Especially considering that today when he finally took Kalim up on his offer to spend time in his dorm room and Kalim flopped onto his back with his cardigan spilling over the bed, Ruggie didn’t think twice about crawling on top of him and folding his arms over his chest.

Summary
He waits for the nagging feeling of laziness to strike, but it doesn’t seem to for a while. Not while he’s staring at the velvety, red drapes, or combing through Epel’s hair, or listening to the birds fly by outside his window. It’s just a sort of warm, content feeling, like spending the rest of the day just cuddled up like this is more than enough to occupy his time.

Summary
Xingqiu knows to anyone else besides him that this looks bad. Xingqiu knows that anyone watching him walk further and further away from the funeral parlor and closer to the exit of the Harbor must think he's selfish, and doesn't care about his friend's death, and would rather stick his nose in a book than pay him a visit.
Xingqiu knows that people don't get it. He doesn't get it himself. But he does know that if he shows up at the wake, seeing the open casket and Chongyun's perfectly preserved body, his porcelain skin and carefully combed back hair his mother brushed out for him like when he was a child, then he'll sob and sob uncontrollably and never be able to get the image out of his head.
So rather than dwell on it, he continues to trudge away and out of town, his head swirling with a million buzzing thoughts that don't leave him with any more closure than before.

Xingqiu can’t bring himself to go to Chongyun’s wake, so he spends the day trying to distract himself with other things (and ends up coming back to him anyways)

Summary
With age, Chongyun has only gotten better at handling his condition - more strong and capable and confident in his abilities, but without any of the extremities like cockiness or an overinflated ego. He's gotten taller, and more handsome (especially according to Xingqiu), but his eyes are still just as kind and beautiful as always, and even after so much time he's still always been 'Chongyun'.
Xingqiu, on the contrary, feels like he's only gotten more awkward. More clumsy, more anxious, more worried about the future. When he stands in front of the mirror in the morning to wash his face, he'll look back at the face of someone who has dreams and aspirations, but still feels so incessantly lost. Often times he'll duck his head back into the sink, letting water drip off his chin while he turns up the hot water so it fogs the mirror and he doesn't have to look at himself.

Summary
"Oh Chongyun, it was horrible - simply horrible!" Xingqiu laments, donning a look of exaggerated distress that Chongyun would've noticed if not for Xingqiu clinging to his arm with worry.
Chongyun lights up in concern, looking over him for his source of worry. "Ah - what happened? Did the shopkeepers swindle you? Did you get your shoes dirty again?" He asks before he gasps. "Is Wanwen Bookhouse okay?!"
"It's none of those - and thankfully the Bookhouse is just fine." Xingqiu looks down at the basket resting on his arm before he looks up at Chongyun again with distress, the tiniest quirks of a grin trying to stay suppressed. "But you see, these goods I bought might be *poisonous*!"

Xingqiu tells Chongyun all the things he bought from the market might be 'poisonous', and tells him he'll just have to come with him on a picnic to verify the goods are alright.
Chongyun *knows* he's lying, but trying to call Xingqiu out on a lie is about as easy as trying to pry a book from his hands while he's reading - which is to say, he’ll just have to go along with his mischief for now
