Chapter Text
After his big therapy session with All Might, things were going pretty good for Izuku. He talked a lot more with Dr. Ito about his past traumas and he was helping him a lot with working through his emotions and coping with his memories. The medication he gave him was helping a lot too. He wasn’t as nervous all the time and he hadn’t had a flashback or panic attack since he started taking it. It was great!
He also felt closer to not only his dads but to All Might as well. He had started opening up to them more and their relationship was getting closer every day. He was also hanging out with his friends more and getting closer to them as well. He ended up opening up to Iida and Todoroki some about his past and his therapy visits. He didn’t tell them everything, but he told them more than others knew. He finally felt like he had a real-life and a real support system. Everything was going well.
So, of course, it all went to shit a few weeks later.
Aizawa had been very adamant about keeping his dad side separate from his teacher side. In other words, he was Dad at home and Sensei at school which meant that despite Izuku being the teacher’s son he didn’t get any advantages in school. Izuku appreciated it, he wanted to earn his grades and achievements not just be handed them because of his dad.
All of that is why he was just as surprised as the rest of the class when Aizawa-sensei had announced that Thursday that they were taking a field trip. He felt himself practically vibrating with excitement when he told them they could choose to either wear their gym uniforms or their hero costumes. He ended up going with his gym uniform with some of his accessories. He sat with Todoroki on the bus.
“I wonder where we’re going?” Uraraka pondered out loud.
“Probably another training field,” Kirishima suggested.
“Maybe we’re doing some kind of volunteer work,” Mina suggested.
“I’m sure if we were volunteering Aizawa-sensei would have given us a speech about expectations and behavior before we even left,” Momo commented.
“She has a point *kero*”
“Hey, Midoriya,” Denki called from his seat, “where are we going?”
“I-I don’t know!” Izuku stammered startled at being called out so suddenly.
“You live with Sensei, didn’t he tell you what we’re doing?” Sero questioned.
“N-no, he doesn’t talk about school stuff with me outside of school, I get told things when you all do!”
“That makes sense,” Uraraka started, “Aizawa-sensei’s very adamant about fairness and all!”
“Yeah it wouldn’t be fair if Midoriya knew what was happening before everyone else,” Sato commented.
“That’s great and all, but that means we still don’t know where we are going,” Denki complained. They throw around a few more ideas before the bus pulled up in front of a dome-shaped building and Iida started directing everyone off the bus. No one listened to him as usual.
“WELCOME TO THE USJ!” The pro hero Thirteen greeted them as they entered the large building. Izuku was about to explode with excitement! He didn’t know what to focus on, Thirteen or the dozens of different disaster simulations around them. He had noticed when Dad had asked the rescue hero about All Might that they had held up three fingers. Ah, he was out of time. So it’d just be them teaching today, then.
As Thirteen was introducing herself and talking about what the USJ was for and what they would be doing that day Izuku was looking around at all the different areas around the dome-shaped building. That’s was how he noticed the strange black mist appearing in the center of the courtyard. It took about .2 seconds for Izuku to realize something bad was about to happen.
“DAD!” He yelled out pointing towards the black mist as it got larger and larger until people started stepping out. It was almost immediately apparent by their clothing and weapons that the people coming through the portal where villains. The last to step through the portal was a villain covered in disembodied hands and a hulking black beast look person. Once everyone was through the portal itself formed into a black mist shaped person.
Izuku shivered in fear at the threatening aura coming from those three.
“DAD!” Shota’s blood ran cold at the sound of Izuku’s panicked voice. He turned quickly to look where his son was pointing and felt his heart stop. There in the center of the USJ was a large black portal with villains walking through. Even the mist itself formed into a villain when everyone was through. The only thought in Shota’s head at that point was ‘protect the kids’ and more pressing ‘protect Izuku.’
“They’re villains!” He shouted out as he pulled his goggles over his head, “Thirteen get the students out of here and get back up!”
With that, he ran into the fray. He briefly acknowledged Izuku’s voice calling out for him and he could only hope that he wasn’t following him. It was clear as soon as he got to the center of the courtyard and started taking down villains that most of them were low-level thugs. Which raised the questions of what were they planning? He didn’t have much time to think about it though seeing as how he was being quickly overwhelmed by the sheer number of villains.
He hoped Thirteen had gotten the kids out.
Izuku started to panic the moment his dad ran towards the villains. He called out to him and tried to follow but Todorki was faster than he was and grabbed him around the waist and started pulling him towards the exit. He struggled some in his panic but his attention was quickly diverted when the mist villain appeared between them and the door. Todoroki let him go when he was sure he wouldn’t run after his Dad.
“My apologizes,” the villain started,” we were told All Might would be here today, mind telling me where he is?”
“Well he's not here, fucker, so get out of our way!” Kacchan yelled angrily setting off some smaller explosions in a threatening manner.
“He’s right villain,” Thirteen interrupted, “All Might isn’t here, so let the children leave.”
“I’m afraid I can’t do that,” the mist villain tsked, “you see if All Might isn’t here than we need to give him a reason to come. And what better way to do that than to threaten his students.”
At that, the black mist started swirling around them. Izuku saw Iida tackle Uraraka and Mina out of the fog and Shouji grabbed Sero and Aoyama. Before Izuku could register anything else he was falling.
