro trusted Rohan with all this in the first place.
Rohan finally closed over the pages and Jotaros face slowly returned to normal.
Jotaro opened his eyes, his face slightly flushed as he looked at the mangaka.
“... well?”
Rohan looked at him, he hadn’t expected him to break the silence.
“Jotaro I-”
All the information he had just learnt began to settle in. He was silent for a moment, hands slowly coming away from Jotaros face before Rohan wrapped them around the marine biologist, pulling the older man into a hug.
“Thank you.. Thank you for telling me this.”
Jotaro hadn’t expected the sudden hug, the sudden tenderness, he expected to be laughed at. To be mocked. For Rohan to scoff and walk away the moment he finished reading. But he didn’t care about what he expected, he just wanted to get it all out there. To finally tell this, even in a roundabout way, to someone , to anyone , and he knew Rohan was the perfect guy. Not just because of his stand, but because Jotaro knew he could Trust Rohan. He’d known him long enough for that.
Jotaro suddenly found himself beggining to shake, melting into Rohans touch, slowly reaching his hands up to hug Rohan back. He could feel tears beginning to form at the corners of his eyes. It had been literal years since he had felt this kind of intimacy.
Rohan gently moved a hand to the top of Jotaros head, slowly stroking his hair as he found himself muttering gentle reassurances to the marine biologist, who was now violently shaking and sobbing in his arms. Rohan found himself wondering when was the last time Jotaro had let himself be so vulnerable.
Jotaro sobbed into Rohans shoulder for what felt like hours, he hadn’t done anything even close to this since he got back from Egypt. It felt nice, for everything Rohan was he managed to surprise Jotaro with just how well he was handling all this. When he finally wore himself out he kept his face resting in Rohans shoulder.
“I’m sorry. You shouldn’t have had to put up with-” Jotaro was cut off by a harsh shush before Rohan spoke up.
“Don’t you dare say that kind of thing!” Rohan gently tilted Jotaros chin to face him, the tears that streaked down his face entirely breaking the stoic facade he's had for years. Rohan let out a small huff as he examined Jotaros; Admittedly very attractive features.
“You’ve been hiding all this for such a long time.. Frankly,” Rohan reached up, gently wiping a tear away from Jotaros cheek. “I’m rather relieved to know that you trusted me with all this.”
Jotaro let out a dry chuckle “well I knew you’d be able to put it into words.”
the younger man nodded, he understood. Jotaros cheek gently pressed into his hand, his eyes half closed, he was tired. That much was clear.
Rohan sighed. “It’s late.. You should get some rest, you need it. I have a guest bedroom if you’d like to stay the night”
Jotaro nods. “ yeah.. You’re probably right.. I’ll.. I’ll stay, if you really don’t mind”
Rohan offered a sad smile, “of course I don’t! The guest bedroom is just the next room over. And I’ll be here if you need anything. goodnight, Jotaro.” he said as he gently began to climb off of Jotaro, only to find himself being pulled back down.
“Don’t go.. Please.” the poor man practically begged.
Rohan, getting over the initial shock, smiled down at him. He gave a gentle kiss to Jotaros forehead as he gently began to pull Jotaro up.
“Well if you insist, then why don’t you stay in here instead?”
Jotaro offered a weak smile.
“ I’d love to.”
