The Best Hiding Spot

Summary:

You're the last one standing in a game of hide and seek. Bakugo is willing to hide you if it means Deku won't win. There's cuddling, so yeah.

Just a short, roughly edited one-shot :)

Knock knock knock

Bakugo swears under his breath and gets out of bed, sliding open the door.
“The hell do you want?” You ignore the question and push past him, closing the door behind you. “Hey! What-”
“I need you to hide me! All the other doors on the hall are locked, and I’m not sure if he heard you or saw me go in…” Your eyes dart to the door nervously, leaning an ear against it to hear down the hall.
“Who are you hiding from?” He asks, tempted to just kick you out and throw you to the wolves, crush or not, he needs his sleep-

“Midoriya…”

“Come over here. Damn Deku…” Bakugo huffs, pulling you back to his bed. “There’s no room for you in the closet, so get under the covers and go as close to the wall as you can. I’ll block you from view.” You can practically see his head smoking, so you comply as quickly as possible, drawing the blankets over your face as Bakugo checks that no part of you is visible. His sheets smell like burnt caramel.

Bakugo lays on his side next to you, totally nonchalant. As if you aren’t in his bed. As if both of your hearts aren’t pounding at the speed of light.

He’s being surprisingly chill about this, you think, finally letting yourself exhale.
“Oi, shut the fuck up,” Bakugo reprimands you.

The door bursts open almost instantly, and Kirishima, Deku, Uraraka, Kaminari, Yaoyorozu, Mina, Sero, and Hagakure flood into the room.
“Who are you talking to?” Kaminari shouts, pointing at Bakugo. “We know she’s in here! She’s the only one Midoriya hasn’t found yet!”

“Myself,” Bakugo growls, leaning so as to shield you better, his shoulder blades digging into your back. “Get the fuck out of my room!”

“We’ll see about that! Hey, Sero, check the closet!”

“Why the fuck are you all helping him?! I said, get out of my room! Bastards!”

“Haven’t you ever played hide and seek? The ones found help the finder!”

“Well, she’s not in here, damn it! You think I’d just let someone waltz into my room while I’m trying to sleep? Get out before I blast you!” He raises a hand threateningly, sparks popping between his fingers.

“Alright, alright! Come on, Midoriya, she’s got to be on a different floor.”

You both huff out a sigh of relief when the door shuts behind them, the noise from the group traveling down the hall.

“Bastards,” Bakugo says, after they’re no longer audible. “How long do you have to be in here?”

“Midoriya had twenty minutes to find everyone. Looks like he already found everyone else in the first seven…so, I have about thirteen more minutes until he forfeits and I win.” Your voice is muffled slightly by the bedspread, but he gets the point.

“Fine,” He grunts, readjusting so that he’s lying on his back. “I’m going to sleep. You can let yourself out, I don’t care.”

“Oh…okay, then.” He’s just going to go to sleep while I’m still here?!?!! Your internal freak out goes unnoticed by the boy next to you, who starts snoring softly. Five minutes passes in the blink of an eye, and then it verges on ten. Bakugo’s started to shift in his sleep, and you’re checking the time every two seconds now, waiting for the group to call time. What if they come back? Are they still searching? The intermittant passing of footsteps in the hallway makes you freeze up, retreating further under the covers. Two more minutes… An arm creeps over your waist, and you try not to squeak in shock as Bakugo pulls you closer to him, still fast asleep. It’s nerve wracking, but his hold is loose and he’s warm and he smells good, so you just lie there quietly until you hear Midoriya shouting that you’ve won from the common room. Time up! Now to slip out of this situation and go claim the bragging rights…You shift around so that you’re on your back and gently start to move the arm at your waist, your eyes nervously glued to Bakugo’s sleeping face. You’re well aware of the consequences of waking him up. You’ve heard the loud blasts, everyone knows there’s a good reason Kirishima is the designated Bakugo-getter. Please don’t wake up, just let me go…

Your plans are thwarted when his grip tightens, his other arm wraps under you to pull you into his chest, and his nose nuzzles into the side of your face in his sleep. Shit shit shit. Fuck it.
“Bakugo,” you whisper, pushing at his shoulder, “Hey, Bakugo. Time’s up, I need to go.”

“Fuck off,” He murmurs, hooking his leg over both of yours despite your half-assed noise of protest. His spiky hair brushes across your cheeks and you fight the urge to laugh at the ticklish feeling.

“Bakugo…”

“Mmrgh.” Guess that’s that.

“Y/n, where were you hiding last night? Did you just go to bed after time was up? We never saw you again!” Uraraka asks, setting her breakfast down next to yours. Your face warms as you recall waking up that morning, still wrapped in Bakugo’s arms, his face buried in your neck.

Your eyes meet his as he walks past your table, smirking slightly when you notice his reddening ears.

“If I give away my hiding spot, I’ll never be able to hide there again,” You tell her, loud enough for Bakugo to hear from the next table over. “It’s a secret!”
