Work Text:
It had been the most fabulous night.
You and your boyfriend Elliott had just gotten back from an evening full of drinking, dancing, and feasting at the annual Pelican Town harvest festival. The other townsfolk had been pleased to see you come as a couple, seeing as it isn’t often that romance blossoms in such a small town. The two of you had a merry time listening to the band, enjoying each other’s company, and sampling the home-grown fruits of the valley’s bountiful harvest.
Four slices of pie and however many bottles of cider later, it soon became clear that it was time to head home. While Elliott was normally a reserved, well-spoken gentleman, he tended to let himself go after a few too many drinks. You held his hand all the way home, grinning as he hiccuped, not bothering to fix his long, luscious hair as he so often did. He looked so cute smiling like that, his rosy cheeks matching the hue of his best suit. As the two of you approached your farmhouse, it became apparent that both of you needed a long, well deserved rest after such a night of merriment. After stumbling across the threshold of your bedroom, the two lovebirds flopped onto the bed in sync.
“Thank you again for letting me stay at your place, love...” *hic!*
“Oh it’s no problem at all!” You smiled. “I always love spending time with you.”
“Mmmhm.”
The poet sighed in agreement and planted a small kiss on your forehead. Suddenly, he began to giggle.
“What, did I do something?”
“Ah, nothing!” Elliott beamed. “You’re just... so beautiful.”
You felt your cheeks grow hot as you rolled your eyes. Elliott was never the type to keep his love secret. He was always commenting on how radiant your eyes were, how you reminded him of a resplendent spring flower, all sorts of poetic lovey-dovey stuff. But tonight, the look on his face seemed... different. Perhaps it was the cider talking.
As he held you in his arms, his unkempt hair draping down your shoulders, you felt his stomach tense as a growl from his middle projected through the room. Elliott hummed sweetly, running his hand through your hair.
“Sounds like I could use some more dessert, what do you think, darling?”
You playfully poked your finger into his chest. “Elliott, you ate almost half the pumpkin pie tonight. How could you possibly still be hungry?”
“Ah, I always find a way to make room...”
Elliott was beaming, obviously still affected by the bliss of the alcohol and feasting. The way he looked at you with such intense longing, it made you feel a way you’d never felt before. And was that... drool on the corner of his lips? Maybe you were imagining things. For a second, it seemed like... he was hungry for you. Oh dear.
There was no getting out of it now, of no fault of anyone’s but your own. Saying no to Elliott’s puppy-dog eyes proved to be more difficult than any challenge the mines had ever thrown at you. The way he cooed over you with a twinkle in his eye and a blush on his cheeks... It was all too familiar. You had never done this with... actual food in there before, but it seemed like at this point you had no choice. You smiled sheepishly as he gently cupped your cheek with half-lidded eyes.
“I’m sorry my dearest, but... I simply can’t go without a second course. And you look so heavenly tonight~”
Ah, the way he tried to stay composed even when he couldn’t control his gluttonous urges. It was quite endearing.
“I- *hic* I love you so much, Love...”
“I love you too, Elliott.”
And with that, he eagerly leaned forward, locking his lips around yours. The passionate kiss quickly turned into more of a slobber as he lost himself in the lingering cinnamon on your lips.
Perhaps it was your junimo magic. Or perhaps it was something else altogether. You’d observed a number of otherworldly phenomena during your time in the valley, but the way your body always felt so small as he kissed you was a sensation unlike any you’d felt before. But ever since the day you discovered it, you’d grown accustomed to the feeling. The shrinking sensation felt just the same as the first time the two of you spent the night together. And the time after that, and the time after that… How much time had passed since the last time you’d done this? Certainly too long.
His spiced breath radiated against your face as somehow, against everything that should be possible, he began to pull your tiny body into his mouth. A task which became easier as you felt him lift you up by the hips and into the air, letting gravity aid him as he gently ran his fingers across your back.
The forest hummed as you felt him take the first swallow.
His heart pounded fast next to your head, matching the beat of your own. It took only a few moments for the last of your legs to disappear beyond his lips with a murmur of content. Seconds later, your lower half joined you in his stomach. At last, he had all of you tucked impossibly away inside his body. The smell of alcohol and pumpkin permeated the cramped space, which much like Elliott, took no time in giving you a “welcome back” hug. As you rolled your body into a more comfortable position, a muffled belch and an apology rumbled from somewhere above your head.
“Agh, my darling, I’m terribly sorry… but you were exquisite.”
The feeling of having not only a delicious feast, but his own partner tucked away inside of him was enough to reduce Elliott to a sappy, blushing mess. He caressed a hand over his stomach with a chuckle and pressed into it gently, feeling your form wiggling inside. This was absolute bliss. His ministrations pushed up yet another pocket of air, once again tasting your sweet flavor on his tongue. In normal circumstances Elliott would never dream of doing something so uncouth, especially not with a witness. But tonight he didn’t care. It was too good of a feeling to stifle.
Punctuated by an over-dramatic yawn, your world shifted as Elliott flopped onto his back, splashing the remains of the feast all over your face. It was... not ideal, you’d be honest. But hearing your boyfriend’s contented sighs and knowing you’d filled him up to the brim... you had to admit, the thought was quite nice. You stretched out your hand, massaging circles into the nearest “outside” wall just the way you knew he liked it. A satisfied murmur from above let you know he appreciated it greatly. Though his belly had gotten what it wanted, a sudden, drawn out gurgle caused the both of you to startle and laugh in unison. It was the very same warm and hospitable chuckle that had you falling for him on the very first day you had met at the saloon. It was the sort of laugh that you didn’t mind feeling as well as hearing once in a while.
“Hear that? That’s the sound of a very happy and full tummy, my Love… all thanks to you.”
For the next few minutes, his insides continued to emit the occasional burble. No doubt his stomach was attempting in vain to process the sudden addition to his supper. But you had no doubt in your mind that he’d keep you safe, it was a special talent of his. Or maybe yours, you weren’t really sure. To be tucked away inside your boyfriend’s stomach… it was insane, but you wouldn’t trade this feeling for the world. The way it kneaded into you, his heartbeat all around your body… It wasn’t the most conventional means to stave away the feelings of loneliness, sure. But with a little magic, two strange souls could find peace just about anywhere in the Valley. Yawning, you curled up into him. It had been a long night, and you both desperately needed some sleep.
“Get a good night’s rest, El.” You whispered, nuzzling into the spot closest to his heart. “You’re gonna need it.”
But judging by the sound of his snores, he was already fast asleep.
