Work Text:
Khun rubbed the bridge of his nose, dreading the fact that he had to pair with someone yet again for their research. Pairing? And for what? When I’ll be the only one doing it? He thought to himself, thinking of an excuse that he can do the research on his own, because let’s face it, he’s that smart.
Too bad that it was a requirement, and he doesn’t even have an option to choose.
“... And Khun Aguero Agnes is with Jyu Viole Grace.”
Wait.
Wait wait wait wait wait.
Wait the fuck up.
Jyu Viole Grace, the infamous yet smart half-vampire?
“Ohh.. fuck me..” Khun sank in his seat, his mood worsening. He took a glance at the vampire, golden orbs already looking back at him, and Aguero couldn’t distinguish his expression. Suddenly, the brunette smiled, fangs showing. Khun felt shivers down his spine, looking away.
When class ended for the day, Viole suddenly appeared right in front of Khun. “Hey,” he smiled,
“when do you plan-”
“not interested.” Aguero stood up,
“but you’re my-”
"didn’t ask.” Khun interjected as much as he could, trying to avoid those terrifyingly honest, golden eyes.
“... I can do it myself.” The bluenette said before he walked away, trying his best to not feel guilty. “... But I heard you always do the presentations yourself, with your past partners taking the credit.” Viole walked up in front of Aguero, his bright smile almost blinding Khun.. “I wanna help.” He persuaded.
Khun stared at the brunette, sighing in defeat. He waved his hand dismissively, "fine, fine. Meet me at the café nearby campus after your class." And so he walked out to his next class, furiously blushing at the thought of finally working with someone after years of doing everything alone, and a vampire at that; how ridiculous.
He wanted to avoid the vampire at all cost, but this was needed for their project. “Goddamn it..” Aguero cursed to himself, putting his coffee down on the table. He shook his foot in annoyance, anticipation slowly building up every single time the door rings open.
What am I waiting for? He’s late. The bluenette frowned, resting his chin on his palm. Before he put his laptop down, the door flung open, revealing a breathless Jyu Viole Grace. His golden gaze quickly landed on Khun, walking up to him and sitting down. “Oh my god, I am so sorry.” He breathlessly said, gripping on his chest.
“Professor took his precious time..” Viole continued, taking his laptop out. Khun couldn’t help but look at Viole’s sweat trickling down from his jaw, to his pale neck. He gulped, cobalt eyes quickly looking at his own laptop. “Didn’t ask,” he furrowed his brows, trying to focus on the screen right before him.
“Let's start?” Viole asked, softly smiling at Khun. The latter cleared his throat, nodding and explaining what was needed to do.
Okay so, Viole was actually helpful, and somehow, they're in his house. Khun didn't know what happened, but either way, he just wanted to finish this in one day.
"You're doing good, Grace." Khun peeked over the vampire's shoulder, seeing that their report was almost finished. Now all they needed to do was make a presentation and edit.
Viole looked at Khun, smiling widely. "You can call me Bam."
"Bam?" Khun tested, slightly smiling at the brunette. Bam brightened up, his smile never fading away. "My friends call me that! And I much prefer it than Viole." He cheerily replied, facing back to his laptop and continuing to type down the research.
Khun hummed, continuing to look at the vampire. "Your dad.. -" "foster." Bam corrected, focused on the report. "Ah, sorry, but is he a vampire, too? he seemed like he wanted to devour me."
The brunette choked out a laugh, giggling right after. "Yes, Jinsung is a vampire. He adopted me as soon as my mom and dad passed away." He maintained a smile, looking at his keyboard.
"Ah.. right, sorry," Khun rubbed his nape as silence filled the room.
And curiosity got the best of him.
"Who's… human?" Khun was hesitant, afraid that he might have opened up a sensitive conversation.
Bam hummed, looking up as if in thought. "... My dad was human, and mom was a vampire…" his golden gaze looks at the bluenette, huffing. "I guess you could say I'm an irregular."
Khun cringed at that, nevertheless, he chuckled, and he noticed that the brunette gleamed. He covered his mouth, looking away with a blush.
".. What's with you beaming everytime I smile..?" He asked, brows furrowing, gaze looking away from the vampire in front of him.
"I just like it when you smile." Bam simply replied, slightly shrugging.
" Viole. " Khun warned,
"it's Bam , Aguero." The brunette teased.
"Hey! You have no right to call me Aguero." His face reddened furiously, and Bam laughed cheekily.
"... Just get to work, I wanna get this over with.." Aguero mumbled, typing down on his laptop.
Everything was quite sudden, actually. Now that they've finished their presentation in advance, all they had to do was edit. Bam drove Aguero to the Khun residence so they could end the day with a rest.
"Hey," Bam called before Khun could get out, taking his phone out. "Can I have your number? For… research purposes."
… And here we are. Aguero laid down on his bed, face first. He was so tired after being teased by Bam all day. That cheeky bitch… he thought, slightly smiling at the thought of Bam's golden eyes, and lips ever so soft that hid a blinding smile.
Wait.
What?
Khun stopped, eyes widened. "Holy fuck…" he blushed, taking a pillow and almost suffocating himself with it. He screamed loudly into his pillow and raised his head up, bedroom door creaking open.
".. too loud." Ran complained, walking inside and plopping on Khun's bed. "Was that your boyfriend?" He interrogated, gaze burning holes into Aguero.
The bluenette groaned, laying his face back down on the pillow. "Hmsn'tmboyfrien" he tried talking, only to muffle it out. Ran tilted his head, "repeat it clearly, A.A."
Khun raised his head up, glaring at Ran. "He isn't my boyfriend, just a mere colleague." He repeated, sitting up properly. "Why are you waltzing into my room like you own it, anyway? Shoo, now, I have things to do.”
“But I wanted to play with you,” Ran slightly pouted, “and I noticed he had fangs, is he a vampire?” He continued to pry, inspecting his brother. Khun gazed at Ran in disbelief, confused as to how he saw Bam at such distance.
“... Half.”
“Half vampire half human? Kind of boring, don’t you think?” Ran teased, slightly smirking.
This kid… the side of Aguero’s lip twitched in annoyance.
“.. But still, it’s a surprise you’re doing research with someone, a vampire at that.” Ran pointed out, suddenly pulling a game console out of nowhere. "I didn't have a choice," Khun pouted. “Well, goodluck falling in love with him, A.A.” He smiled, getting off the bed and turning on the television in Khun’s bedroom. “But we just met today-”
“Let’s play now.” Ran cut him off, having Aguero argue with Ran about how disrespectful his younger brother was.
The next day, Bam and Khun successfully finished their presentation, getting a high grade from their professor. “You did well, Bam.” Khun smiled at his partner, closing his laptop. Bam beamed, “you weren’t bad yourself, Khun.” “Of course I wasn’t bad.” He remarked, smirking at the vampire in front of him.
The brunette hummed, taking his hand out. Aguero happily shook it, feeling Bam’s warmth in his hand. Khun realized that they held onto each other for too long, so he lets go. Khun cleared his throat, picking up his laptop and walking back to his table.
The romantic tension left the class still, and the professor broke the silence by asking for the other pair. In the middle of class, Khun couldn't help but take glances at the vampire, who was busy… doing something…? And whenever they made eye contact, Aguero would turn his head too fast that it almost broke his neck, and blush furiously.
Fuck fuck fuck fuck, who does he think he is to make me flustered? Khun thought to himself, stomping around the large hallway. Classes ended thirty minutes ago and he was free to go, but why is Bam following him?
He stopped his tracks, and turned over his shoulder. "Alright, Grace, why are you suddenly following me? What is it you want?" He asked, annoyance hinted in his voice.
The brunette chuckled, "maybe… you?" His golden eyes looked at Aguero, whose face was blank. “And my name is Bam, former partner.”
"... What?" Khun buffered.
"Did I stutter? " Viole stepped in closer, eyes glowing with honesty. Truth be told, Aguero was fucking terrified. ".. I mean it, literally and figuratively." He whispered into Khun's ear, casually putting his bag over his own shoulder.
Khun turned red, steam visible above his head. Bam only laughed, ruffling Khun's soft, silver-blue hair. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding. I only wanted to hang out since I don't have any friends in my major." He reassured, tilting his head. The bluenette huffed, turning and walking away.
No friends in our major, my ass.. Khun thought, because with every person they pass, people would be greeting Bam. Even infamous seniors like Urek Mazino and Yuri Jahad, Bam himself was quite surprised about it.
Aguero slowed his footsteps to walk side-by-side with Bam without noticing, slightly blushing and feeling electricity whenever he brushed his shoulder against Bam’s.
“Can you move away a bit?” Khun asked, raising a brow at Bam.
“But you’re the one who slowed down-”
“Because you were too slow! And I didn’t tell you to follow me around..” Khun looks ahead, “I wanted you to walk with me..”
Bam chuckles, “you’re too sweet, Aguero.”
“I told you, you don’t have the right to call me that!” Khun blushes, leaving the campus and Bam behind.
“Aguero!” Bam dramatically called out, running up to the bluenette.
It has been seven months since they started hanging out, and somehow, Aguero felt attached. With the fact that Bam simply accepted him for who he really was, and vice versa. It was almost as if they’ve known each other since they were young.. Or maybe even before that.
To be frank, he didn’t know how he truly felt about the brunette; when the past seven months just involved him pining over the golden-eyed vampire. Nope, he didn’t like Bam, not at all.
Khun was currently in his bedroom, sitting on his chair as he finished his stack of thesis papers, confident that he would be able to finish everything in one night. But he needed a break, so he moved away from his working table to stretch.
While he did so, a sudden thud came from his balcony, causing him to jolt out of his chair. He sighed when he saw a familiar silhouette, walking to where the balcony is, and opening the glass door. “Why are you-”
Bam just stood there, floating ever-so-gracefully. He was smiling, golden eyes reflecting the moon above. He looked celestial, rather than looking like a vampire. His cobalt eyes focused on Bam for a few more minutes in silence. “... Aguero?” Bam chuckled, welcoming himself in.
The bluenette widened his eyes, snapping away from his trance. He stayed silent at the name. Khun finally agreed on Bam calling him Aguero, only because it sounded nice whenever Bam called him that, as if it fits his voice perfectly. (He didn’t tell Bam that though).
Bam comfortably plopped himself down on Khun’s bed, sighing loudly. “I don’t wanna go home yet, Karaka just got home, so I hope you don’t mind me crashing here until dawn.” Khun hums, agreeing with Bam’s terms. He sat back down on his chair, “have you eaten?” He asked, going back to writing.
The brunette was about to lie, but his stomach growled loudly. He sighed once again, “no.. I didn’t want to eat earlier, and I’m quite hungry now. How about you?” Bam walked up to a busy Khun, humming. “I haven’t eaten yet, too.. So feel free to use the kitchen, since dad isn’t here.” And with those words, Bam disappeared.
An hour had passed, and Aguero just finished his thesis papers. But he was worried, did father come back earlier than expected? He asked himself, scurrying past the big hallways and finally arriving near the kitchen. He spotted chestnut hair, and just as he was about to enter, he heard a giggle. Aguero hid behind a wall, slightly peeking as to who Bam was talking with.
And- oh dear god it’s Ran and Maschenny.
“Really now? Aguero used to go fishing?” Bam giggled, putting food on the plates. Maschenny nodded, “he used to, with Maria. Maria was a half-vampire like you, it’s quite adorable.” She smiled, ruffling Ran’s hair.
Ran quickly slapped Maschenny’s hand away, glaring at Bam. “Tell me, Viole, do you like my brother?” His stern voice asked, angrily eating the dinner that Bam made.
The vampire chuckled, "hmm.. in terms of friendship, of course I like Aguero." He simply answered, taking an extra plate for Khun.
"Well, I think he's asking if you like Aguero romantically. " Maschenny emphasized, taking a glance to where Khun is hidden. The latter flinches, brows furrowing. I swear to god… this family.. he thought, looking back and walking away, not bothering to hear Bam's answer.
He went back to his room, laying face down on his bed. He felt so, so awful. It felt like his siblings were practically meddling with his relationship and sexuality, which were both supposed to be Aguero's business, and his only.
Aguero wrapped himself up in his blanket and laid down on his side, feeling his heart tightening. This didn't just happen once, but twice already. What will Bam think about me..? Khun thunk, clenching his jaw. He wanted to run, run away from everything, run to where he can live peacefully, without any nuisance.
Viole.
Khun suddenly thought, eyes shutting close.
Viole.
He felt tears running down his cheeks.
" Bam.. " he whimpered, hiding his face in the blanket.
.. Suddenly, a hand touched his hair, tracing down to his jaw, and back-hugging him.
"I'm here, Aguero." A honey-like voice soothed Khun instantly, and he felt like he could rest well tonight.
"I'll never think of anything bad about you, my Aguero."
Khun stirred himself to face Bam, who was already looking at him fondly. "... 'My Aguero'?..." Khun raised a brow, slightly chuckling.
Bam giggled, wiping away Aguero's tears with his thumb. "Yes, my Aguero." He leaned in close, golden eyes filled with so much love and adoration.
Aguero had to look away, biting his lip. "So cheesy…" he mumbled, slightly pouting. Bam cracked up a laugh, kissing Khun's forehead. "I knew you went to look for me, and you hid behind a wall." Bam commented, kissing Aguero's forehead once again.
The bluenette frowned, "so you really only think of me as a friend?" He asked, gripping on the collar of Bam's shirt gently. The brunette smiled, "why else would I be kissing your forehead like this," a kiss on the forehead, "if I only meant it platonically?" The vampire asked back, pecking on Aguero's nose.
"... Because… bros before hoes?" Khun answered, looking back up at Bam, who was holding back his laughter.
"A-Aguero…" He stifled a laugh, making a random sound and leaning his forehead on Aguero's.
"I love you, my Aguero." Bam finally confessed.
Khun's cobalt eyes widened, blushing furiously. "I…" he tried, already malfunctioning. And after a few minutes of buffering, he finally said the words that have been pent up for months:
"I love you too… Viole.."
"It's Bam, my Aguero."
"Your rights in calling me Aguero have been taken a-"
soft lips suddenly brushed against his, noticing that Bam had leaned in so, so close.
"... my Aguero.." Khun felt the vampire's hot breath, inching closer, and closer. Khun pressed his lips against Bam's, tasting sweet honey.
My Night
Khun thought, gently placing his hand on Bam's cheek, and pulling away. The vampire smiled from ear-to-ear, fangs showing.
"You love me." He declared, face smug as usual.
"N-No! My dignity!" Khun dramatically said, clutching onto Bam's shirt for his dear life.
"You love me~" he teased again, fondness visible in his tone.
"No I don't."
"Yes, you do."
Silence
"... Yes, I do.." Khun mumbled, leaning his head on Bam’s chest.
“Well, you do know we still have to eat dinner, right?” The brunette commented, rubbing circles on Khun's back. The latter only hummed, “fine..”
