Summary

What a fucking fic, oh my GOD. INSANE writing. 'It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you', and the everyone likes Africa callback actually made my jaw drop, I had to get up and do a lap around my house at the end there so I didn't explode into a million pieces. I think this is gonna be one of those fics I think about for a long, long time. This fic is pretty deaddove-esque, and it really delivers. The relationships are SO complex and fucked up in such a strange, specific way that keeps you hooked much the same way Frank is. I have no idea if it was intentional or not, but the repeated use of 'the teenager' in reference to Frank, ESPECIALLY when next to Danny's 'the serial killer' or 'the man', really drives in that nasty, festering feeling that their relationship is utterly rotten. (It may be the 90s, but by god is it still uncomfortable.) And the author's note about deciding that we, the audience, only get Danny's pov chapter when he WANTS us to get it? fucking genius, hands in the air ABSOLUTE CINEMA.
