They both agreed. It would be best to keep the fact that they were dating under wraps for the time being. This thing between them was too new, too enticing to share it with others when they had yet to fully explore it themselves. Moreover, the news that Jeong-won was staying at the hospital instead of leaving for Italy had generated sufficient excitement among the staff that layering on the news of their relationship might bring unnecessary scrutiny to Gyeo-ul’s role in his decision. Not to mention, her impending ascent to the formal role of Chief Resident for the General Surgery department and her approaching board examinations.
Yes, it would be much better to keep it quiet for now.
But that didn’t mean they couldn’t express their status as a couple discreetly for their own satisfaction.
For example, if anyone had been looking down at their shoes, they might have noticed that a snowflake had joined his little collection of charms while a leaf now featured on hers.
Or if anyone had been in their respective offices and were observant enough, they might also have spied that Jeong-won’s desk now spotted a black tumbler that was identical to the white one that Gyeo-ul regularly drank her coffee from.
And if anyone was really tracking them, they might also have realised that Jeong-won and Gyeo-ul now tended to order in or take away their food from the cafeteria and then disappear through a very particular set of emergency stairs that led towards the rooftop for a clandestine mealtime rendezvous.
But so far no one seemed none the wiser. And they planned to keep it that way.
