I'll Always Believe You

Summary:

The Principal decides it's best to bring in the parents of the students involved in THE WORST stalking case he's ever witnessed. In all his years involved in the hero world he's never seen parents react in the way these three did concerning this matter.

**
“the people that were supposed to protect me no matter what left me vulnerable to a monster!”

He curled into himself. “I learned that I couldn’t depend on anyone to save me anymore,” He wheezed as tears fell down

his face again, “I had to be my own hero.”

Work Text:

Bakugou shifted anxiously in front of the principal and homeroom teacher as they waited for both his parents and Midoriya’s mother to arrive.

“Everything’s going to be alright Bakugou,” Aizawa stated softly, putting a reassuring hand on his shoulder to ease the small trembling in his muscles, “we’ll make sure everything is taken care of.”

“They’re not going to believe you,” Bakugou replied, scratching at his wrist nervously, “he’s in their heads.”

“Even if they don’t, you have us behind you Mr. Bakugou.” Nezu added, with a small nod.

It’s been a long time since the blonde felt comfort from someone from school, especially from his teachers. He gave his own nod, although he opted to cross his arms and hold himself while the impending sense of doom enveloped him. He couldn’t shake the feeling of eyes on his back. He knew logically that there was no one behind him considering it was a solid wall but it could still feel the familiar shiver in his spine.

It wasn’t much longer until he could hear his mother storming down the hall despite the door being firmed closed. She seemed to quiet down in order to knock on the door, although she opened it without permission a second later.

“Mitsuki, it’s okay!” Inko rushed out, both her and Masaru trying to calm down the fuming blonde.

“What the hell did you do this time you brat!” She yelled, her purse flying around dangerously.

Masaru hopped out of the way in order to save himself from being smacked, before carefully extracting it from her arm.

“You’re always pulling crap like this Katsuki!” She continued, storming towards him, “and somehow it always includes poor little Izuku! The hell’s wrong with you!”

The younger blonde stubbornly kept his back to her, careful to keep himself facing the principal in order to not lose composure. The mouse kept his eyes on his with a reassuring nod.

She wound up her arm, readying to deal out a few hits, before she was yanked away by Aizawa’s capture device. “I highly suggest that you don’t do that.” Aizawa growled lowly.

Mitsuki’s eyes widened in shock, before she frowned and moved away after she was released. None of the new occupants in the room seemed to notice until now that the teen hadn’t said a word in retaliation to Mitsuki’s words which would be strange for the fiery blond. “Katsuki, are you okay?” Masaru asked softly.

The boy let out a shaky exhale, glancing at him. He looked tired more than anything, his eyes were dull and full of an emotion none of the parents had seen from him before. At least not in front of them.
“Please, everyone take a seat.” Nezu stated, “we have a lot to discuss.”

“I’m sorry. I don’t mean to be rude, but why am I here?” Inko asked softly, “Does this really have something to do with Izuku?”

“It does.” The mouse answered, matter-of-factly.

“Then where is he?” Inko asked, before her eyes widened, “he’s not hurt is he?”

Her face flew to stare at the blonde at the other side of the room. Her eyes fully accusing, “You didn’t hurt him again did you?”

“Katsuki, I swear to God.” Mitsuki grit out, “i’m going to kick your ass.”

The boy subtly scooted away from his mother with a grimace despite being seated by his father.

“Settle down!” Aizawa yelled, silencing them once again.

This group was getting on his last god damn nerve. The quicker they could go over everything, the quicker they could get precautions in order for Bakugou. “Midoriya is not hurt as far as we know, we have both police and pro-heroes searching for him.” The teacher continued.

The green haired mother let out a relieved breath before they flew wide in panic again. “He’s missing?!”

The teacher’s expression turned serious, “when they find him he will be arrested on multiple charges.”

“ARRESTED?!” The three parents yelled.

“WHAT COULD HE POSSIBLY BE ARRESTED FOR?!” Inko yelled, surprising everyone with her sudden change in demeanour.

She looked like she was ready to pounce forward any second. Aizawa and Nezu could see how the outburst made Katsuki seize up, his face twisting in fear. Midoriya always did the exact same thing, one small thing could make him fly off the handle.

“The main investigator of the case is going to be introducing more changes later tonight, for right now he’s wanted for several counts of criminal harassment, breaking and entering, theft, uttering threats, voyerism, possession of intimate images, and extortion.” Aizawa stated, his gaze cold.

The three’s expressions of shock seemed to grow as the list went on.

“There’s no way that is true!” Inko cried, bursting into tears.

She pulled a handkerchief out of her purse in order to dab at her tears. Mitsuki put a comforting hand on her shoulder, before scowling at the teacher in front of her. “What proof do you have?” He snarled, “we’ve known him for years. That kid could never do something illegal even if he wanted to.”

The hero scoffed, pulling out the pile of journals from the side of the room. “Do you recognize these?” He asked.

“Those are Izuku’s journals,” his mother replied, sniffling.

“Have you ever looked in them?” He pushed, handing each of them one of the book.
“Of course not! He deserves his privacy!” She argued, clenching the book so hard, the cover began to crease.

“I still don’t understand why Katsuki is here though,” Masaru added, in confusion.
“Midoriya committed these crimes against your son.” Nezu replied, lacing his paws together, watching them carefully.

The blonde women rolled her eyes, crossing her arms in clear defiance.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Mitsuki snapped, standing from her seat, “and you believe the little shit? Especially over a sweet kid like Izuku?”

The principal almost looked shocked for a moment, before sobering up once again. He looked like he wanted to lash back out at the woman before he shook his head and turned his attention to Inko.

“I think you’ve been neglectful Ms. Midoriya,” Nezu stated, making everyone silence once again, both Mitsuki and Inko’s jaws dropping in disbelief, “you should have been watching your son closer, just like he’s been watching Katsuki.”

He motioned for them to look in the journals. Inko quickly opened the one on her lap, ready to defend her innocent son. Her eyes widened at the manic scrawl that covered the pages, passages upon passages about the blonde teen sitting next to them.

Aizawa leaned moved closer to the group sitting across from the desk.

“Don’t be shy now, what does that one say?” Aizawa growled, to the green-haired woman.

“I-c-can’t, Mitsuki and Masaru-“

“What does it say?” He growled again, “they deserve to know what your son has been doing to theirs.”

The other two parents leaned closer to see, also shocked at the unhinged words spread across the pages.

“T-tonight I snuck into K-Kaachan’s room again,” she stuttered out, tears gathering in her eyes, “he wouldn’t let me near him on the playground today so I g-guess that’s his way of inviting me here. I want to know how his s-skin f-feels. His palms are way tougher than the rest of his body, especially the inside of his t-thighs.”

Masaru’s eyes widened in horror and his stomach cramped. “m-maybe if I find out how to take his quirk away, I can get every part of him to be that soft.”

Inko was shaking as she glared up at the teacher and principal. She almost looked as if she would be sick right then and there.

“He’d never do something like this.” She insisted, “there has to be some kind of mix up.”

Masaru glanced nervously over at his wife as she nodded in agreement, “Mitsuki-“ he whispered quietly, silencing as she waved a hand at him that screamed ‘shut the fuck up’.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Aizawa glared right back, focusing on Masaru this time. The man still gave him the same feeling as when he first laid eyes on him. An absolute pushover.

He gulped nervously under the glare. “I told you they wouldn’t believe you.” Katsuki muttered quietly.

“Kats-“ Masaru began to sigh before freezing, ice flooding his veins. Bakugou was staring at the ground as tears rolled down his cheeks. He’d never seen his son look so.. hallow. He snapped his gaze over to his wife, who wore the same expression as him. For once in her life, Bakugou Mitsuki was speechless. Even she’d seen little Izuku carrying those books around with him… while following after Katstuki. She opted to focus her attention on the book in her lap, opening it herself to see pages and pages of passages about her son. “Poor Kaachan stopped looking me in the eyes today,” she muttered out loud, “I think he’s starting to learn to listen to what I’m telling him to do.”

Masaru also carefully opened the notebook to look through even though Inko tried to convince him otherwise. They almost missed the women’s hitched breath before Mitsuki was pulling the journal in her hands to see what she saw. Bakugou hid his face in his hands and let out a quiet sob seeing the illustration Midoriya had done of him. He wore the same expression in the drawing as he had before but now he was sitting in a large bird cage like a pet. “What the fuck is going on!” Mitsuki screamed, just as Aizawa snatched the journal in her hands that was close to tearing.

“We need those as evidence.” He stated simply at her appalled expression.

“Did you hit Katsuki on Izuku’s behalf?” Masaru suddenly interrupted, catching them all off guard.

“What?” Mistuki replied dumbly.

“I have to be thankful that Auntie Mitsuki has such a terrible temper. I told her that Kaachan hit me today and she did me the favour of hitting back for me. I’ll never forget the look of betrayal on his face. It was cute.” He read off one of the pages, louder than he had ever before, “I’ll have to do something to get back at her though. She marked his face up.”

“Well, I mean what else was I supposed to do?!” She yelled back, suddenly in defensive mode.
“And you think hitting him was the best idea?!” He screamed back, “you put him in even more danger! You unlocked a new avenue for this creep to use against him!”

“I-I-“

“and God I just let you do whatever you wanted!” He buried his head between his legs as he tried to take in a heaving breath, “fuck.”

Bakugou was looking at him with sudden surprise and a small glimmer of how he’d look at heroes. He’d never heard his father win over his mother in an argument before and he’d admit that it was kind of bad ass. He’d never in his life heard his father swear before. Inko didn’t appear like she believed a single word any of them had said, regardless of the proof that was staring her straight in the face. “You can’t prove that this is Izuku’s.” She stated, crossing her arms, “and don’t call him a creep.”

She pointedly ignored the glares from the Bakugou’s and teachers. It looked like a monster was being unleashed in the normally meek brunette, he was about ready to get up from his chair and defend his son when the Principal interrupted.

“You mean besides the fact that you identified the notebooks yourself?” Nezu pointed out, “Or the fact that your son has extremely unique hand writing that has been forensically matched to his official UA paperwork and classwork?”

“W-well-“

“Or how about the fact that he confessed to what he did in front of 20 U.A students and 2 Shiketsu high students?” Aizawa added, “Bakugou also handed over evidence that he’s collected over the past years including camera’s that were tracked back to your son.”

“If it was so bad why didn’t he say anything to his parents then!” She yelled over him, trying anything to displace the blame from her son.

The two other adults sucked in a breath.

“They didn’t believe me the first 10 times I told them, so why would they believe the 11th?” Bakugou stated quietly.

“Katsuki we’re sorry-“ Masaru started.

“Well sorry isn’t enough!” The blonde yelled, showing the first bit of emotion the entire meeting, “the people that were supposed to protect me no matter what left me vulnerable to a monster!”

He curled into himself. “I learned that I couldn’t depend on anyone to save me anymore,” He wheezed as tears fell down his face again, “I had to be my own hero.”

He stared straight at his father as he spoke. The man could remember all the times when he was a child and begged his parents to not go to the Midoriya’s for sleepovers, which they ignored because Izuku had asked them so sweetly if Katsuki could stay the night. He could remember how hard the blonde would cry and cling to him when he would leave him for the night. The next morning when he would be there to pick him up, his son would cling to him again for the rest of the day until suddenly he just… stopped. He stopped being affectionate with his parents and his personality completely changed into such an angry person that they didn’t recognize. Why had they never listened to what Katsuki wanted? He clearly never wanted to be around Izuku, so why did they just accept what ever the boy said? The more Masaru thought about it, the more the feeling of fear in him grew. How long had he ignored his son?

“What happens now?” Mitsuki asked, trying to stay calm.

“We continue to search for Midoriya. Obvious hiding places for him are being monitored for him. That includes both of your residences.” Aizawa stated leaning back against the wall, “Bakugou is going to be monitored as well by the teachers here and pro-heroes outside of the walls.”
“We also have the 2 Shiketsu students temporary learning here in order to help keep him comfortable.” Nezu said, “both of them have very strong quirks so they can aid him if needed.”

The two nodded as they continued to go over new protocols they were putting in place. “We’re making UA as safe as possible for him while Midoriya is on the run.”

The heroes eyes trained on Inko, “if we find out that you’re in contact with Midoriya or you’re hiding him in any way it is indescribable the amount of trouble you’ll be in,” He stated, “he’s classified as a dangerous individual as of right now and he will be treated as such.”

“What makes you think he’s going to come back?” Mitsuki asked.

“He won’t stay away for long,” Bakugou added reading over one of the journals off the stack on the desk, “he always gets what he wants, and as always he wants me.”

The grainy video footage was infuriating as usual, but the green haired teen didn’t care. He still could read every emotion on his sweet Kaachan’s face. UA really needed to update their security camera’s, especially the ones in Nezu’s office. What if someone broke in? There’d be no way of identifying someone with crap resolution like this. The boy chucked despite it with a shake of his head, “you say you don’t love me Kaachan, yet you know me so well.”
