"Kambe," Haru called, eyes focused on his computer, "Can you get me a coffee, please? The one from that cafe next to the station?"
Not even a millisecond later, Daisuke stood up and was headed to the door, "Of course."
Kamei blinked, still taken aback by the millionaire's behavior. It started about 2 weeks ago when Haru was shot and admitted to the hospital. Kamei had never seen Kambe look so distraught and panicked, snapping at everyone and even his sister. He knew that Kambe never left Haru's side. Kambe, who called the best doctors in Japan and transferred Haru to one of the best hospitals in Japan.
Now, the man was like a lovestruck puppy or a doting husband. "Kambe, can you get me this?" or "Kambe, can you do this?". Without hesitation, every one of Haru's requests was done with utmost efficiency. Even the Haru's comments like "I like roses a lot. I heard that blue ones are impossible to find, though." were done within a few minutes (Accompanied by Haru's bright red face and extremely creative curse words. Daisuke seemed pleased by it though.)
"What the hell...?" Kamei whispered to himself as Daisuke came back with a coffee in hand and the fondest and loving look on his face.
"No fucking way," Kamei whispered, realizing what this situation was.
Teppei gave him a confused look before following his gaze and spitting his coffee.
Saeki tilted her head, "What's wrong?"
"We have a fucking simp in our division."
"Man, come to think of it-"
"Whatever you're going to say, don't say it, Shinnosuke."
"Aww, c'mon, Katou-"
"No."
"We never see Kambe-san without his coat, huh?" Katou whipped around to glare in betrayal at Saeki. She smiled and tapped her cheek, "I mean, it's quite hot in here isn't it?"
"Quite hot, she says!" Teppei grumbled, "It's drier than the damn desert!" Katou chuckled at that but put on a stern face, "It's rude to talk behind Kambe's back anyways."
Kamei sighed, "Kambe-san is so lucky to have such an attentive wife!" Haru nearly punched him but Kamei dodged just in time. He was an idiot, though, so he taunts Haru one last time, "You didn't say no to being his wife!" before Haru decked him in the face.
Meanwhile, Teppei came up with an idea. After letting Haru get a few hits in, he spoke up, "Hey, let's have a bet! Whoever can get Kambe-san to take off his coat gets 2000 yen!"
"Make it 3000!" Kamei grinned, probably because he had brain damage.
Saeki hummed, "Well, I guess that could be fun?"
"This is stupid," Haru pouted, "Whatever, I'm in."
"This is fucking impossible!" Kamei whined, Katou just rolled his eyes. Kamei tried everything from pretending to trip and pulling Daisuke's coat down, to turning the heater up. In all those times, the wealthy man didn't seem bothered at all, the only thing betraying his cool persona was the beads of sweat dripping down from his forehead, and even then, he managed to look cool.
Teppei was too lazy to try anything other than asking Daisuke to take off his jacket, Cho-san went with the same approach. Saeki tried to bribe the millionaire with gummies and sweets. However, none of their methods seemed to work!
"Why haven't you tried yet?" Teppei asked Haru.
Haru shrugged and answered with a bored hum, "It's not like I actually care. I just wanted Kamei off my back."
"Jackass," Kamei muttered under his breath, "You're just scared of losing."
That riled Haru up enough to grit his teeth and walk over to where Daisuke was sitting. The unlimited-naire looked up and straightened his posture, "Inspector Katou, what can I do for you."
In a second, Haru's demeanor changed. He pouted and faced his head down, looking up at Daisuke behind his long lashes. Daisuke's breath audibly hitched as Haru tugged at his sleeves, "Your coat, give me it."
Haru triumphantly wore his coat, wrapping it around his body.
All Kamei could do was glare at the smitten scion of the Kambe family, "Simp."
Soon, word spread of Kambe's behavior. It became an ongoing joke, "Katou has Kambe wrapped around his pretty little finger," and "Kambe is a Haru simp, huh?". Somehow, Kambe didn't hear of this, or if he did, he acted like he didn't know.
That was how it was like, until...
"Dai," Haru tapped his shoulder. Daisuke stilled, nearly clutching his chest at the cute nickname, "There's this new ramen place down the block, wanna come with?"
Daisuke nodded, "Of course." Anything you want, darling. I'll give it to you.
He reached up and tapped his earing, "HEUSC, clear my schedule."
"Understood. SIMPING: UNLIMITED."
Daisuke paused, "HEUSC, what does simp mean?"
"Simp. It's what you are, sir."
Suzue, what have you done now?
Daisuke couldn't help but stare as Haru laughed. The beautiful twinkling in his eyes, the rosy hue of his cheeks, that warm smile. And he was directing it at Daisuke, and only Daisuke. That smile was reserved for him. No money could buy the view he was seeing, no money could buy the beautiful man in front of him.
That thought scared him. There was nothing to ensure that Haru wouldn't leave him, there was no guarantee that Haru was his and only his. There wasn't a transaction or a receipt. Haru could just walk out and take Daisuke's heart with him.
Haru giggled, what a beautiful sound.
"You've been really nice to me, you know?" Haru whispered softly, a shy smile reaching his face, "Even if I'm demanding, you still go through with it. You trust my decisions, that's something no one's ever done for me before."
"No one's ever done it before? Not even Hoshino?"
Haru flinched at the name, "No, not Hoshino."
"Then," Daisuke gently held Haru's hand and placed a kiss on his knuckles, "Tell me what else no one's ever done for you. I'll make up for it."
Haru's face turned red, "Geez, idiot! Tell that to a pretty girl you like, not me!"
"Okay," He lifted his face and met Haru's eyes with a determined stare, "Tell me what else no one's ever done for you. I'll make up for it."
"I'm not a girl." Haru pouted.
"But you're even prettier than one."
"Liar!"
"No." Daisuke caressed Haru's cheek softly, like the softest wind would break his delicate skin, "I do not lie, Haru."
"Um, well, " Haru smiled nervously, "I've never been kissed before."
Daisuke smiled and connected their lips in a chaste kiss. It was nothing like the movies, where fireworks exploded in the sky or anything exciting. But that was how Daisuke always wanted it. He didn't want an action scene or explosions. He wanted calm and sweet, a kiss soft like sakura blossoms. Haru looked cute, nearly melting in Daisuke's hold.
Daisuke would protect him, no matter what. He'd do anything for this beautiful angel.
Haru whined as they pulled away. He stared at Daisuke, dazed, "Give me another one?"
I'll give you anything. I'll give you the world if you wanted to. I'll fight heaven, hell, and Earth if that's what you wanted. Just give me the word or the price, nothing is worth more than you. is what Daisuke wanted to say, but instead, he placed his hands on Haru's waist and connected their lips.
"Sir, your SIMPING levels are escalating-"
"Why do you have to ruin the mood?"
