Chapter Text

"ok students settle down, today we are going to be learning a new type of magic called fusion magic, we are going to be taking two objects and fusing them together. Everybody get into groups of two and I will give an example of how this is supposed to work." said principal Bump.

"Hey Amity! Let's team up!" Luz yelled

Amity looks back and forth quickly"me?" she asks hesitantly

"who else would I be talking to silly?"

"Uhh...sure let's team up." she says blushing.

"Yes!!! I knew I could count on you!" Luz runs up to Amity and gives her a big hug

Amity starts blushing like crazy.

"All right let's get to our station and wait for principal bump to show us how we're going to be doing this ." She grabs Amity by the hand and drags her over to their station.

'Oh my gosh I cant believe it, shes holding my hand!!!' Amity thought to herself.

Principal bump spins his finger in a circle. "Okay students in front of you there is now two randomly chosen objects for you to practice fusion magic on, in order to use fusion magic you must concentrate on both items at once imagine that they are one and they are whole... now BEGIN!!!" he exclaimed.

"This'll be easy." said amity as she started to cast it.

"so how does it work?" Luz asks jumping in front of amity.

Amity gets startled and loses focus, the spell then hits Luz and Amity being the caster fuses with her.

There is a blinding flash of light and standing where Luz and Amity just were is now a completely new girl. Lumity!

As their bodies fuse and their minds become one, their memories are played in fast forward for each other the see Luz in her room editing music to anime clips and then her chasing Owlbert leading to the portal of the boiling isles, it flashes to amity and every time she blushed around Luz and her journal entry admitting that she has feelings for "The Human"

They now know everything that there is to know about each other and a second later principal bump has separated them telling them that "that was very foolish and dangerous and they should not have done that!"

"..."

"I know what you think of me...I didn't really think about it that way before but I'm willing to try if you are. So you uh wanna go on a date with me sometime maybe?" Luz asked amity.

"yes!" she yelled.

Amity rushes over to Luz and kisses her on the cheek no longer caring what anyone thinks about her.

One week later…

“Oh my gosh what am I gonna wear?” Amity said to herself.
“I need to wear something good, I mean this is gonna be our first date. I can’t show up looking like I didn't even try to look good for her. Oh! This'll work”

Meanwhile on the other side of Amity's door

“Oh she has a date!” Emira whisper shouted
“Wait did she say ''her”? As in she's going out with a girl.”asked Edric
“Wow the whole family is gay! I wasn't expecting that.”
“What do you mean the whole familys gay? I like girls!” Edric proclaimed
“sure you do, so I guess I didn't see you and Jerbo kissing under the bleachers last week then.”
“I uh… what ar-”

All of a sudden the door was yanked open and the two of them fell on their faces.

“What do you two think you’re doing?” Amity asked angrily

“I wasn't doing anything” Emira said “it was all his idea”
“It was not!” Edric said indignantly.

“Whatever losers, I'm going out, I'll be back later.” Amity said

“So who do you think it is?” asked Edric after Amity left.
“Wow. even I could figure that out, it’s Luz! She's always getting nervous and acting strange around her, It has to be Luz.`` Emira said. “And nice try, you're not getting out of that conversation so easily, we'll continue that later.”
“Should we spy on her?”
“Do you really need to ask that question?”

Meanwhile…

“Hey Eda, so I was just wondering...if I were hypothetically going on a date what should I be bringing?”

“You're going on a date!” Eda exclaimed. “Who's the lucky guy? Nevermind, nice going kiddo here's some snails. Be back before midnight.” Eda said while pushing Luz out the door. “Go get 'em kid!”

“Why are you trying to get rid of her all of a sudden?” King asked after the door closed.
“Are you kidding, this is her first date?! She can't afford to be late!”
“Also I'm pretty sure she's dating that green haired girl not a guy” said king. “Oh...whoops” said eda “well Im sure she'll figure it out she's my kid after all.”

Amity arrived at the coffee shop right as Luz did.

“Hey Amity!” Luz said as she skipped up to her.
“Oh, hey Luz are you ready to go in?”
“yeah! Have you thought about what you want?” Luz asked. “Yeah I was gonna get the Reapers wheat bagel with scream cheese and the Griffon Wing espresso, what were you gonna get Luz?”
“umm... I guess I'll just have what you're having.”
Luz and Amity walked into the coffee shop aptly named Bean There Cafe and sat down.

Meanwhile outside...

Edric and Emira were hiding in the bushes across the street from the Bean There Cafe.

“Hey! Give me the binoculars, it's my turn.” whined Edric
“What! You were literally just using them a minute ago, it's my turn not yours!”
“Yeah but like, I wanna see what's happening.”
“Well you'll just have to wait your turn like a normal person.” Emira said while shoving him aside.
“You realize none of what we're doing is “normal” right?”
“Shut up, they got their food, aww they're sharing a scream cheese bagel.”

“So luz,” Amity said while reaching for her half of the bagel they decided to share “as you know... I like you... a lot and so umm I was wondering where you wanted to go from here.”
“Well I've never really thought about dating a girl until the other day, and well we kinda peeked into each others minds when I messed up that spell as well as... you know, that kiss you gave me.” she said, touching her cheek. “I'm willing to try this if you are.”
“YES!!!” Amity squealed in delight
“You wanna get outta here?” Luz asked. “I have a place I want to bring you.”

Some time later...

“Luz where are we going?” chuckled Amity after almost stumbling for the eighth time.
Luz peeled her hands off of Amity's face giggling
“Okay you can open your eyes now” she said.
Amity opened her eyes to reveal that she was on a cliff, a magnificent pink tree stood before her.
“It's where we defeated Grometheus together remember?”
“Oh Luz I haven't been here since that night, man this tree has really flourished here.” she said with wonder in her eyes at its truly magnificent size. “Luz... thank you. Ca-can I kiss you?”
“Umm... yes.”

And they kissed and it was wonderful and all was right with the world.

Until Edric fell out of the tree

“Ow”
