Work Text:

It was the day of their first anniversary since the day they got married happily together. While Nana was busy making everyone their last batch of the favorite banana desserts, Junna sat back on the sofa in the living room with her high school buddies.

“Junna, have some of these. Maya tends to overbuy sweets and we already had a bunch of them since returning from France, I’m sure Nana would love to experiment with some other stuff as well.” Claudine pulled out a box of chocolates from her gift bags and handed it to the bookworm.

Initially rejecting the food, she hesitantly accepted it when she thought of how Nana was asking her to get some new sweets down the departmental store a few weeks ago.

“Thanks, Clau.” The woman chuckled and the couple smiled back at her warmly.

If anything, their shine hasn’t gotten any dimmer over the years. It’s probably a good thing that she renewed her spectacles months ago, to prepare her for this day.

Junna glanced over the packaging when she felt a weight settled down next to her, none other than her wife whom she shared a quick kiss before snuggling with each other while watching the television.

“What’s that?” Nana pointed to the box still in Junna’s hands and her eyes seemed to lit up seconds after it was in her focus.

“Ah! This must be Maya’s favorite collection of chocolates, how nice of them to give these to us. I’ve always wanted to try them out.” Nana seems excited for her age and the bookworm started to tear the wrapper out.

“We can try them now if you want to..”

Both women were in for a pleasant surprise when they opened up the box to see 10 chocolates sized in mini-alcohol bottles greeting them.

“I’ve always known Maya for trying out these exquisite chocolates, can’t wait to taste them out now!” The banana then put one chocolate into her mouth before realizing how her wife stayed pouting for her pronounced love for sweets in front of her.

“You seemed to be in love with sweets more than me..” Junna said coldly while having her back faced towards Nana, earning little giggles from her wife who then turned her around to let her taste some of the chocolate in her mouth.

Mmm..

The kiss was strong, even with more feelings put into it. A lick between the two women would have already started a silent symphony on its own. But the two decided to keep it apt till their guests have left their house.

As Nana got ready to stand up to check up on her desserts, she noticed how Junna was starting to get a little light-hearted, with her face flushed and all.

“She’s starting to get a little tipsy huh? That’s cute.” Nana thought to herself, before feeling her waist being grabbed by the purple-haired lady.

“Where are you going?” Junna was somehow a different person than who she’s used to be, a strict woman with clear goals in mind. However, under the influence of alcohol, she could be compared to a slightly ticked-off Kaoruko, which amuses the Banana much.

“I’m going to check up on the muffins and make sure they’re ready to eat. I’ll be back soon.” With that, Nana followed it up with a forehead kiss to calm her wife down.

The woman stayed silent of course, until..

“Hmm~ The muffins smell great! Bananice!” Karen shouted as she caught a whiff of her last sweets of the day. She happily hopped to Nana’s side and waited enthusiastically while playing with the taller lady’s hair. Unbeknownst to her, another woman had already crept up behind her, ready to rid off whoever who gets close to her beloved.

“Did you just flirt with my wife?”

An arrow seemed to be hanging straight above the poor girl’s head as she was immediately dragged away by her two girlfriends.

“We’re sorry!! We’ll let her know when the muffins would be served.” Hikari and Mahiru quickly apologized to escape the wrath of the Archer, who gradually calmed down after hugging tightly close to her wife, who returned the gesture with a simple kiss or two.

“Geez.. You’re not paying enough attention towards me and now I get so angsty when you’re with other girls..” Junna turned a little more aggressive the seconds ticked and Nana knew it would be dangerous if she were to be left alone any further.

If kissing her wouldn’t be sufficient.. then…

Blowing off steam off her head was her best reaction to what her wife might do to her next, and the host quickly packed the food for her guests and ushered them to leave quickly as the night was getting rather late. Most understood her intentions, while Futaba is trying to convince her girlfriend to leave with the others.

“Noo..! I haven’t gotten to the end of the love story yet. I need to know the end!” Kaoruko was getting pushed off the sofa with much effort before Nana handled the CD to her wife.

“You can finish this later, but now I have some wifey troubles..” Nana was back hugged by a seemingly jealous Junna who couldn’t stop glaring at the Sakura flower.

“O-oh. .. I’m sorry, I’ll leave soon.”

With that, all the guests have left their residence and the time seemed to be just right.

The moment the last guest was on sight, Junna started to be the aggressive top whenever the two women were on their own.

“Nana.. I want your hugs..”

The fruit didn’t put up a fight at all, as she had been in places where she offended her girl so badly once it almost screwed their relationship up. But that happened in the past, and she learned from that, so all’s good.

With soft whispers being exchanged from one another, it didn’t take long for the purple-haired lady to settle down in her wife’s arms, purring softly within the comfort of her home, Nana.

They talked about how they first met, albeit before the time loops and all, and how their journey together went from being normal roommates to a couple in a span of a decade. The conversation seemed to have made one of them hungry since the growling of the tummy couldn’t be masked in the silent night.

“Junna, do you want some banana muffins? I had some leftover from just now and I could warm some up for you.” The Banana was yet again being tugged by her wife, who insisted on going on a trip to the kitchen with her.

“Whatever you say, class rep!” One woman laughed and the other cringed at the name-calling. Despite years gone by, Junna hasn’t lost any one of her traits to time. And Nana still loves her for it.

Carefully placing 2 muffins from the plastic container to the Tupperware, Nana heard her wife gasp out loud.

“I thought you could’ve baked at least 12 a time, where did the others go?” Junna counted the batch, typical of her behaviour.

“Oh, I gave them away to the others. Don’t you remember how they all had a bag with them when they left? We couldn’t let our guests go empty-handed, can we?” Nana explained slowly to her still drunk wife, who immediately got upset by the news.

“How dare you give away our babies!! We made them with love–” A rant was quickly silenced by an abrupt kiss, one even more passionate with the one they had before.

“Na-nna..”

With their bodies close to each other and Junna’s arms wrapped around her wife’s shoulders, Nana couldn’t resist it anymore and stroked her wife’s back slowly and tenderly.

“Na…” Their collaborative performances had already begun and for the first time ever, no one was there to witness their performances.

“Christine, I have always loved you. How you shine on the stage, so brilliant..! I can’t ever forget how you are in my eyes..” Nana spoke with her deeper voice which somehow worked wonders on a very intoxicated kitten. Her kitten, to be specific.

“C’mon, we still have to make our tummies satisfied, let’s eat.” Nana then served the muffins on a plate and the two shared another sweet moment in their life together.

Perhaps the alcohol was only starting to wear off and lethargy crept in like a snake, causing the previously angsty woman to fall asleep right next to the Banana after their supper, making her sigh.

“I love you, Junna.”

It was her last kiss to her wife before the clock struck 12.

The Next Day..

‘Junna, here are some of our babies which I have warmed up in the oven, to be taken for your breakfast. I’ll see you promptly at work.

Love,
Nana’

Junna stared blankly at the note left on the kitchen table, where Nana would usually place the food before she left for work. Being the director of several films, Nana doesn’t have the privilege to stay in bed longer than her wife, thus the situation.

“Nana.. But these are the banana muffins you made yesterday..right? Why would you call them our babies?”

The bespectacled woman was astounded by her wife’s weird name-calling antics once more, but she recognized the effort she put in, the same as every morning. She chuckled at her wife’s silliness and reminded her why they would be married in the first place.

“Oh my~ Nana never changes huh..”

Little did she know..

Notes:

Never give nerds alcohol, you don't know what they are capable of after they're intoxicated.
