    The Hallowe'en party was something of a tradition in the LA legal community. Miles Edgeworth had always found a reason not to go, but this year, he was considering attending.

    It was simple, really, when he thought about it: he was two days out from one of his and Phoenix's semi-annual, enormous, this-is-over-between-us-I'm-serious-this-time fights, the make-believe break-ups that he was getting so weary of enduring.

    He just wanted to be someone else for a night.
