Eddie froze. “Don’t—”
But Phillip was already crouching, grabbing Buck by the arm and hauling him upright. Buck’s legs buckled instantly, his body sagging like a marionette with cut strings.
“Stand up,” Phillip snapped. “Stop being such a damn liability.”
Buck whimpered, a broken sound, and then his knees gave out completely. Phillip let go.

Buck tried to speak, but the words wouldn’t come. His head was spinning, and his vision was fading in and out. He could hear the faint sound of sirens in the distance, but they felt a million miles away.
The man growled in frustration and threw Buck back to the ground.
Buck gets beaten up by someone who is searching for his team.
