Chongyun has always wondered what it would be like to be next to Xingqiu side by side. The little moments they would have and romance between them.
But, there he was nibbling on the blue popsicle he had constantly at his side. The ice boy looks at the Xingqui laughing at what Xiangling said.
He feels a pang in his chest. Chongyun wonders why he didn’t ask first. The memory plays in his mind like the poison on his tongue, wanting to say “I love you.”
”You know Chongyun,” Xingqiu started. The boy looked up at his friend and have a confused glance.
”There was a time I liked you, romantically. Funny right? There was no way you liked me back.” Chongyun felt tears flow into his eyes. Was he too late?
”But, I’m happy now. Our relationship would perish and I’m content with this. Xiangling makes me happy.” The boy smiled and Chongyun just froze.
”Chongyun?” He snapped out and just gave a wrenched smile back.
”Yeah, pretty funny.” He laughed. He was too late. He was always late.
Despite being a positive person with the ability to scare off monsters with his distance, he hated it. Now Chongyun lost the chance to be with someone that he loves.
”We’re going off now Chongyun. Goodbye.” Xingqiu said with a smile. Xiangling was eating checking her bag and brought out condensed slime.
“This is for you! A little goodbye gift from me and Xing here!”
Chongyun smiled and waved. When the couple went far into the distance he broke down and cried.
Maybe one day, he would find love with the turquoise boy.
