Chapter Text
King was always one to worry, especially when Diane was involved. Something about this spooked him on a different level. She had been a bit different recently. Along with Diane being sick the past few days. She also acted slightly different. He couldn't explain what it was. Whenever he would ask her is she was okay after holding her hair back from her latest round of nausea Diane would tell him that she was fine. King wanted to believe her but something was still off. He decides to enlist Elizabeth and Merlin's help. Hoping they can figure out what its going on with her. Diane being her stubborn self protested to this checkup, insisting that she was perfectly fine and that it was probably just a stomach bug.
Even if it was just a stomach bug it didn't hurt to check just in case. Merlin and Elizabeth arrived right on time, as always. King explained all of her symptoms in more detail before they did there exam. Elizabeth had a smile on her face as if she already had her suspensions on what was going on with Diane. She didn't say anything quite yet though. Once the exam began King was promptly kicked out. He wondered the streets of Liones. For Diane and him were visiting from the Fairy King's forest for Meliodas and Elizabeth's son, Tristan's 3rd birthday. They had been there for a couple months already, wanting to spend some time with their friend. King found himself heading towards the Boar Hat Tavern. He enters and is immediately greet by Tristan, enveloping him in a huge hug.
" How are you today uncle king?" Tristan asks smiling up at him.
King chuckles a bit hearing Meliodas in the background calling for his son. "I am doing good today, I think someone is calling you buddy."
"Yea, but your so much more fun to talk to" The young boy stated.
"Oh really? I don't know. I think your dad is pretty cool." King laughed as he knelt down to the young boys level.
"But I don't want to take a bath. I want to play." He pleaded with his uncle.
"How bout I make you a deal? What if after your bath I bring Oslo and you too can play?" King asks the young boy.
"You Promise?" Tristan asked with a huge smile on his face.
"I promise buddy." As King says that Meliodas walks into the main bar from outback.
"King didn't know you were here. You heard anything about Diane yet?" The Short blonde asks immediately seeing the concern fill his friends face. " Hey man, Everything will be ok?."
King can only respond with a nod of his head. Meliodas turns to Tristan.
"Ok young man, You ready for your bath?" he asks the almost 3 yr old boy.
"Yes, But only because Uncle King promised I can play with Oslo after." He stated.
King chuckled and turned to his captain. " Hope that's okay, Any other way he wasn't gonna get in that bath.
"I guess I don't have much choice in the matter huh?" He laughs.
Meliodas and King exchange goodbye and make plans for King to return with Oslo after he finds out whats going on with Diane. Right before King leaves however Tristan comes running and gives his Uncle a huge hug and states that he can't wait to see him and Auntie Diane later.
King decides to grab some flowers on his way back to their small apartment they were staying in during their time in Liones. He found a beautiful bouquet made up of orange tulips. He bought it and started back telling himself that he was ready to hear what was going on.
When he arrived at the apartment Merlin and Elizabeth were leaving. He noticed that Elizabeth was giving him a peculiar smile as the to girls left towards the Boar Hat he assumed. He entered their makeshift home to find Diane standing in front of him with a huge smile on her face.
"What's going on honey? I feel very outta the loop right now." He says handing her the bouquet of flowers he bought at the market.
"Okay, so don't freak out, But I am Pregnant. About 6 weeks along." She says softly trying to gauge his reaction to the news. "King?" She notices he seems unresponsive and not another second before he is falling to the ground bloody nose and all. Diane can only giggle for this only happens when he is overstimulated or happy nervous. She bends down to wake him. "King, Are you ok sweetie?" She asks softly. He begins to regain consciousness.
"Oh hey Diane, Wha-What happened?" He asks still groggy from fainting. She can only giggle. " Whats so funny?"
"Oh nothing, You just fainted when I told you that you are going to be a father is all." She says giggling.
"Are you serious? I thought we might not be able to because of us being different races, This is the best news I have ever heard." He wraps Diane in a huge hug and peppers her with kisses. He freezes for a moment worried that she might get hurt. He has never heard of a Giant and a fairy having children before. She pulls him from his thoughts.
"Hey I will be ok." Why could she read him so well he thought. "We have Elizabeth and Merlin to help us figure this out. Lets just be happy for now and worry later. Ok sweetie?" She whispered in his ear.
"Yea, your right. I have no idea how you can read me like an open book." He chuckles. Diane breaks out in laughter.
"You don't make it very hard." She smiles
They were gonna be ok. He had a feeling.
