Work Text:
Katsuki slammed the door to his apartment close, leaning back on the wood as he dropped all the plastic bags he had been holding. He kicked his shoes off, closing his eyes and running his hands through blond spikes he slumped back, happy to finally be home. Taking a deep breath he exhaled with a hiss at the feeling of his bruised ribs moving. Sadly a normal injury that he had grown accustomed to coming home with. Taking a few seconds to breathe his lips twitched into a smile, hearing the muffled sound of music breaking the silence of the entryway. Slipping his shoes off he shoved them into the shoe cubby, then putting on his home slippers he took a few steps to slide the gym bag off of his back. He tossed it and with a small thump it landed on the laundry room floor so he could take care of it later. Bakugou rolled his shoulders to ease the tension from his back, relishing in the feeling of not having to lug around those heavy gauntlets anymore. Walking back to the grocery bags he picked them all up easily, moving down the hall to set them on the kitchen counter.
The blond make quick work of the bags, placing groceries into cabinets, cupboards, and the fridge with little noise. He pushed one bag to the side with a soft smile as he finished up, picking up a few scattered dishes around the room and washing them before grabbing out a homemade pre prepared bowl of food from the fridge. Taking off the cling wrap that covered the top he threw it into the microwave. As he waited for his food to warm up he walked over to the glass cabinet on the far wall, pulling out two wine glasses and a bottle from underneath. Placing them on the counter he pulled open the door of the microwave before it could beep. Grabbing a pair of chopsticks he sat down at the breakfast bar to eat as he scrolled through his phone.
Bakugou finished the food quickly, leaving the dishes in the sink he picked up the wine bottle again. Pouring two glasses he re-corked it and put it back for safekeeping before grabbing the last plastic bag sitting on the counter and a wine glass in each hand. Finally he made his way down the small hallway the music was coming from, he smiled as the music got louder and louder until he stood in front of the bathroom door. The blond pushed the door open with his foot. He was greeted with the sight of his beautiful wife relaxing in the tub, e/c eyes looking up at him.
“Thought I would find you here,”The blond mused, setting down both of the wine glasses on the bathroom counter before leaning over to turn down the portable speaker until it was just background music to his own words.
“Am I that predictable?” Y/n asked, tilting her head back to watch her husband walk closer to her and lean over the water to give her a soft kiss on the lips.
“Well,” Bakugou started, setting down the plastic bag beside the tub, “Every sunday you get out of bed, sit and read on the couch for an hour or two with your coffee as you wake up. Then you get dressed and clean the apartment before doing meal prep for the rest of the week and making dinner because you never feel like cooking after work or when it’s late at night.” As he talked Katsuki moved the two glasses of wine over to the side of the bathtub, leaning over again to kiss y/n. “Am I right so far?”
With a giggle y/n leaned into the kiss, feeling his slight stubble prickle at her skin, “Yes, you are.”
“Good,” Standing back up he began to undress, sending a wink to y/n as her eyes followed his movements. “After you prep dinner you eat a late lunch, change again into workout clothes, then workout for… around two hours. After working out you jump into the shower to wash off all the sweat then you fill the bathtub to relax.”
Y/n watched each of his movements with a soft smile on her face, scooching forward in the tub at her husband’s prompt. She let him sit behind her, his strong thighs coming to rest beside her hips as he wrapped his arms around her middle, pulling her back to rest against his chest so he could rest his chin on top of her head. His large body successfully caging her in and making goosebumps ripple across her body.
“I’m impressed,” y/n spoke softly, trailing her fingers lightly up and down his arm, “you got everything down perfectly.”
“Shh, I never said I was done speaking.”
“Ok, ok, continue then.”
“I was going to anyway, Idiot. Anyway, what I was going to say before I was so rudely interrupted was that you always use a bath bomb and a facemask while you're in the bath and last time I checked you didn't have any left.” With a smirk he leaned over the side of the tub, tugging the plastic bag closer to him so he could properly grab the stuff out of it.
“You didn’t-”
“Don’t interrupt me, missy.” The blond teased as he pulled two face masks out of the bag and handed them to y/n before pulling out a large bath bomb a few seconds later. “So I bought you some more on the way home today. I also ordered some of your favorites online for the next couple of weeks.”
With a large smile y/n turned and tilted her head back to share a long kiss with her husband, “Are you going to do a facemask with me?”
“Tch, why do you think you’re holding two, dumbass.” He teased again, before leaning in to share another kiss with her. “Now open those things while I figure out how to open this up.”
Y/n quickly did as he asked, she turned around to sit in his lap facing him, her knees on either side of his hips. Katsuki quickly opened the bath bomb before tossing it to the other side of the tub, watching it bubble and begin to spread its color to the surrounding water before turning all of his attention to the woman in his lap. Closing his eyes he rested his head on the tile behind him, letting his wife spread the paste onto his skin, he let his hands fall to rest on her hips, rubbing small soothing circles with his thumbs.
“You’re amazing,” y/n breathed out, washing her hands off in the water once she was done before trailing them up her husband’s chest to rub at his wide shoulders.
Cracking one eye open Bakugou smiled coyly, “I know.”
“No, I mean it Katsuki.” At her serious tone he opened both of his eyes to watch her, her eyes were locked onto her hands as they worked his shoulders, her eyebrows pinched together. “You’re so strong and so kind to me. You’re the best husband that anyone could ask for and tonight confirms it. And all those shitty reporters that try to say anything different are such bullshit and can go fuck themselves.”
Her hands rubbed harder, working out the knots created by the stressful week, y/n sunk so she was chest to chest with the pro hero, looking him in the eyes, “So many people look up to you and so many more are jealous of all the things you have accomplished through hard work. You always help so many people, save so many civilians, it’s amazing, you’re amazing.”
Leaning down Katsuki connected their lips, effectively shutting her up. They slowly broke apart, a soft smile on both of their lips. Kissing her on the forehead Bakugou spoke, “Thank you, princess, and yes, I know. It’s not like you tell me every day or something.”
“Hey-!”
“Jees, what is it with you and interrupting me today. Now shut your face so I can put this shitty facemask on you.”
Grabbing back onto his shoulders y/n closed her eyes, enjoying Bakugou’s warm, calloused fingertips brush across her cheeks. “Stop smiling so damn much! I can’t put this shit on you correctly if you keep maken’ a face like that.”
“Alright, alright, I’ll stop.” A comfortable silence fell over the two, filled by the soft music that played in the background. Once Katsuki was finished with y/n’s facemask she turned around and sat back between his legs, laying back onto the blond’s wide chest.
“How long do we have to keep this shit on our face?” Katsuki asked, picking up y/n’s phone that sat beside the tub, opening it up to set a timer.
The h/c girl hummed, picking up her wine glass to take a sip before she responded, “20 minutes if we want full use of them.”
“Corse we fucken’ do, people who buy shit then not use it fully are stupid.”
Y/n basked in the warm water for a few minutes letting her eyes slip close before she spoke again, “Soooo… It’s a wine kinda day is it?”
“If you don’t fucken want it I can put it back.”
“No! Nonono, not at all. It’s just that you never drink wine, did you have a bad week?”
Bakugou sighed, letting his head rest on the wall behind him, “How the hell can you always tell, woman?”
Y/n laughed, leaning up to place a soft kiss on the hero’s jawline, “I might be the predictable one, baby, but you have your tell-tale signs for things. I’m sorry but we’ve been together long enough for us to pick up on things, like how you’ve memorized my schedule apparently.”
“Fucken’-” He let out a sigh into the warm air, closing his eyes, “Yeah, I had a hard week, fucking interns can’t do shit, they’re annoying as hell too.”
Y/n hummed in conformation but didn’t dare interrupt, getting Bakugou to open up was still a hard thing to do, even after so many years. She had quickly learned that shutting up was the best option.
“Had to pair up with shitty half an’ half too. He doesn’t piss me off as much as he used to but today he seemed to have it out for me. He even iced the ground beneath my feet! He knows how to handle his fucking quirk better then that and he still insisted that it was an accident, 'corse shitty Deku took his side too.”
She brought his hand up from around her waist to kiss his palm, the soft movement making Bakugou open his eyes to peer down at the h/c girl in his lap. Mumbling into his palm, loud enough for him to hear, y/n continued to place kisses on the skin, “None of that matters anymore. You're here, with me, we can relax and you have the day off tomorrow so you don't have to think about hero work. And you can relax knowing I'm proud of you and that you're such a good hero dealing with all of those extras.”
A low chuckle rumbled through the blond’s chest. He used the hand the y/n still held to her face to turn her head to the side so he could kiss her lips. “You really know how to play me like a fiddle don’tcha.”
They both relaxed back into the warm water, hands drifting together under the water, a small assurance that the other is there and that they’re not going anywhere.
“I try.”
