Chapter Text
"So, let me get this straight; you dug up a random body in the cemetery, a private cemetery to be exact! To what again? Ah, yes. To wake the poor soul from its slumber. Are you on crack, Izuku?" Mei ranted as she shook her body.
Well, she didn't mean to dug up the body. She was just curious. Besides, it's for her study. They have a project so she wants some reference, at least.
"I'm lonely, Mei. I want someone to stand by me." Izuku reasoned out.
Mei let out a frustrated groan. "I'm always here for you, you imbecile! Why did you dug up such person? Is this even legal? Are you on drugs, Izuku? You're a creep, you irrational, dunce! This guy," Mei pointed the corpse of the person she dug up on her bed. "Is dead and has a family. He was just buried yesterday, his family is going to freak out once they noticed that their dead relative was dug out of it's grave for some dumb shit study. Why did you do that?!"
"I have reasons, okay?" Izuku voiced out because Mei wouldn't take this seriously. Being the socially loud person her best friend is, things will just swell up. I mean, I shouldn't have told her this. I could've told this to Ochako or Tsu but they'll freak out. Yaomomo could've known this first but she'll tell tell this to Jirou, too. I couldn't tell this to Kacchan because hel'll be pissed and probably explode. Tooru will know this for sure, that girl has issues. Kirishima and Kaminari? Well, at least they'll understand the situation but I bet Eijirou will freak out first before understanding the thing. I can't share this to Iida because he'll go berserk and go on full throttle once again. There's no option, really. Am I just playing safe? I guess, no. I told this thing to Mei, that's enough point to know that I am not playing it safe. Why is this so problematic? Why did I do this? This is so messed up, please stop this. I don't know what to do, will Mei scold be big time? Well, yeah, she's already scolding me now, but—
"You're mumbling again, you damned broccoli! What are your reasons, huh? Because, Izuku, this is so messed up. I don't even know what you're thinking anymore. Are you a psychopath or something? Geez, you problematic idiot. You retarded snug, why can't you do anything normal anymore? Look at what you've done! There's no valid reason for this, you crackhead stringbean. What if old man Aizawa found this out? You're a dead ass bitch, Izuku. I want to strangle you, believe me. I have reasons." Mei blurted out. She's so loud and Izuku doesn't want the others to know about this little stunt she pulled off.
Izuku knows that what she did was fucking crazy. She's deprived of love, goddamnit. The whole study thing was just an excuse for her craziness. She's not on drugs, though. She's a future hero, she can't do drugs. That's messed up. Oh, come on, Izuku. Digging up a random person isn't that messed up for you? Damn you.
"This was random, right? I'm going to peek. I don't want you to ogle some old dead bitch." Mei said and turned to face her bed.
Actually, Izuku didn't look at the corpse. All she know is it's a boy. She's afraid to look.
"You got yourself a pretty boy, Izuku. He's handsome."
"What?" Izuku quirked then approached her bed.
Mei was right. He has dual colored hair. Red on the left and white on the right. His left eye has a scar originating from his scalp down to the mid section of his nose. Long lashes and pinkish thin lips. Izuku's guessing that it's from the makeup the specialist applied to the corpse to make him look presentable. But, still, he's still handsome. He doesn't look pale, he looks astonishing for a dead person.
“Come to think of it, he looks familiar,” Mei said as she examined the corpse she bought inside Class-1A’s dorm.
Well, he is handsome, Izuku thought. The dual colored male poked her interest hardly enough. Not that she cared, though. As she said, this is for her study purposes that she doesn’t plan on saying to her classmates. Izuku’s not secretive. She just needed to hide this for awhile and everything will be back to normal, right? Yeah, she’s screwed.
“Well, looky here. Little Izuku got herself a pretty boy. Feeling lucky yet?” Mei said as she ruffled the male corpse’s bi-colored hair. Izuku’s panicking and she wants to calm down right away. She doesn’t want the rest of Class-1A to freak out because of her craziness. She doesn’t want to humiliate All Might, she doesn’t want to disappoint her insomniac teacher Aizawa Shouta. Things are already worse as it is. It’s making her crazy. This is not the time for her to craze over her idiocy. She needs to think. Oh, for fucks sake.
Izuku heard a snap before seeing a flash of light originating from Mei’s phone.
“What were you doing?” Izuku asked the pink-haired teen holding her phone while giggling. This girl has issues.
“I took a photo. Such a shame that with such pretty face, comes in death in an early age. Luckily I’m not pretty. But, you, little Izuku, is reckless enough to get killed in hindsight. You’re lucky that you’re still alive at this point. You want me to make another baby to keep you safe? I can start making now—”
“There’s no need for that, Mei.” Izuku stated at her friend who’s already thinking of another invention. Now she remembers why she told this to Mei first.
Dang, Izuku, you damn user.
Mei whined. “Why? ‘Zuku, just let me help, you damn nerd!”
“You sound like Kacchan.” Izuku said then rolled her eyes.
“Really? He should be flattered, then.” Mei said and then quirked her head away from the corpse. Her friend had the luxury of feeling the young man’s bi-colored hair. As much as Izuku wants to touch its hair, she can’t. Well, yeah, you can’t. You have plans on taking him back to life, you already violated his non-living life, Izuku.
“What are your plans, then? Because I know for sure that this isn’t for a mere study only. Why would Aizawa-sensei assign you guys with this kind of assessment? He’s not coocoo, isn’t he?”
Izuku laughed nervously. This would be a problem if Dadzawa found this out. He’ll call her problem child again; and this time, she’s on her own. No one knew about this except for Mei. No Ochako to vouch for her, no Iida to talk for her. And definitely no Kacchan to blame. I am the one to blame for this, damn it.
“Sadly, no.”
Mei sighed then patted her back. “Well, I better get going to help you out. I’ll make one thing, for sure. I’ll hand it out to you tomorrow. I examined the corpse already, it isn’t going to decay yet. He has some kind of chemicals injected inside him. He’s rich, why didn’t they cremated him instead?”
Izuku snorted then distanced herself from the corpse. She’s still afraid to touch it.
“Why are you asking me that? I don’t know— wait. How did you know that he’s rich?” Izuku shot a glance at Mei.
Mei tensed and looked at Izuku. “Wait, you don’t know him? Dang, Izuku, are you really this clueless?”
Izuku grunted. “That’s why I’m asking you, Mei. Just tell me already.”
Mei laughed. “Hold up, let me laugh. This is just so funny.”
“Laugh all you want. I just want you to answer me, damn it.”
“Woah, in the name of All Might, calm your quirk, ‘Zuku. I’ll answer your fuss. Just wait.” Mei said and flopped down on the floor just beside her bed.
“He’s Endeavor’s son, Todoroki Shouto.”
Izuku’s eyes widened. Wait, I dug up a body of a hero’s son? You got yourself in trouble, Izuku. You dumb broccoli, why are you so dumb?! How come she didn’t know? Because you’re so dumb, stupid!
“Surely, there’s a name on his tombstone, you dumb fuck. How come you’re on your class’ 4th place when it comes to wit but you’re still dumb as shit? Do you want me to call that blonde boom boom fuck to give you your daily dose of shitty nerd and shitty deku talk? Oh, Bakugou—”
“Mei, no.”
Mei snickered. “You can duel with that match stick spiky fucker when it comes to stupidity, Izuku,” She said, pertaining to Kirishima. Izuku grimaced, Eijirou isn’t dumb, though. “Square up. You’re just nervous, that’s all. I’ll leave now, see you tomorrow!” Mei said and stood up, exiting her dorm room.
Izuku’s in daze. Why did she did this again? Oh, yes. She has her own issues with herself and decided to drag a dead person to deal with her problem. And, guess what; it’s a son of a freaking hero. The number two hero! Even All Might wouldn’t agree with her madness. Such successor she is. She’s a disappointment, useless, as Kacchan would say.
She looked up at the poor body laying on her bed. Izuku sighed, smoke coming out from her mouth. She’ll open her heater later on. It’s already December and they’re preparing for their Christmas celebration. And, damn her, what a good holiday this is. She screwed up, big time.
Aside from inheriting One For All from All Might, she has another quirk; a regeneration quirk in which she can revive a dead person or simply heal one individual if she touches them. It wasn’t really flashy, she could say that. She admired her quirk back then but she thinks that it wasn’t suitable for combat— unlike Kacchan’s quirk. She’s scared if they were in an actual battle, she may heal the villain by accident. She doesn’t want that to happen. It’ll be such a shame. That’s why she refrains herself from activating her real power. She just can’t bare another dire mistake.
“Dinner’s ready!” Izuku heard Yaomomo’s announcement from downstairs. She sighed once again then got up, slightly puffing while dusting her sweatpants.
She’ll just keep this normal. She’ll try her best to not get suspicious around her classmates; especially to Kacchan.
“Oi, Deku.”
Izuku flinched as she heard a nickname that she’s been hearing since then. Thinking about her childhood, it made her sick. Constant bullying, scars, and of course, explosions. Calm own, Midoriya, it’s just Kacchan. You can handle him.
Still facing ahead, Izuku didn’t respond as Katsuki approached her. Oh, God. Not now, please.
“Are you deaf? Fucking respond, you damn nerd.” Katsuki said as he stopped in front of her.
Wearing his usual black tank top and baggy pants, Katsuki halted her steps.
“Bakugou-kun.” Izuku said, lowering her head.
Izuku can’t blame herself. She’s traumatized, she’s shaking. She’s been avoiding Katsuki as much as she could. She doesn’t want any interactions, she’s still afraid of facing him.
“Hah? Where did the stupid nickname you always call me go?” Katsuki asked, growling on the process.
Izuku sighed, “I figured that you don’t want to be called with such childish name. I’ll s-stop calling you that.” She hastily said and walked passed him.
“Damn it, Deku, that ain’t a reason. I want to ask you something so you better stop quaking and answer me.”
Izuku stopped walking. She heard Katsuki scoffed then asked her, “Why was that pink-haired user in your room awhile ago?”
Izuku shifted her gaze and lifted her feet, not wanting to answer the blonde’s question. She was simply keeping it safe and avoiding the teen herself. Palms shaking, she walked down for dinner, leaving Katsuki behind with a sad crooked smile.
Izuku chewed her food unusually slow. Ochako looked at her worriedly, elbowing Asui in the process.
“Izu-chan, are you alright?” Tsu asked her.
Suddenly, all of her classmates shifted their gaze at the greenette.
“Yeah, Midoriya. You looked bothered.” Kirishima then said, dropping his utensils.
Yaomomo looked at her with a worried face. “Izuku, if you’re not feeling good, you should head to sleep now.”
Tokoyami cleared his throat. “I can already smell death on you, Midoriya-kun.”
Izuku stilled. D-death? Oh, no. Did Tododroki’s scent hugged me?
“Hey, that’s too harsh, Tokoyami!” Denki said then smacked Fumikage’s head.
“Oui, Izuku-chan. You should rest. You look really stressed and bothered, ma cherrie.” Aoyama beamed at her.
Izuku felt her legs shaking under the table. Yeah, good job on being lowkey, Midoriya. Good work.
She heard Kacchan grunt then he got up from his seat, red eyes eyeing her emerald ones.
“Hey, Bakubro, where are you going?” Eijirou asked.
“None of your business, Shitty Hair.” He said then left the dining area.
Izuku shifted on her seat. She felt a palm on her forehead; it was Ochako’s.
“You’re burning up, Deku!” She exclaimed.
All of her classmates rushed around her accompanied by Iida’s warnings.
“Calm down, everyone. We shouldn’t be rounding up around a sick person. It will only make things worse.”
Yaomomo approached her and gave her some meds. She shouldn’t have exerted effort and use her quirk for me. I’m not that important—
“Oh, shush, Izuku. Who told you that?” Momo said with teary eyes.
“So, that’s been bothering you, huh?” Kirishima stood beside her.
“Oh, Izu-chan.” Mina cooed then hugged her.
“I’ll call Aizawa-sensei for you to get checked up by Recovery Girl, someone please escort Midoriya to her room. She needs to rest.” Iida announced as he walked out to call their teacher.
Izuku chuckled slightly. “This is just a fever, guys. Don’t mind me.”
“Yeah, it’s just fever.” Mineta said while looking at her chest.
Tsuyu had the luxury to smack Mineta hard while Sero taped him to one corner.
“Now that that’s settled, Izuku, you can now rest.” Tokoyami stated.
Kaminari screeched, “Why are you making it sound like she’s going to die? What’s wrong with you, dude?”
Jirou laughed so hard while Momo started lecturing them. Izuku smiled then got up from her seat.
“Wait, Midoriya—”
“I can handle myself just fine, Kaminari. You guys don’t need to worry.” She smiled and continued walking.
Izuku puffed a sigh of relief. The body is still inside her room. It would be such a shame for them to know what she did. Damn her.
When she reached her floor, she noticed that her room door is slightly open. It rocked a nervous beat inside Izuku’s system. Wha— how is it open?! I’m sure as hell that I locked it!
With sweaty palms, she made her way towards her room. Her heart is already beating so hard that it can break through her. Oh, God. I’m so stupid.
She pushed the door open, welcomed by a cold breeze of air and one certain blonde standing near her bed.
“K-kacchan—”
“What the fuck, Izuku?!”
