Chapter Text
Part 1: First shot
A few months had passed since Yoongi started a new life. He didn't have to deal with his job and past problems anymore. This made him feel a little better.
As a vampire who had lost his lover, he needed some entertainment and what entertainment is better than a human? When vampires buy a human, it's usually like buying food. but for Yoongi, it was a totally different matter.
Actually, his former lover used to be one of those so called "foods" so he was against hurting them because of their blood. They had invented "artificial blood", so why would they need to hunt or buy humans anyway?
Plus, humans are a great part of society now. they could turn on vampires any day now if you step on their foot too much.
The young boy was so excited sitting on the passenger seat of Yoongi's car, looking through the window. Hoseok was smiling softly while trying to capture every scene in his mind. He wasn't allowed to leave the orphanage much. Yoongi smiled and took a glance at the teenager who was going to live with him. Those enthusiastic eyes reminded Yoongi of 'him' again and he couldn't help feeling sad once again. Maybe everything could go well if those "foods" didn't have feelings and vampires didn't reciprocate.
After parking the car, Hoseok stopped looking through the window and looked at the vampire who was sitting next to him. He knew that this man is now his new owner.
"Master, do you live here?"
Yoongi got out of the car.
"Yeah, do you like it?"
Hoseok nodded with a big smile.
"Of course sir! This place is beautiful, and even bigger than the orphanage's yard."
Yoongi smiled and patted his head.
"You know, you don't have to be so formal with me."
Hoseok smiled with his confused eyes and took a shy glance at Yoongi. The young looking vampire had short black hair, determined eyes, thin lips and pale skin... He was absolutely attractive from his perspective. Actually he could swear that most of the vampires he had ever seen, were attractive.
Hoseok got out of the car and followed Yoongi who was walking towards one of the houses. There were three mansions ,which all belonged to Yoongi's family. One of the mansions was Yoongi's, the one next to it was his cousin's and the one in front of it was his grandfather's.
Hoseok was looking around with his wondering curious eyes. That great garden and beautiful house was going to be his new home! He already knew that this new life would be better than the one at the orphanage.
He obediently followed Yoongi and entered the dark mansion. Though daylight wasn't harmful for vampires, it was still annoying so it was normal for Yoongi to make his home as dark as he could in daytime. Yoongi looked around and checked his surroundings. Seemed like the servant hadn't come to clean the house yet.
Yoongi coughed and turned towards Hoseok.
"So Hoseok... you know my name, right?"
Hoseok nodded.
"Yes, master."
Yoongi rolled his eyes and scratched his neck.
"The problem's exactly that. I want you to use my name instead of that weird medieval word. God, what the heck did they teach you there?"
Hoseok laughed slightly and bowed.
"Pardon me sir, I'll call you anything you want from now on, Mr.Min."
Yoongi grinned at him and took a few steps to get closer to the idiot human in front of him.
"Look at me Hoseok. Am I scary?"
Hoseok disproved while he was smiling anxiously.
"N...no sir, I... I didn't mean that..."
Yoongi smiled and continued.
"Do I look so old ?"
The Young boy shook his head immediately with fear that he somehow offended him.
"No! Not at all!"
Yoongi continued.
"Did I say I'm going to treat you like a slave?"
Hoseok shook his head again and stood there awkwardly.
"No..."
Yoongi reached out and touched Hoseok's cheek softly with his cold hand and looked deeply into his eyes.
"Then just 'Yoongi' is enough. You're not my food. You're going to be my friend..."
Hoseok looked at his kind eyes with surprise. He was a strange one for sure. totally different from all the vampires he had seen and anything he had ever heard about them at the orphanage. Those eyes glowed red but not in a scary way. Even those cold hand only made him feel safe and nothing less. Did it really mean that he got lucky and was going to have a different fate from what they had told him? Hoseok smiled and touched the vampire's cold hand.
"Fine Yoongi..." but he still felt awkward calling him so familiarly, so he asked "Can I at least call you 'Hyung'?" Yoongi nodded and walked towards the stairs.
"Of course. Follow me, I'll show you to your room. Can you carry your baggage? Is it too heavy?"
Hoseok shook his head.
"No, it's ok. I can handle it Hyung."
They took the stairs and yoongi stood in front of one of the doors and showed it to Hoseok.
"This is going to be your room, I want you to open the door yourself."
Hoseok touched the door handle and opened it cautiously. The room was huge and filled with luxurious furniture. Seeing that this was supposed to be his room from now on, he smiled incredulously and looked around with joy. The room was really beautiful! Yoongi stared at his new roommate with a bittersweet smile, reminding him of another person who used to live in this room. Hoseok turned to Yoongi with excitement and took his hand.
" Yoongi Hyung ... this room is wonderful!"
Yoongi deepened his smile and patted Hoseok's hair.
"I'm glad you like it ... Lunch will be served at twelve o'clock, you can unpack by then... The servant will be here soon, you can tell him if you need anything."
Hoseok nodded and bowed.
"Thank you very much ..."
Yoongi stepped back a little and smiled again.
"No need ... I have to take care of some personal matters. Hoseok ... see you later."
And quickly got away from there. That boy and that room reminded him too much of someone who should've be forgotten. For a moment, Yoongi doubted his decision. Was finding a replacement really the right thing to do? Could he really forget about that person by doing this or was he just making things harder and worse for himself? He sighed and put his hands on the stair railings. He had to get used to it. His grandfather was right, love was a dangerous thing for a vampire...
Behind the doors, Hoseok was happily looking at the small library in the corner of the room and walked towards it. There were a few interesting titles on the bookshelf. He smiled and flipped through the books. Was Yoongi the one who had picked these books for him? he nodded and went back to his suitcase. He took out his clothes and put them neatly in the closet, and then proceeder to put his personal belongings and books in the right place. He stretched his body when it was all finished. He suddenly heard someone knocking on the door. He stood up and hurriedly put his suitcase under the bed before the person behind the door could enter.
"come in."
The door opened and a boy about his age entered the room.
"Sir, lunch is ready. Please come downstairs."
Hoseok smiled and nodded.
"Yes... thank you."
And the servant boy bowed and left the room. Hoseok felt somehow relieved to see him. The servant was both human and about his age, and maybe he could become Hoseok's new friend. He checked his appearance in the mirror and walked to the door after rearranging his hair. When he opened the door, he noticed a voice speaking in a hushed tone. He saw the silhouette of the servant boy pinned to the wall by a bigger man. There wasn't much space left between them and the man was talking to him. Hoseok slowly hid behind the door and peeked from behind it.
The tall, young man, who seemed to be a vampire, smirked and pressed the servant's arm.
"Jimin-ah... you were only going to serve at my mansion from now on... do you intend on disobeying your master?"
The servant frowned and answered as he dared to stare into the bloody eyes of the vampire.
"Young master, I take orders from the great master and his command is that I take care of the cleaning of all three mansions."
The young man frowned and looked at the boy with a threatening look.
"You dare to talk to me like this? Remember, you live here and I, as the master of this place can do whatever I want. For example, I can enter your room at night and drink all your blood in a fraction of a second... you don't want that little Jimin, right?"
The servant boy grinned and released his cheek with one hand.
"master, it seems like you have forgotten, I have no interest in continuing this life, and if no one had stopped me the last few times I wouldn't be alive right now. no one likes to be regarded as food."
The vampire had clearly let his guard down. He smiled and took a step away from the servant.
"I'll let you go this time because I'm not looking for any trouble with that old man."
And he slowly went down the stairs and out of Yoongi's mansion. The boy, who seemed to be holding himself back for a long time, suddenly fell down to his knees and held his hand firmly on his mouth so that no one could hear him crying.
This scene was very unsettling for Hoseok. He didn't know who that vampire was and why he was bullying the poor boy. But he wasn't brave enough to go out and comfort him. Hoseok himself grew up in a place where "being food" was accepted as his fate and it was nothing out of the ordinary.
The servant quickly wiped away his tears and straightened his clothes and went down the stairs with a cold, numb look. Hoseok took a deep breath and finally left his room once the young boy was out of sight and went downstairs.
Yoongi was sitting at the dining table reading a book. When Hoseok arrived, he smiled and took off his reading glasses and put them in a corner along with the book.
"Hoseok ... was the room to your liking?"
Hoseok smiled and sat down facing Yoongi.
"Of course! It's very beautiful and big, thank you Hyung."
Yoongi nodded and motioned Jimin to serve the lunch. Seeing the large plate of fish in front of him, Hoseok smiled and thanked the servant boy. Yoongi filled a bowl of soup for Hoseok and slowly placed it next to his main meal.
"Do you like porridge soup? Jimin is a very skilled chef."
Jimin bowed.
"Young masters are kind to me; It's only my duty."
And with that he went back to the kitchen. After a few seconds, Jimin returned with a cup of blood and placed the cup in front of Yoongi. Huseok knew that vampires had a completely different diet from humans, but he didn't expect yoongi to eat in front of him.
Yoongi glanced at Jimin and his smile faded for a moment. He got up and walked towards Jimin, ignoring the servant's hesitation.
"Young master...?"
Yoongi looked into Jimin's eyes and frowned.
"was it him again?"
Jimin looked at Yoongi in surprise.
"What?"
Yoongi rolled his eyes.
"I said was it him? Is he bothering you again?"
Jimin stepped back and glared at Yoongi.
"No ... no! It's not like that, sir ... I'm just ..."
Yoongi took Jimin's hand and forced him sit on one of the chairs.
"You don't have to lie to me..."
He hurried to the kitchen and returned with some food.
"Jimin, how many times do I have to tell you not to starve yourself? You shouldn't lie to me about these things!"
And sat back in his chair angrily. Jimin stared silently at the table and didn't move. Hoseok was watching what was happening in confusion. he was speechless. Yoongi drank a sip of blood and stared at Jimin again with his sharp gaze.
"Please eat your food... By the way, Hoseok is going to live here from now on, and since you eat the same food, you can have lunch and dinner here every day."
Hoseok smiled hesitantly and looked at Jimin. He had no idea how to overcome the heavy atmosphere, so he tried to do a simple greeting.
"I'm... Jung Hoseok... glad to meet you, Jimin..."
Jimin smiled briefly and nodded.
"Nice to meet you too..."
Yoongi glanced at the pair of humans sitting in front of him and hit the table.
"Don't you want to eat?"
Both looked at Yoongi in surprise and started to eat. Jimin, however, was just playing with his food. Yoongi leaned his hands on the table and glared at Jimin.
"Jimin. I know It bothers you. Please let me know if he ever tries to bother you again. Jungkook's been like this ever since he was a kid, but I believe it's time to draw the line. He doesn't have the right to bully you."
Jimin smiled bitterly and gave Yoongi a sad look.
"Thank you Master Yoongi... but you know it's not possible. I'm just a servant."
He continued, looking down.
"For most people, I'm just food or a thing to be played with..."
Yoongi frowned and touched his temples.
"This can't go on. I'm talking to Grandpa tonight so you can come stay in my mansion."
Jimin dropped his spoon into the bowl.
"even if you do so, it just gets worse..."
Hoseok stared at Jimin for a moment and a thought suddenly came to his mind.
"Hyung... I have an idea!"
They both looked at Hoseok and he continued.
"What if I stay around Jimin every day? The young master can't hurt me, can he?"
Yoongi thought for a moment and frowned.
"If you have the mark of another vampire that is stronger than him, no... but I don't want to do that. I have to drink your blood so the smell of my pheromones will be on your body. "
Hoseok, who was a bit surprised, thought for a moment and replied with a smile.
"It's okay... if I can help Jimin like that then I'll do that. I was raised to do that."
Yoongi smiled and looked kindly at Jimin.
"Since neither of us are allowed to drink your blood and he also wouldn't be able to drink Hoseok's blood, he may stop bothering you so much... I think it's worth a try... If he bullies you, he's bullying Hoseok too. And that means picking up a fight with me."
Jimin nodded and stared anxiously at his soup bowl.
"I hope it work... I'm so sorry to bother you sir... you too Hoseok."
Yoongi smiled and nodded.
"You don’t need to apologize. It's my duty to protect you."
Hoseok still didn't know exactly who the other young Master was and how he related to Yoongi, but he could understand that Yoongi seemed to treat humans much better. After lunch, Jimin went to Hoseok's room for cleaning. Hoseok sat down on a chair and stared at Jimin.
"Jimin... Who exactly is this young master and what does he want from you?"
Jimin thought for a moment and tried to give the best answer.
"The grandson of the great master and the cousin of the young master. he's the typical vampire they told you about in the orphanage. And I don't know what he wants from me... he wasn't like that at first. Master Jungkook was kind, even to me. but he changed right after he celebrated his puberty... as if he became a whole different person."
He sighed and turned the pillow over on the bed.
"I tried so hard to understand why, but as I got closer I only hurt myself. So I tried to stay away from him, but he didn't like that and he continues to bully me for fun..."
Hoseok nodded and wondered if there was some misunderstanding at work neither of them could solve. Hoseok had the feeling that master Jungkook was not inherently a bad vampire. He got up and walked towards Jimin.
"Jimin, does master Yoongi always treat humans like that?"
Jimin smiled and stared out the window.
"No, In fact, master Yoongi was very indifferent. He changed a lot because of someone."
Hoseok couldn't understand it but it was easy to guess that someone used to live in this mansion with master Yoongi.
...
Yoongi put the books he had brought with him from the basement on the desk and sat down. Hoseok seemed to like books, and maybe it was a good idea to bring him a few good books to fill his time. He looked at one of the books and smiled softly. He gently picked up the book and brushed off the dust on it's cover.
'Gone By The Wind', That book brought back many memories. His adolescence and that old tree... and most of all, the happy boy who painted Yoongi's world. He opened the book and looked at its first page. A blue triangular piece of paper was in the corner of the page. He gently picked up the blue paper and smiled.
"Zichen..."
He couldn't describe how much he missed that boy and his laughter. It may not have been hard to remember, but they were still memories that made Yoongi's heart ache. Hearing someone nocking on the door, he closed the book and put it back on the table.
"Come in."
When he saw Hoseok enter the room slowly, he smiled and walked towards him.
"What's the matter Hoseok? I thought you were asleep by now."
Hoseok smiled shyly and moved closer to Yoongi.
"I'm here to discuss what we talked about earlier... to be honest, it's a little embarrassing."
Yoongi looked at Hoseok in surprise.
"Hoseok, tonight is your first night in here. I don't want you to have a bad image, so..."
Hoseok stepped forward and took Yoongi's hand.
"Please Hyung... for Jimin! I really want to help him. Besides, I'm not afraid of losing some blood, I was raised for something like that anyway... so please… "
Yoongi sighed and looked at the young boy.
"You... are you sure you want something like that?"
Hoseok nodded confidently and unbuttoned a few of his shirts' buttons.
"Yes."
Yoongi glanced at Hoseok's perfect white neck and gave in. Without any words, he took Hoseok to his bed and forced him to sit with a little pressure. He put his head next to the boy's neck and whispered, his eyes glowing red.
"I'm sorry for this, Hoseok..."
And pierced his fangs into Hosook's neck. Hoseok had a strange feeling. At first it was just aching, but after a few seconds he felt numb and dizzy. He had a special feeling like the border between drunkenness and consciousness, and at the same time he wanted to wrap his arms around Yoongi. Maybe he had no problem with such a thing? After a few seconds, Yoongi got away from the boy and licked his lips. The boy was staring at Yoongi with half-open eyes, and his head was still full of the strange feeling Yoongi had given him.
Yoongi took a handkerchief from his pocket and placed it on Hoseok's neck wound. It had been a long time since he had drunk human blood and it had given him a strange amount of energy. Hoseok fell on the bed after a feeling of dizziness hit him and closed his eyes. He was fainting just with that much? Suddenly he started laughing and forcibly opened his eyes again. Yoongi was anxiously checking his body's temperature, staring at him with his beautiful red eyes. If it was anyone other than him, would he be treated the same way? And his heavy eyelids closed again. But this time he felt something strange. The soft lips that were right on his lips and the tongue that gently entered his mouth... What was that vampire doing? And he didn't feel anything anymore.
